I had Lap band surgery in 2012 and am now revising to a bypass in March. I did lose some weight initially with the band but i am starting to have some pain and discomfort at the site of my port and also am a bit scared to have a foreign object in my body for so long. I am excited to have my Roux-en-y surgery and believe it to be the best option for me.
I am seeing a team of specialists including an Endocrinologist / Metabolic specialist, dietician, psychologist and surgeon. I believe this holistic approach offers all round support and I have such confidence in this team. I live in Harare, Zimbabwe but am having my surgery in Johannesburg, South Africa.
