Do what feels right to you. Sleeve me please!!! No male obsorbtion issues. No dumping. No rerouting, just snip and heal. lol Maybe a little, (actually a lot) more than that, just less all the issues.
-
About 6 mo. ago when I was conteplating being sleeved. I opened my big mouth to a co worker, who had become a friend, about wanting to go to MX for WLS. Besides her, I work with a lot of women who stand around and gossip about each other. Very hateful and mean spirited. Well, the friend I did confide in, is also a biggggg girl. I thought she would react quite nicely. To my surprise it was the exact oppisite. She said "What are you crazy? You do not need that, that is the easy way out, they will end up screwing you all up", it doesn't work anyway, on and on. BIG MISTAKE!!! At that very moment I decided not to share it with anyone else. I really thought she would be more supportive. I tried to explain that it was not a by pass but she did not want to hear it. It was strange I got the feeling like.... she was either jealous or felt inferior or intimidated. She actually treated me differently for a few days, going on and on about it, (quietly I in my ear), until I told her there was know way I could do it anyway for I did not have the $'s. Work became so uncomfortable during that time. She would ignore me unless she would say something pertaining to that subject. She showed a total different side of herself to me. I forgot to mention, she is not my boss but she is in a leadership position, like management but with out the power to hire and fire. She can make my job easy or very difficult. Other than this issue, I look up to her, think she is a wonderful gal. She is the go to person and is highly regarded in her position. I respect her tremendously. I truly want no hard feelings. I would hate for our relationship to change. Now I have a sleeve date, Feb. 4th. I have not told my boss yet either, due of this issue. I have not dealt with even scheduling the time off. She will outright ask him and as soon as he says I can not discuss this with you then she will know. How would you handle the friend/ coworker lady and telling the boss? I must say I do trust her not to run her mouth. Yet I do not want her attitude, concerning it. I had a taste of it. My job is very physical. I plan on taking 6 weeks off. I do not see that as a problem. I truly did not expect to have the money available so soon to go, so this kind of came about quicker than expected. I dread going back to work, smaller and having to lie or be treated differently.

I will be sleeved on Feb 4th. (that feels so good to write, lol) I was wondering... My son is going to be married on June 2nd. I am 100 lbs. overweight. I know know one can tell me how much I will lose but I really wanted to pick out a dress way before hand. I wonder will I lose like 20 or 30 ish lbs, a size or two maybe? I dread looking for a dress for the way I look right now but do not want to wait till the last minute. In all honesty, I know the dresses I would wear now are a much different style than even they were 50lbs ago. I got the moo moo dress going on now. lol What to do....

Wow... you have been through a lot. It is weird though. You had to stop exercising b/c of your illness but need to start back up to feel better. Bless your heart. Like a catch 22. I hope I enjoy exercise more after being sleeved and losing some of this weight.. Thank you for your post, informative. It really made me think. This sleeve really does give us new oppurtunities, not just weight loss.

I Don't Know What To Do About My Family Anymore....
yecats commented on illgeturhairdid's blog entry in illgeturhairdid's Blog
My heart goes out to you. How hard it must be to be so aware of your situation, trying to improve it and have others live the extreme opposite, especially while dealing with recently being sleeved. A few things, 1) You seem to be quite young, thank God that you did not get caught up in this for the rest of your life. You are stopping that chain , that life cycle of dysfunction. Many of us have families living in these same situations. I am 47 years old and wish I stopped abusing myself long ago with food. My father died of obesity related illnesses and all his siblings. I was right there with them for years. So give yourself some credit, you are doing something for them. Be an example. Be loving to them but make good choices for you. You can not change them, and it sounds like they don't want to change. 2) I hope you understand how this relates.... Three of my siblings died of drug related incidents. I really was bitter with them for some time, without even realizing it. I did not understand it, I was so bothered by seeing my sister wither into a shell of who she was. I was a lot younger and very impressionable. I was experimenting with things I shouldn't of been also yet I made different choices and by the grace of God had the will to stop. My point is this...I now look at there lifestyles as a lesson to me. When they died like that it was not in vane. Do you understand? I might not always no what I want but I sure no what I don't want. I did not want to go out like that. Looking at them in this perspective, allows me to live free of that lifestyle. They showed me very well what I did not want to end up like. Your family is actually showing you something very powerful. I know you want to save them and it hurts terribly but you can't honey. Don't be angry with them, it will eat you up. Love you Mama while she is here. Show your sister how she can recover. Pray!!!! -Sorry to go on and on.... -

How Many Experience This From Their Husbands..
yecats replied to SunshineMom2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Plese take to heart what others before me said. Please see that for what it is. I was there before, many years ago, people like that do not generally change. Your weight loss is going to inpower you in ways you do not even see now. I am at my biggest now and my husband would never thnk of ever being that hateful. He might ask me to get out of the boat and help push but never degrade me. Personnally I would make the kids get out and push Mama off the flat...lol. Bless you lady. You are very very valuable!!! -
What a wonderful job you are doing. Very inspiring!!!1

Guess I have not been around here long enough. This is the first time I experienced this loss of comradery. Hope she comes back soon!!!

6 Mos Out - Pix - Frustration!
yecats replied to ahoy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not sleeved yet but... I think you look amazing! You look so much better than in the other pics. Slow and steady. You know where you can change things to get there, if you really want to get there. I know you do want to. Keep your head in the game. I pray your over being ill so you can focus on doing the best you can do.
