Great Explanation Of Inches Lost But The Scale Doesn't Move
yecats replied to FiremansAngel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That was good! It makes sense to me, before I was baffled. ty lol -
I went to go look at sundresses, something I have never felt comfortable doing. My son's wedding is coming up shortly and the girls are getting together for a brunch. I asked an attendent at Penney's where is the plus sizes, upstairs or down and she said "for you?" I said, yes mamm, she said "you are definitely not a plus size". I was like um , yes mamm I am, but she begged to differ with me. I did not try anything on because frankly I did not see anything I really liked, but that experience was so weird. It felt good but strange it was like a dream or something. I am not saying or really even beleive that I am not a plus size but for someone else to question that I am not was something I have never experienced. I have always been big, heavy , fat , oversized, plus, you name it and for someone to say I am not was sooooooooo weird. Good but weird.

Post Op 3 Days And Having Rough Time...help
yecats replied to smileygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Smiley Girl, It will get better, think, this to will pass. Before you know it this will be a faint memory. For me , I could only tolerate 1 kind of protien drink. It is Mucsle Milk lite. It is in a little carton 4 pack , you can purchase it at Walmart or Publix. I also bought a protein powder on line and add that to it so I get 35 grams of protien in one drink. You just migtht want to start of with the Muscle Milk first since you are early on in recovery. I am 8 wks out and love my sleeve now. All pain is gone and behind me. Best wishes to you. -

Good for you!!!!! Those NSV's will save you over and over when you are down. Daily it seems like we are not moving but overtime the inches melt even if you do not realize quite yet on the scale. Your rockin' it...lol -
Dr. Ponce De Leon And Trish
yecats replied to mommyinneed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to Florence. It was an older hospital but the care I got there was better than I have ever recieved here in the states. They are very warm and caring people. I felt very comfortable. I am not sure of INT. I don't recall the name of the hosptal that Dr. Ponce was in. I thought it was like... Med something? Unsure. I can find out though. That was a very new up to date hospital. I actally talked to one of his nurses that had the sleeve done. He performed it. She looked great. She had surgery a year ago. -

Dr. Ponce De Leon And Trish
yecats replied to mommyinneed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to Dr. Kelly in Feb. Trish was my coordinator. I did meet Dr. Ponce after my surgery and he is a wonderful man, warm and very caring. He does not speak a lot of English but Trish translated then and I am sure he has a translator. He gives great advice for post -op. I was really impressed with the amount of care he puts into the post diet he gives. I asked someone on here for it for I was told it was great. It is! Plans for each meal post op. I believe all the way to goal weight, if you chose to follow it. Trish took me, my husband and my sleeve sister to the coast to see the beach, on the way back we had to stop by the hospital Dr. Ponce works at. I was totally happy with Dr. Kelly but if I did not know of Kelly I would of gladly of went with Dr. Ponce. The hospital he performs surgery at is completely awesome. Trish is awesome also, you are in great hands! You have the best scenerio, excellent Dr., coordinator and hospital!!! Really!!!! Did you ask Trish if there is anyone else going around the same time as you, if so she will put you in contact with them, that is exactly how I met my sleeve sister before surgery. She lives in Minasota and we talked on the phone before we ever went to MX. We still talk .. Best to you. -
Pre-Op Cold Feet - Help! I'm Scared...
yecats replied to madambones's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way but I thought about how I would feel if I did not have it done and truly that was a worse reality for me. I also wrote my kids a goodbye letter, not only did I not share that I was having surgery (they are grown) but just knew I was going to die and did not want them to wonder why I did not share , so now 7 weeks post op. I ripped up the letter when I got home. I am almost 40lbs down since I started my pre op diet and get nervous about other stuff now, like can I really fit in this new bathing suit. It says my size now but no way can it be.... lDon't be scared. -
Good for you for starting!!! YOu can do it. I need to do that!!!lol

7 Weeks Since I Have Been Sleeved! Update...
yecats posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to give a little update for some who might wonder how it is after being sleeved. I recall, not to long ago wondering how I might feel a month or two out. First let me say, I went to Mexico, had surgery with Dr. Kelly. I lost 12lbs preop (if I recall right lol). Since the time I was sleeved I have lost 25 more lbs. I am tickled. I was on liquids for 2 plus weeks and around the 3rd week I started mushies. About 4 weeks I started soft foods. So far this has been a blessing but my sleeve has tolerated EVERYTHING. I have not ate one thing that has bothered it. I must say that I do pretty much stay by the book. I eat protein first always. I have tried a lot of different foods. I even can eat not huge amounts but never have I ever felt like I was going to be ill. I do feel sometimes that I have had enough. I did take 4 weeks off from work. I am a server at a very high volume restaurant and also clean houses for a living. Very physical work. I have no problems with energy level being low. I get in all my vitimans, protein and liquids. Everything has went almost to smooth. If I did say I have had an issue it is that I continue to deal with constipation ( sorry if TMI). Some NSV's (non scale victories) that I am so happy about are 1) I measured before and then a month after surgery and had lost 14inches total. 2) I went from a 20 tight, probably 22 to a 16 wide easily 3) My husband is lean , no weight issues and now finally after many years I way less than him. YEahhh. He is tall but .... who cares I weigh less. 4) I have been walking atleast 3 miles aday, sometimes twice a day now and have started jogging also. ME JOGGING, CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!!! 5) I can sleep all nite now, I also can sleep lying down, not with a bunch of pillows sitting me up. 6) I can not believe I am going to say this but..... for the first time I feel attractive. It is not how I look but how I feel about myself. I can breath and not huff and puff when I walk. 7) Oh yeah, I can cross my legs...lol. I love this. 8) Okay... I am going to say it kinda.... lol , by choice I have not been getting a lot of sleep. Not only am I happy, my husband is a very happy man these days. Something woke up, my hormones have been screaming. ok I am done. -
Really sorry you are feeling like this. My husband is also lean and has never had a weight issue. He can eat anything and also go long periods of time without anything to eat. He jst does not understand. I am seven weeks out and for me anyway I can say is head hunger does get easier. I personally have noticed how very much resilliant the human body (and mind) really are. One day it will click that you have made this change, it is like you mentally still have to except it. Right now your mind is fighting it. Kinda like quitting smoking and getting rid of the nicotine. When you are not feeling all @#$%#$^& maybe right down the things you miss. That is what I did. This sounds crazy crazy crazy but I started watching all these food show subconsiously not realizing why and then one night I just started crying like a baby over DRIVE INS, DIVES AND DUMPS (?). The cooking show where the guy drives all over everywhere for the best restaurant food. Your in the midddle of mourning food, I think it is very normal. I must say though that a lot of people don't get a handle on that and might sabotage there weight loss so really look into it if things don't change but right now I think it is very common where you are at. Hang in there and do not be so hard on your self. Again, this to will pass. I will be praying for you!!!
