I was banded on 2/20/13. This is my second surgery. My band slipped and my dr. put in an new band. I was on stage 1 liquids for the first week. Now I am on stage 2 pureed. Is that considered mushy/soft foods Does anyone know how long I am on stage 2? And what is the next stage? I am not sure if I follow the same stage pattern as the first time I was banded. Please help!

Stages After Revision
REDDGIRL1209 replied to REDDGIRL1209's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Yes but I thought it was only for first time banding. -
I just had my second surgery on Wed. 2/20 and came home on Fri. 2/22. I am very very sore. Dr. gave me pain meds but they are not helping. My band slipped and so they took out the old one and put in a new one. I am having alot of pain on my left side! My doctor says that I have to have liqueds untill my follow up visit on Tuesday. How long do I have to stay on liqueds after a revision? Do I have to start the steps over again? Sometimes I feel hungry like I want to eat solids but then I get afraid of upseting my stomach. I am not sure how soon i get a fill. But i beleive my band slipped because I was too tight and that's why i was so sick all the time not holding any food or liqueds down. Does anyone have any advise on having a revision and where do i go from here?

I have had two unfills and I am eating twice as much as I did before the surgery. My doctor says my band may have slipped so she took out 6cc. is it possible that all of my Fluid is out? Why am I eating so much? I am due to take a swallow study tommorrow. Even though I am eating now and can hold fluids and food down I still feel nauseated Is it possible that I will need it put back into place? Has this happend to anyone else?

I am post op 10/12/12. I have been having problems. At first I was eating more and my Dr. gave me a fill. Then in 6 weeks he gave me another fill. So far I have had three fills. The problem is that I am eating food and not holding it down. It doesn't even reach my stomach! Not even fluids. My Dr. gave me an unfill last week and one week later I was back for another unfill. She then told me I need a swallow study. If it slipped then they have to go in and correct it. Since my visit I have been eating fine with out vomiting. Not sure what's going on. Would my Dr. be able to tell if my band slipped by pushing on it? Has anyone ever had this problem and what should I expect before and after surgery? Is it possible that they don't see any thing in the swallow test? Someone please help!!

I am post-op surgery October 12, 2012. I just had my second fluid remevol within 2 weeks today. I am not able to hold any fluid or food down. My doctor says I may possibly have a slippage and have to get a swallow test. I was also told possible surgery and have it put back into place. Does anyone know how the slippage is possible? I forgot to ask my doctor about this and what are my options. I also need to know how soon after the removal of fluid can I eat solid food. So far I have not eaten and I am afraid if I try I will vomit. Please help!

I had my surgery 10/12/2012. Almost a year ago! Can't beleive time went so fast! Anyway, I have been having some problems keeping my food down at night. Sometimes when I am sleeping I wake up choking and coughing up mucus or food. Am I eating too late and laying down too soon? Do I need another fill or should I get my band loosend? I am going to the Dr on September 6th. If anyone has had this problem please help! Thanks!

I was banded on 10/12/2011. I am due for my 4th fill in two weeks. I have been having alot of acid reflux and some vomiting. When I eat it seems like my food gets stuck in my espophogus and will not move down. This hurts really bad! During surgery I had my hiatal hernia repaired. Not sure if it's from that or something else. When I swallow my food it will not move. And when I vomit I have more mucus than food coming out. I take Prilosec every morning. I try to eat slow but sometimes get a little to anxious and eat too quickly! Is my band too tight? Is there anything I can do or change to prevent this from happening?

Acid Reflux Problems

Maybe you are right. It may not be acid reflux. I wonder what it could be? -
I had my surgery on 10/12/11. So far everything has been good The only problem I'm having is that I have been a eating a little more than usual. At times I over eat, I sometimes eat too fast as well and I feel my port get a little hard. Is that normal? I'm due for my 2nd fill on 1/19/12.

Yesterday I had my first fill. My surgery date was October 12th I was originally scheduled on December 1st for my first fill. Because of the holidays they scheduled it yesterday. The problem I'm having is that I did not eat yesterday at all. Then I went on clear liqueds untill today. Since then I have been feeling nauseated and have no appetite. I did try to eat a peice of toast this morning and feel a little better. I have a problem eating three meals a day. I don't feel hungry and end up eating once a day but I include my shakes as well. Is it normal for me to feel nauseated after my fill? Please help?

Post Op Dr. Visit
REDDGIRL1209 replied to REDDGIRL1209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery went well. Didn't tolerate the pain very well and had a little issue with my BP. I also did not expect to have so much gas. Not sure why I have this appointment, but i guess I will find out on Thursday. -
I have been post op lap band surgery since 10/12/11. The doctor repaired a hiatal hernia. I have a lot of gas and my stomach feels very tight at times. i also have alot of pain in my shoulder. Is this normal? What is normal after surgery?

I had my surgery October 12th and I still have some gas. The pain in my shoulder finally went away!! Whew! But I feel constipated. I moved my bowels only once since surgery. I must say I feel great!!! Since the surgery I have lost 10lbs but now I'm on the stage III diet (pureed only) and it seems like my weight loss has stopped or slowed down. Is this normal? <a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wSt8FyV/"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wSt8FyV/weight
