Hi, I did not tell my parents and I am 6 days post op and still don't plan on telling them.In fact I only told 1 of my 3 children.I am a private person and only share certain things. My family knows this and are used to this and if they did hear I had the surgery they would probably not even ask me about it they have learned to respect my privacy.

Hi everyone I got home from the hospital last night and have spent most of my time in bed.I only hurt in the upper tummy must be where the band is it even hurts to take a deep breath,I hope its cause there is just some swelling in the band area and nothing bad going on.I was taking liquids good before I could come home but now even one sip makes me fill full like it doesn't go down for a long time.Is this normal?i am going back to bed as I am the most comfortable there.I just fill so full.I will check later for any advice from all of you. Welcome Marsha,I am also pre-band for a few more hours yet,I am scheduled for surgery at 11AM tomorrow.I am a little nervous and just can't sit still today.Good luck with getting approval, many of us had no problems and then many have had problems getting approved.I think it all depends on the insurance company.Roxanne

Alex, I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Alliance Select. It is hard to beleive that my husband and I both had our consult the same day and got our approval letters the same day.No questions asked.I was floored and I cried because I really thought I would be denied or at least have to fight them.I think alot of it has to do with the Dr.'s letter and how convincing it is.I wish I could help you more. There is a lawyer that has been listed on obesityhelp.com at different times but I never paid any attention to his name cause I didn't need him.Is going to Mexico an option for you?I hear it is fairly affordable done there.Just don't give up keep trying.I know medicare even pays for it my aunt is on disability and medicare paid for hers, so if the goverment is paying for it I don't see why insurance companies are draging there feet.I wish I had a copy of the letter my Dr. sent into insurance co. to get me approved and I would share it with you but I don't suppose he would share his letters.Let me know how it's going for you. Hi,I was told not to drink to soon after a meal because the liquid washes the food down and you are hungry sooner than you should be. But 2 hours sounds like a long time if you waited 2 hours after every meal thats 6 hours out of the day taken up, when would you have time to get all the fluids in your suppose to get in.

That does seem strange losing to much wt. to fast is not good either.I thought with the band we were to lose slower and that is safer.I will be watching the posts to this as I am to be banded on Monday. My dr. said to expect to lose 1-2 lbs. a week and thats all he wanted because it is safe. i will only be on liquids 1 week after then mushy. I saw my Dr. on Thurs. and he said he charges $50.00 a fill and dosen't even submit to insurance company anymore because the fill is always denied. Roxanne
