What happens to the girls ?
LessofApril replied to Mandyb2006's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My boobs are totally changing. I can feel it and see it. I know they are going to be much different. I also always had large breasts. I see reconstructive surgery in my future. -
So sorry, however I think all of us have been in this exact same place. I was banded in December and while I feel like I've done pretty well. I also will do stupid things. This week was a perfect example. It resulted in my first weight gain. I'm so annoyed at myself, not only because I let it happen, but because I'm thinking of the left over goodies in my fridge! What is that about? Take it one step at a time. Be kind to yourself and get back on track. You can do it! Making the choice to have the procecedrue was the hardest thing. Listen to your body and the rest will follow along.

Hair Loss - A Harsh Reality. Picture of Loss.
LessofApril replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh wow... that's scary. I'm sorry this is happening. I'll hit the 3 month mark tomorrow and have not noticed a whole lot of excessive hair loss. However, I started taking Biotin before my surgery and have done a so so job of taking it post surgery. I also had been taking prenatal Vitamins. A girl friend of mine, who did not have WLS---but has Lupus and has been experiencing hair loss has been using Hair Finity. She SWEARS by it. And her hair is looking fuller to me. Just something to consider. Good luck! -

100lbs in a year?! That's awesome. I hope he can loose the rest of his weight. We know how hard it is. I'm not a fan of his, but I certainly hope that he is successful. -
Skin Donation Why and How - Your Loss / Someone Else's Gain
LessofApril replied to PrettyThick1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
this is great info! I'm not nearly ready to have the recon surgery but I know I will. I have been wondering if that skin could be helpful. I'm glad it can be. -
Oh wow... I thought it was just me! (I need to check in here more often.) My skin is sooooo dry all over my body. I've been using coconut oil to help it along. A part of me wonders if's it not a lack of water or something. i know I'm not getting in all in the way I should. It's so hard to get the water in!

I love this! Happy for you. -
Hi all just wondering about this I had surgery on 12.12 and felt like I was doing well. But I got my period and the scale hasn't moved! I'm really frustrated by this. I have a call into my doctor's office, but I'm wondering what you all think. Has this happened to anyone? Could I be doing something wrong? Looking forward to hearing what you all think. Thanks, April

When can I eat these foods + puree questions
LessofApril replied to coopspa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at the pureed stage now. You didn't get a little booklet from your doctor? I did. If I was home I would just send it to you (I'm at my BF's till the weekend) It has a pretty clear list. I don't puree eggs. I scramble them soft and mashed them with my fork. My doc doesn't want me to eat beef yet, so I would stay away from the chili. The fish, if it's canned you don't have to puree. I made fresh tuna the other day and I pureed it. I had to. -
Hi Jessie--- So sorry that you are having trouble. I'm only a few weeks out, but I was just remembering that years ago when I was WW I had hit a wall also. My leader suggested adding more fish in lieu of another Protein and it actually helped. You might want to try that. Hope that works. Also, if your practice has a nutritionist, it might be a good person to reach out too.

Does anyone regret this surgery?
LessofApril replied to Wenniegirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
19 days out and very few regrets. A week out and I had a few bad days and I had this feeling of "OMG WTF DID I DO?". I missed out on Christmas Eve and Day---just because I knew I would not be able to handle being around the food and the questions. I have told my inner circle (Parents, Brother, BF, BFF's) but not my entire family or friends. I'm not ashamed, but I felt the need to be protective of the process in the beginning stages. I regret not being able to eat the way that I used to. Which shows me how addicted to food I was (am). Social situations are really difficult. My boyfriend was eating White Castle in front of me the other day---the smell was equal parts delicious and disgusting. I think that some regret in normal, especially if you are having a hard time. Take it each day at a time. Be kind to yourself. Use your doctor, this forum and I suggest joining a support group. The practice that performed my surgery has one. I plan on using it. If you have access to the therapist, I suggest utilizing that as well. WLS is a BIG deal. It's a life changer. That's why we did this, in order to change our lives. Best of luck to you!
