Just got back from my one month follow up and I have lost 15 pounds. Not what I had hoped for but it's weight I'll never seen again. I had been on antibiotics during week two and they said that slowed down my loss. Hopefully things will start moving now. I have also been released for all physical activities and returning to work and can now introduce foods one at a time. So thankful to be getting back to a more normal life. Zumba classes here I come.

Complications With Sleeve
bratvp63 replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As in any situation you will usually only hear about the bad things. For every person who has had complications there are hundreds that have had successes. It is a personal decision and only you can make it. I wish you the best of luck and if you'd like to talk offline I would be happy to. -
Hi! Nice to know there are at least a couple of people close by. I'm in the Portland area. We're you sleeved in WA?

When Did You Eat Salad?
bratvp63 replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can start adding salad in starting Tuesday. I have been craving the seared ahi salad from cheese cake factory. I too have been longing for salad since week 2 but have followed my plan. I don't meet with my NUT until I'm six weeks out. Have my first post surgery followup this Thursday. I hope to God that the scale will start moving again. Have been in the dreaded third week stall. -
Growling is normal, I still have it along with occasional hiccups.

My doc said at least 10 days. Got impatient and hot tubbed on day 9. It was amazing.

I use a straw and have no problems what so ever.

It's Time For Your Flame Free Friday Confession!
bratvp63 replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter graduated from trade school Tuesday and they had a potluck and she asked me to make my kahlua orange fudge cake which I did. Wednesday night I had a little sliver with cool whip. Not going to lie, it was amazing. Totally beat myself up afterwards but have not had any since and there is still some left. Before surgery I would have have a couple of pieces a day and not thought twice about it. -
March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?
bratvp63 replied to DDFinn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too was sleeved on the 19th and have lost only 12 pounds and have been at the same weight for a week and a half. I'm very frustrated, I thought I would have lost alot more by now. I have 180+ pounds to lose so I thought it might come off more quickly in the beginning. I am super thankful that my surgery went flawlessly and I have had no problems, no pain, no vomitting. -
I have a glass digital one that is branded from the biggest losers. It is actually within a half pound of the one from the doctors office. I think target has them.

3 Weeks Post Ope And Stalled For 2 Weeks Now! :(
bratvp63 replied to bella143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am with you all, just finished week 3 and have only lost 13 pounds since surgery. I am frustrated and wonder if this is really going to work for me. It also doesn't help that I have bronchitis too. I think I'm a little depressed. I was so excited to get the surgery and just watch the weight drop off and it just isn't happening. I think my expectations were way tooo high. -

OMG you look fantastic! Totally 10 years younger! Congrats on your hard work. -
If you do a brunch you could do a crust less quiche. Very simple and easy to get down.

Day two was the worst, 17 days out and doing great.

Not Losing Weight
bratvp63 replied to ashleystanley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I'm not alone. I had surgery on the 19th and I'm down 12 pounds and it seems to be stuck there. I'm headed back to work on the 23rd and was hoping to be down a bit more. At my weight 12 pounds does not show and I don't want to have to field those questions and looks from people who know what I had done and can't tell any difference. I feel like a failure at this point. -
I had done Jenny Craig back in 91 and I lost 80 pounds and kept it off for a year, then I got pregnant with twins and blew it all to hell. I went back twice after that and could never get the same results. I ended up gaining it all back and more. I was sleeved 3/19 and I know I have made the best decision of my life. No more yoyo diets for me!

It depends on the person and your weight. I am supposed to get 100g and let me tell you it is tough to get that much in.

Hey Dooter - yes I had postponed due to a house fire and I'm really glad I did. I was so not ready emotionally in February to go through this. I'm in a much better place now.
