Honestly if it were me I would remove it but I would not get the sleeve either I just can't see having 80% of my stomach removed forever what if u have complication with sleeve they can't replace it. But think about it maybe give it one more try I still haven't learned to love my band its been 3 weeks since I have been banded and still haven't gotten any fills but if I loved my band as u say u do then I wouldn't let it go.

You should be happy that u feel restriction because I am 3 weeks post op and don't feel no restriction at all, like someone just mention I feel as I am doing this on my own no help from my band but I hope when i get my first fill it will get better.

Don't get me wrong is not that I'm eating bad choices is just that I don't feel full I am suppose to be in stage 2 and eating 2oz of food which sometimes I do but its not fulling at all. I just feel as though I don't have a lap band. I can't wait till I get a fill and maybe I will feel better. I know the band is a tool but at this time i feel like I'm on a regular strict diet without a band.

Well I am 3 weeks post op today was wondering if there are any ppl from the Bronx or White plains NY I really need some motivation. I was really excited about the band before I got it but now I am not sure. I don't have any restrictions what so ever and feeling like this was a waste I know I have to wait for my fill to feel some type of restriction but it can come to soon. I just want not to be hungry God this is why I did this. Any advise will be appreciated!!!!

my doctor told me a month!

I'm sure this question has already been asked but I couldn't find it.. I make two week tomorrow and saw my doctor today for first follow up I was given an apt in a month but not for a fill just to see the PA! then she said maybe two weeks after that for a fill. I'm like are u serious I really thought it would be sooner. What has been your experience?

same thing happened to me except it was a nurse that told me I should get the bypass not the band, also the first doctor I saw said the same thing but guess what I ignored them I decided to get band which I did and it has been two week already I have lost 13 pounds and will continue... I like a challenge so I did what i wanted. Like someone mentioned I didn't want any piece cut or removed from my body. Let it be what God wants that what I say.

I was band 10/4 I lost 13 pounds the first week and nothing this week I think it is normal I heard after the fill it should get better I too am a little upset but good luck!

I just got back from my doctor she told me it was ok to eat pureed food so I am happy.

I was told I can't drink for the first 6 months is this true if so why? I'm thinking about thanks giving I usually have wine and was wondering if it would be ok. also can anyone tell me their experience with alcohol after being banded thank you in advance!

I don't know about you but to me if I decide to have a drink or two it doesn't mean I am going to give up on my goals. And yes I don't have to drink to be happy but I do like having a drink when I want to. My life doesn't revolve around my lap band it is only a tool and I plan to use it as such it doesn't define me... I got my band mainly for one reason and that reason wasn't to stop living. I do appreciate you opinion but it is just that your opinion. The reality is that yes I would love to lose some weight but being skinny is not my ultimate goal.

I felt the same way and did the same as you did and continue doing the same, my surgery was the 4th I am 12 post op. I was suppose to be on liquids for 3 weeks but it was impossible I got to a point that I cried because I was starving my follow up appt is tomorrow will let my Doctor know tomorrow will let u know what she says... I felt the same way but I did it! I wasn't afraid of going under the knife but I was more afraid of this not working but I did it. I can honestly say I'm not 100 percent sure if i'm happy yet its only been 11days I have lost 14 pounds already tho. I'm not happy of the hunger that I feel I can't wait for my fill then maybe things will get better... As far as the surgery it self it wasn't painful at all so if that's what u afraid of don't worry...

Hi I was banded on October 4,2011 all was going great until my 5th day I was so hunger a better work is starving which I hated because the whole purpose I got the band was so that I won't feel hungry... I was getting depress and that is something I don't want to be so I decided to eat and I did, it made me feel so much better but at the same time I'm kind of disappointed I even for that moment regretted having the procedure done. Don't get me wrong I ate and continue to eat but I make good choices as far as what I eat is just that i'm suppose to be on liquids so 3 weeks and sorry to say I couldn't do it. I however have lost 13 pounds so far I am happy about it but at the same time I know I'm eating soft or solid foods when i'm suppose to be on liquids and that is dragging me down. I just wish I have a fill to I wont feel hungry! The truth is that when I felt so hungry I even broken down in tears because like i said I didn't think I was going to feel hungry. I just hope in the near future I will feel better about the choice I made!

Thank you! I also had a doctor that put me on puree right after surgery. I went the first 2 days on liquid then to puree on day 3, then by one week post op he put me on soft foods. I had surgery in march and am down 70 pounds. I hope that helps to motivate you as well. Thank you for reply I will speck to my doctor on Monday which is my follow up appt. I will view your gallery now thanks again. My doc put me on puree or soft about 5 days post op, so I would call him/her because they might say its ok. As for motivation: you should check out the photo I just put in my gallery The beging is hard. I didn't feel "full" for a decent time untill i was at 5cc's. My last fill I think was at the end of june (7cc's) and I am still losing weight and only eating small amounts. Everyone is different, just hang in there, get to know how your band works with you and your body.

Yes but that didn't help I see my doctor on Tuesday will explain to her what happened. Can't wait to get a fill maybe that will help

I have lost 13 pounds already n I'm happy about that but I'm suppose to be on liquids for three weeks n couldn't make it I was starving to the point that I cried n cried until the next day I had to eat something n felt much better. Now everyday I'm doing the same not bad choices but not liquids. I do this once a day liquids most of the day but soft or solid one time a day if needed. It could be fish or an egg or soup not just the broth but I really don't know what to feel.
