I'll be starting couch to 5K on January 3rd. I've been doing some tests of day one of the program using different smartphone apps to see which app works best for me. I've noticed it is way easier to do on the elliptical than on the treadmill or outdoors . TBM

Not Losing On Scale But Clothing Much Bigger....can I Be Losing?
thebandedman replied to lisa123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had a stuck scale but I could see I was getting thinner. I reviewed my exercise and food logs and noticed I was eating more carbs that I realized. On 12/4/11 I made my carb limit 50 grams a day, trying to stay below 40 grams a day, and I have lost weight everyday this week. I must control the carbs else they will control me . TBM -
Congrats and welcome to Bandster land. Follow your post-op instructions and a heating pad helps with shoulder pain. TBM

Hi Everyone Banded - 10/27/2011
thebandedman replied to Bluedevil11's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded 10/25/11 and am starting week 6 solid foods today. I'm shocked it takes me so long to get hungry. My weight loss has stalled even with increased exercise. I know I have another week of healing but I got used to seeing those numbers decrease every day . I consume 1000 - 1100 calories per day and average a 2900 calorie burn per my BodyBugg. I am shrinking in areas so I know my body is making changes . TBM -
October Bandsters!!!
thebandedman replied to "AmyRose"'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 10/25/11 so I have no fill yet and not sure if I'll need one in 11 days which is my 1st opportunity. I sampled what I wanted on Thanksgiving, gained a pound and burned it off in the gym Friday. Just got home home a great workout at the gym this morning to complete my 210 exercise minutes per week. I continue to be amazed at how well my band is working and that four small meals a day keep me satisfied. TBM -

Thanksgiving With The Lap Band
thebandedman replied to helen098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I plan to try a little of each my favorites and not have to beach myself after dinner like in past years. I'm the cook so I know what I put in the food and which are the healthiest. My ham is done and I had some of it with an egg in a Breakfast burrito. That was a 261 calorie and 24 Protein meal. Looking forward to a little pecan pie. The first real sweet since my pre-op diet . Gas Pains Help after Lap Band Surgery
thebandedman replied to Snowpixie1965's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day five was the worst gas pain for me then it eased up. Walking does help. Also keep a heating pad on your shoulder when resting and take your pain meds as needed. I used more pain med for my shoulder than for any of the stomach incisions. TBM -

thebandedman replied to DustyRider's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Welcome to the bandster family. Take it easy, walk as you can, and follow your post-op instructions. Heating pad on the shoulder helps with the gas pain. You should be feeling pretty good in a week. TBM -
