Decided to have WLS surgery after being overweight my entire life. I've tried dieting to no avail. Listening to all of the research, diets don't work and it is hard to stick with a plan. I started thinking about WLS about a year ago. In June, I got really serious and did a lot of reseach. I am comfortable with lapband because it is not as invasive as other WLS. It also goes along with a lifestyle change that I've been committed to since June. I am using myFitnessPal (iphone app) to help me track my calories (both intake and cardio). Using this tracking approach, I have successfuly lost over 36 pounds! So why lapband if I am already losing weight? Well, I want to ensure that I will continue to lose the weight. Sometimes in life, it is easily to fall off the wagon. I don't want that to happen. I want to ensure that I will not start consistently overeating and the lapband will help me manage that goal. I know that the lapband is not an easy fix. I will need to continue to eat small meals and excersise.
My surgery will be in 2 days, on October 19th. I am very ready for the next chapter of my life to begin. I chapter that involves a smaller, healthier me.
