I recently received an email from slimband (had initially considered going to TO for the surgery until I discovered that they did it right here in Winnipeg) and they are offering fairly attractive financing now. I was able to get a portion back on taxes with a letter from my family doctor saying that the surgery was not cosmetic (that I had health reasons to lose weight) as well as a letter from the surgery clinic saying similar things. I didn't get much back but every little bit helped. You might consider a personal loan if you aren't using a clinic that offers financing. Good luck!
Thank you so much, sweetie. That really helped. I have heard that for some people the weight comes back after 2-3 years. Have you heard anything like that? What has your experience been so far? Are you happy you did it? Do you have any regrets??
Thank you:)

Hey!
I live in Montreal and would love to hear how you funded your lapband. Was it affordable? How did/are you handling the installment payments? Have you heard of any cheaper options? I'm on fixed income and for me $16000 is a lot.
Thanks!

i called dr. miller to book a consultation friday and i was told that there was a waiting list so i guess hes gettin busy...where r his surgeries done? at the clinic or at the hospital? whoever has gone to him..how did u pay? did u have to pay in full or u can pay in installments?how long does the surgery take?
Hey!
I'm considering the lap band, and anything you have to say is really useful for me. I would really love it if you could tell me how you managed the payment (if paid out of pocket). I'm on a fixed income and 16000 would be a huge hardship for me. Please let me know how you are managing the finances and whether you thought it was do-able.
Dr. Miller seems like the one to go with from all the talk! That's really helpful, thanks:)
