    I Hit BULLS EYE

okay I am happy but jealous too. I just had my 2nd fill last weekend and she put what I thought she said was 7 cc's. I was really excited because most people that have that much seem to hit their "sweet spot" so I was only expecting the same results. Well other than getting stuck a couple of times, I still feel hungry and like I can eat atleast 3/4's of what I could before I was banded. Oh and did I mention it's been almost 3 months and all that Ive lost is 10 stinkin pounds. I am just curious to know what was your beginning weight and what fill number is this for you? thanks sincerely, feeling pretty desperate
  2. Thank you so much Shonette. Your words of wisdom and very needed and appreciated. I get my second fill this weekend. I am working hard now to keep my diet in check and I am also trying to get more walking in. I know that in the end, it all falls back on ME and how much work and commitment that I am willing to put into it. Thanks again!

My Weight Loss Journey -- Why I underwent Lap Band Surgery

You will do great! YOu have now extended years onto your life and I know that this band will help you enjoy them all the better. I am right there with you on the failure or success thing. Sometimes I seem to sabotage myself. But once we get over ourselves, we can accomplish much. Best of luck and blessings to you.

    2nd fill=frustrated!

bandedchick I am right there with you. I recently had my first fill and I was starting to wonder am I really that disfunctional that my body is rejecting the whole lap band process and experience while everyone else is seeming to have great results??? but I still have hope and I know if we just keep the faith, things will turn out alright. and im from texas too and i love your pic lol.

    NEGITIVITY?? REALLY??

I have to admit that I am in my negative phase of things. I was just banded in Aug and now have my first fill and I am not seeing the results that I "think" that I should see. But the thing is that I still have hope that if I do MY part, things will turn out for the better. You just have to stay positive regardless. Most people do come on here with the negative because they feel down or discouraged and they are afraid to fail yet again at another WL endeavor. But most of the time I have found that there is a happy ending if you keep up with your fills and follow the weight loss patterns that best suite you. It is a learning and growing process but you can do it. We all can...

    negatives all around....

I know it's hard but shake the haterz off! If taking cheap shots at you is what she needs to feel better hey, let her have her little moment. She could have easily shortened that post and just made it say she lost 50 lbs and she's happy with her accomplishment. But since she did take it there you keep on smiling and kill her a** with kindness. Wish her well and let her attitude and people with her type of attitude be your motivation to reach your goal weight and stay there. You got this!!!

    Need a little help....

I just recently had my first fill and I am still having the same issues that you guys have mentioned with wanting to eat any and everything in sight. All we can do is try and follow the doc's orders and just have hope that it will get better with each fill. And it will. You are not in this alone what you are feeling.
  9. Congrats! I am really happy to hear that things have worked out so great for you. I am not having the best results but maybe I need to tweak my mind and not blame the band for not doing its job. I am happy for you " )

  10. I understand Rachel. We all have to go through our own personal routes to get to where we want to be on this journey. I understand where you are coming from. I can try to eat like I have restriction but then again if I had that mastered, then what would I need a band for?

If you are struggling with weight loss- please read

Hi Kelly. I was glad to read your post because I am feeling like a failure thus far. I was banded back in August and lost about 13 pounds at first, but have now gone back up close to my starting weight. I got my first fill this past weekend and I have no restriction. I am trying not to get discouraged because I do know that the band is a tool and not a "magic device" as they say but what is the use in getting it if it's not going to help at all. HELLO, I'm fat for a reason so obviously I have a food addiction and I am really sick of hearing that 'You have to do your part" and "the band is not going to do it all". Like my 5 year old says, "but duh". I am aware of this!!! but just when exactly does the lap band kick in and do its part??? I'm kind of feeling like I should have gotten the gastric bypass as planned. Anyone who has gone through this and can give me some words of encouragement it would be so appreciated right now...

August Bandsters Did you get your 2nd Fill Yet?

A little behind but still in the race. Was banded Aug 11th and I just got my first fill Oct 15. I had gotten down to 227 from 243 but I am now back at 235. I know what needs to be done to achieve the results I want and that is more restriction and more discipline and exercise. I am going to try and schedule my 2nd fill for the end of the month. My sister in law is getting married Nov 19th and I was hoping to have shed atleast 20 lbs and some inches by then. I guess I will have to go the low carb route to get those results since I still feel like I can eat a horse most days....

    Sabotaging ourselves?

I know what your mean by sabotage. I could deal with skipping a meal alot better than what I just went and did this morning. I dropped the kiddos off at school and then stopped and Whataburger and ate a large cheeseburger in the parking lot. I just had my first fill this weekend and although I have a fridge full of healthy high protein foods, I just had to go on a fat attack and eat a burger. You notice how I stayed in the parking lot to eat it because I was ashamed to eat it at home in front of the hubby and ashamed to be in the restaurant that early by myself scarffing down a cheeseburger. It's like we know what it takes to get the results we want, but we have to get past ourselves in order to see these results. Maddy your case doesn't sound as pitiful as mine but if we just keep striving we will all get there one day. #nevergivinup!
  15. Congrats Rachel! I have such a long way to go in both my weight loss and state of mind. I find myself still struggling with what what I eat along with the portion sizes. I was banded in aug and just had my first 3cc fill in my 11cc band this past weekend Oct 15. Any words of wisdom would be awesome to this fellow hard working mother.
