Hi! I am 5'7" and started at 358. Had surgery exactly 6 months ago today and I have lost 90 pounds. Still have a long way to go but am so pleased how things have gone so far. Am taking pictures later today and will post my 6 month progress. I hope there is a noticeable difference in the photos.

First of all you need to drop "only" from your vocabulary. You have lost 98 pounds!!! That is amazing! Those are pounds you will never see again. Second of all if you can keep protein snacks like string cheese or boiled eggs or cottage cheese around those are great go to foods. When that doesn't work for me I always have mint gum handy. Chew some and the mint sooths your tummy and the sweetness it a plus. Besides when your mouth is minty fresh who wants to eat on top of that. Congrats on the great weight loss and keep it going. I know you'll do great!

No leak test here either. Dr Patterson doesn't do them. She heads the center of Excellance here in Oregon. -
Whats On Your Bucket List?
bratvp63 replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone has such great lists. Here are a few of mine. 1) take a two week vacation with my hubby to Hawaii. Not having to use a seat belt extension and feeling comfortable in shorts and a swimsuit. 2) clubbing with the girls and wearing an outfit that turns the guys heads. 3) attending a steelers game for the first time and not worry if I'll fit in the seats. 4) Know that my kids are proud to be seen with me. 5) tour Europe -
Thank you to all, I really appreciate your support. I am definately going to get better fitting outfits and wow them next week.

I am 5'7" and weighed 335 on surgery day and I had laposcop surgery with NO complications what so ever. I have lost 83 pounds since starting this journey. It is totally possible for your sister if she can find a good qualified surgeon.

I just turned 49 and was really worried I would have lots of wrinkles but to my amazement I don't. People tell me I look younger now. Hopefully you'll be the same.

Help On Weight Loss
bratvp63 replied to louise aussie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 3/19 and have lost 83 which is only about half of what I need to lose. I think it will slow down as you get closer to goal weight. Have you added exercise into your schedule? -
Just checking in....I was sleeved two weeks before my 49th bday back in March. I am down 83 pounds and am so thankful that I had this done. Almost to my half way mark in 6 months and am hoping to make goal within a year. The next 6 months will be harder but I am up for the challenge.

I Found The Culprit!

Chewable centrum is the way to go, have had no problems with it. -
I have mine ticked away for now. I am almost at my halfway point and don't want to size it more than once. When I was pregnant with the twins I had to have it cut off and then repaired and resized up. Not sure how much they can take. I wear a different ring now in its place untill I feel comfortable enough to have them size mine.

Good for you! I can't believe how much better I feel. I seem to walk taller, smile more, make eye contact now with people and cross my legs whenever I can. I love this new life.
-
Isn't that a great feeling? Keep up the good work!
-
Nate, that is so awesome! Keep up the good work. You will feel so much better every pound that comes off. Congrats!
-

-
BigCraig...you are down 160 pounds since this March? Holy Crap Batman! You are d'man!
-
Congrats! You are doing great!!! I too know this feeling, started in march at 358 and today at 278. Can't wait for the next 80 pounds to come rolling off! Keep up the good work!

I love this! I can't wait to actually weigh what my license says and when it expires I'll be able to turn that number down and get rid of that fat girl in the picture.

I had told myself that my reward for reaching 100 pound weight loss was to finally get a tattoo. I'm getting close to that goal and am getting excited. I am getting a small one on my back over the right shoulder blade. My concern is that I still have another 100 pounds to go and am worried it could change the shape of look of the tattoo. Suggestions or comments??? Please!?!

Thanks to everyone, I think I will wait. My mother is a watercolor artist and I'm going to have her come up with a floral design that they can duplicate so that way i'll always have a piece of her with me. I appreciate everyone's response.

I'm going to Best Buy today to pick it up. I can hardly wait. I love to dance so this should really keep my interest going. I'm hoping my daughter will do it with me.

Same here, works on the laptop and it shows I have updates to my threads but on my iPhone it comes up with an empty list.

Tired Of The "when Can You Have___ Again?" Questions
bratvp63 replied to gustavo52974's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that telling people that I can still eat what ever I want just much smaller quantities but that I am choosing to eat healthier seems to go over much better. They seem to accept my choice to eat this way rather than it being a restriction.
