I haven't gotten a Lapband yet. I'm just considering it. I am 47 years old. I have cardiomyopathy, low thyroid, painful knee joints and arthritis in my back. I am about 80 lbs overweight. I have been overweight and dieting since I was about 12 years old. I lose some then gain it all back and more. I can't lose any weight now. I'm depressed and miserable. I am eligible for this surgery and I'm told my HMO will pay for it, but I don't know if I should do it or not. I would really appreciate any information you can give me. Do most of you think it was worth it? If some of you don't think it was worth it, please let me know. I'm becoming desperate to lose weight, but I'm scared.
