Just made it to ONE-derland! (Does anyone remember that song, Boogie Wonderland by Earth, Wind, & Fire??) Well, I been singing it all day. Yesterday, I weighed in at 200.0 pounds, but this morning I weighed in at 199.6. To celebrate, I bought myself a cute blouse in a medium (and I must say I look super cute in it); it's off the shoulders with a mixture of blue colors and I'm gonna wear it with my skinny jeans when I cook this Wednesday for my family. I must add, I didn't get here easily. It's been the gym 5 days a week (sometimes there at 4:00am), watching and logging what I eat, along with a mixture of stalls and even a few weight gain weeks, and of course I work full-time and I am pursuing a master's degree. When I don't hit the gym, the scale does NOT move (even with the sleeve). So I'm gonna celebrate my new super cuteness then hit the gym again to get the next 64.6 pounds off! ...dancing in boogie ONE-derland...

I thought I'd happy to nickname myself "Sippy," but I'm glad to say that in time, I was able to drink normally again and so will you. -

150 Lbs Gone In 206 Days Since My Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Congratulations! You are doing an amazing job, thanks for posting. -
I'm 4 weeks out and more than 6-8 ounces during my workouts makes me nauesated and crampy. Before surgery I drank 8-20 ounces easy. Do what feels right for now and maybe try to pre-hydrate for your workouts.

Questions About Constipation
ann_franc replied to Estella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About a week without a bowel movement post op is normal and the first one will probably small anyway. I did 2 weeks of pre op liquids, nothing by mouth for the day of surgery and one day after surgery; when I did start "eating" I could only drink about 30 cc of liquid at 15-30 minute intervals, so I was not worried about not having a BM. What was your pre op diet and what is your current intake, consider these before you think you really "constipated." And Milk of Magnesis is great, too. Good luck! -

Gastric Sleeve Swelling
ann_franc replied to aztecmaverick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That seems super early to be on those types of foods. I don't start those kinds of foods until I'm at 5-6 weeks post op. Currently I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and I'm taking clear to full liquids and creamy soups that have been strained. I would suggest you discuss how you feel with your doctor and if you still feel like that, I would probably scale back on the types of foods you are eating. You will be swollen for a while and those foods have to go down a swollen little funnel (and you don't want to be streching that new pouch out so soon). Best regards! -

LOL! I hoping it will slow down, too, but it hasn't yet for me and I'm 2 weeks out. Good luck! :Banane57:

Question
ann_franc replied to FaithfulIntercessor99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Warm liquids seem to go down better for me. And I double or triple up my Protein. For example, 8 ounces of 1% milk = 8 grams of protein, 1 packet of carnation instant breakfast mix - 5 grams of protein, and 1 scoop of Jay Robb's whey protein = 25 grams of protein. I mix all this together and wham, a totally of 38 grams of protein in my 8 ounce morning shake. You can add more milk to it as I sometimes do, up to 12 ounces of milk and that makes the shake not too thick and ups the protein content again. Two shakes twice a day is 76 grams of protein. Hope this helps. Try powering up your protein, but always make sure your sleeve is comfortable, best to you!
