your restriction sensation can change with your weight loss or with where you are in your menstral cycle. Every surgon does fills differently. The main goal is to stay in the green zone. so you dropp weight at a consistent even pace. Be ware of the yellow zone: you are eating way more and hungry more often that means you need more Fluid added. The Red zone: you are having trouble with good nutrtious foods and are reaching for soft slider items you need to see your doctor for evaluation. The weight loss does slow down as more of your weight dropps off Keep working out paying attention to your nutrtion and stay hydrated.

I had gotten up to seven cc in a 14cc band this past summer, but it was to tight and I had to have Fluid taken off to avoid complications. I know as you loose more the band loosens up wich is why you get more fills. It seems so elusive that green zone

What About Our Fat Friends And Relatives
icestorm12132008 replied to lisapereira66's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did a lot of soul searching and it was out and out desperation on some level when I chose to seek out getting a Lap-band. Everyone gets banded for different reasons nobody's reasons are exzactly the same. For me it was in an attempt to end my life long struggle with my weight, and I'd tried everything else and nothing seemed to move the weight off. I"m still working on my weight and I'm at my first year with banding and I'm still working on it. I have had some folks ask me about banding and my experience with it. I tell them the truth the good and the bad. I also tell them who i see for my care and tell them that if this is something they are considering for themselves, to check out my surgon's web-site and if they have any more questions feel free to ask. My youngest sister is quite overwight and she is in the obessee category I think. She has asked me what lap banding is like and what I can and can't eat. I had not talked to her in about six months since my surgery and she offered to take me out shopping to get a new article of clothing. She did not believe that I was in the smallest size in the store(laynebryant). She was in shock when she saw that i was in fact smaller then her. My sister no longer talks to me about the weight. I look at it this way, we all have our "come to Jesus moment". I had mine a few years ago when my reproductive endocrinologist told me quite plainly that my obesity was killing me and that until I got the weight under ontrol thru surgery a baby would never happen. This is a personal and sometimes private journey and sometimes those that love and care for us (our friends and family) might react harshly due to our weight loss. WE have to realize that the flaw is not withn ourselves but within our aquantances for not realizing that we are doing this for our health and not for vanity. When I speak to someone about weight loss I don't criticize. The person allready knows that they are obesse they don't need another person pointing out the obvious. All i can say is sometimes you will loose friends/family over it. And they have to come to terms with their own weight issues on your own, don't let them guilt you into down grading your sucess. -
Pcos And On Fertility Drugs
icestorm12132008 replied to Asherscrashers's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I too have PCOS(isen't this disorder just lovely?) I'm so glad to hear you lost over 100lbs. Did your doctor put you on Metformin? and low carb diet for the disorder. Research has found that those with PCOS need the metformin to help regulate their suggars and it also helps to prevent miscariage. Progesterone therapy also helps to prevent it. as many wommen with pcos are progesterone defficient and can't make enough to support the pregnancy. So please ask your doctor to monitor your progesterone levels and if they ask you to take progesterone in oil or another form of progesterone take it it is good for your pregnancy. -

Wow i had no idea that Sharon osborne had a band. Does she realize that if she gets it removed she is likely to gain back all the weight lost?

some folks get pain in their back area from the gas that is used as it migrates out of the body. For some it can take a week or two to exit the body. When you start getting fills a signal of to tight can be pain the scaplua/ back of the shoulder.

you just had surgery, that can sometimes wreck havock for a little bit with your menstral cycle. Give yourself a month or two it will come back.

Need Some Encouragement (This Is Going To Be Long)
icestorm12132008 replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
keep your head up. I had an ovarian cyst that would not regress removed this past fall. Listen to your doctor because ovarian cysts/mass can cause ovarian torsion wich can cause severe abdominal bleeiing if the fallopian tube twists and ruptures. Try to get a robotic surgon if you can the incisions are small and heal time is quick. Good luck on you decision for WLS surgery. I had a lapband placed almost a year ago and i've lost aobut sixty seven pounds and I know I have more to go . What ever method you choose it is a jurney . take care. -

being tighter in the Am is common for many. As you loose weight fat does sheed from the inside making the band looser. I would make sure you stay hydrated and do protien shake in the am and see if the band does not relax by afternoon evening . If this continues to be be bothersome talk with your MD.

Well stay out of NIKIE and champion for now cuz they don't have anything for the plus sized womman. I get my sweat on in a cotton bra no wires from the cassique collection from laynebryant but I make sure it is well fitted so the chest don't bounce to much when I do jog. I just usually ware an old t shirt and an old pair of cotton bermudas That's a good question what do the plus sized gals do for workout ware if they want any?

Friends With Benefits? How Do You Feel About It?
icestorm12132008 replied to SteveFrett's topic in Rants & Raves
wow figures a guy would ask this. (stupid man) No way cuz someone usually ends up hurt in the end and trust me it never ends well for the womman. get yourself into a loving commited relationship because you could ruin a perfectly good friendship with sex, and that would not be worth the sex. -
Finally My Ahahah Moment!!! Any Advice???
icestorm12132008 replied to ktsped's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hi, OK so you are a teacher ok sandwiches are out obviously, and be caereful with school lunch if you do decide to purchase. Canned fruit rinsed from it's syrup or juice is often softer and easier for you to chew. What about protien shake? if you don't have alot of time, can you get milk from the school cafeteria?. some do ok with cut veggies but not leaffy greens like lettuce. OR for protien what about baked fish or chicken brought from home from lastnight's supper? Just be careful with microvaving don't overheat it it might get rubbery. -
this lapband is awsome, Hi banjo257 hope you are doing good. I have been told to serioulsy no joke clean out the closet, I have weeded out the stuff I know I can still ware and the rest of it, going to the donate pile. My poor husband he says we are going to do a major shopping trip this december so i "stop looking like a potato sack". It has been almost a year and I'm about 1/2 way to my goal, just seventy or so more pounds, and seventy pounds gone. I'm leterally 1/2 way there. you can message me on the boards if you want.

For now I know Dr. Glassgow uses the lapband, I don't know what he is going to offer for lap-banding/Ajustable gastric banding now that allergan has folded up it's obesity division. This raises a concern one would think if something where to go wrong with the divice after it's implanted. Would the doctor switch over to the other band manufactuer? I guess we won't know till we ask Adam. --Corey

Thirty And A New Bandster!
icestorm12132008 replied to vanessa1215's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There is a sales girl at the LB outlet her name is Nayomi she is a dressmaker in her spare time. She went to school for fashion design. she has offered to take in my clothes as i go on the way down. I've started going to savers thrift and it is really hit or miss there, sometimes i find something that works sometimes not. I think I will find a solution that works for me for re doing my wardrobe thru the discount stores, getting some nice things at LB that can be tailored down and the savers thrift. Before banding I was an avid shopper at LB and built myself a rther nice wardrobe. Right now I'm kinda in "no man's land" still to big for regular miss and going shopping has been alot of trial and error. After weeding thru my closet today for far to long looking for something that looked good I realized it's time to chuk everything that don't fit right and start over.
