Any body have problems eating first thing in the morning? I have a saying its like the kitchen is closed. It takes time over the day to accept food by supper kitchen is open. I can eat without problems.

Yes my breakfast mostly consists of cottage cheese and and sugar free strawberry preserves then coffee about 10am I can handle that. Can't handle any breads although I can have sandwich thins toasted well. Nothing doughy

PREOP LIQUID FAST DAY 4. I AM NOT LOSING THE WEIGHT. I AM FOLLOWING THE DIET 98% 5 OPTIFAST A DAY AND LIQUIDS. THE ONLY THING EXTRA I HAVE EATEN IS ON THE FIRST DAY 2 HARD BOILED EGG WHITES ONLY A BABY CARROT AND A CHERRY TOMATOE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY DR AND I HAVE TO INCREASE MY FLUIDS TO MAKE SURE I MEET 64 FL OZ. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE NOT LOST ANYTHING. IF I DONT LOSE 10 LBS BY 10/27 THEY WONT DO THE SURGERY. HELP WHAT AM I DOING WRONG. AND IF I CANT LOSE THIS WAY HOW WILL I LOSE WITH THE BAND? MAMADUKES

I too am going to have my surgery on 10/27/11. I am looking for support near where I live in New Port Richey. I went to a seminar in Tarpon in august with Dr. Small but I am a self pay and couldnt work it out with them. I am having it done at Memorial Hospital in Tamp with Dr. Aguilia. How are you doing on the pre op diet and what did he give you? Wishing you the best of luck and health. Keep me posted !

Hi Jojamel, thank you for adding me ! I just joined this forum and need a lot of support. So happy your surgery went well. Mine is Oct 27, 2011. I am not at all anxious re; surgery but very anxiety ridden because I read all the ppl who drop 10 lbs or more in the first week of pre op diet I am on the Optifast 5 a day with 64oz liquids. I have been on this since Tuesday and only 4 pounds down.

How are you doing today? I am down 4 pounds and they came within the last 2 days. Day 5 tomorrow of pre op diet. I too dont miss the food just the habit of opening the fridge and looking for something. I have to keep my eye on the prize, a new healthy me ! -

My surgery is scheduled for October 27th, 2011. It cannot come fast enough. I started my preop last tuesday 10/11/11. Optifast 5 a day and 64 oz of zero calorie liquids. I am on day number 4 and looks like 4 pounds lost. I have no cheats. Many other posts have lost up to 10lbs by day number 5. I dont mind the liquid diet at all, I just dont understand why the weight is not dropping. Anyway I have a good support system and I am taking it one day at a time. I love the vanilla shake with instant coffe in it! Good Luck to all who are before me! -
I actually started the sugar free Jello tonite, and beef bullion. I went to the pool and swam for 45 min and am going again tomorrow and sunday. I pray i lose a pound or two...thats all I am looking for just something to say hey its working. Thank you for your helping me. How long did it take to do the 25lbs? Carole

I am sticking with this and not straying although I am very much uptight not seeing weight loss. I am in the bathroom every 20 min peeing my brains out, lol I am very much have my heart and hopes set on Monday 10/17/11 I will be down a few pounds. I am on the Optifast with no food. today got on the scale looks like 1/2 and peeing my brains out every 20 minutes. Just got back from the pool swam for 45 min. The question that is really bothering me now is.. 800, 900 calories are just that whether liquid or solids. If I am not losing now how will I lose when banded. I am paying for this so I am motivated and I am sticking to the diet as instructed. Hoping by Monday when I have to call my doctor I will have better news. Thank you so much for your input. I dont feel so alone. -

I am also struggling with this issue. My surgery is schuled for 10/27/11 so far I have only told my 2 sisters and my children. I wasn't even going to tell them but my visit to the psychologist made me think alot on my reasons,( which of course is fear of failure yet again) and it was nobodys business but my own. Although surgery is pretty safe with any surgery their are risk and as he said to me; Don't take from them the opportunity to say, I love you Ma. If anything ever happened I would have denied them our last love you's. Reading these blogs have helped me think about telling ppl after surgery with their questions. "Shame" is a biggie. I have much to think about and re "coming out of the closet" and it does take a very stong person to do this !!
