I've been very successful at losing weight in the past. The part I'm not good at is keeping it off. I decided to have WLS after talking with my Mom about a relative of ours who had success with WLS and has kept the weight off. I am lucky that there is a fantastic clinic in Portland, OR where I live. I'm also lucky that my insurance covers the surgery! I've been in the process for about 6 months now, and my tentative surgery date is Dec 21st, 2011. I know I have to do the work, but I'm hoping that the lap band will be my insurance policy for keeping the weight off this time. I am most happy when I'm living an active lifestyle, and this time - when I get to my actual goal weight for the first time ever - I will have incorporated the exercise and eating that it takes to keep it off for the rest of my life.
