It is good to hear you are doing well after surgery, but I'm sorry about the gas pains. From all the posts I have read, walking is the best thing to get rid of the gas. Luckily I didn't have that much of a problem with it. Please continue to update on your progress. -
I didn't really puree my tuna, but I did mix it well enough that is was very fine. I ate tuna salad, so I used the new lite kraft mayo with olive oil and some no-sugar added sweet relish. It was good and definite welcome change from liquids. I made chicken salad this morning, and I DID put that in the food processor to get the chicken chopped enough.

Congratulations! It will be worth the wait! Good Luck!

I understand completely! I went for 7 days straight....now... only gone once in the last 3 days:angry: It's probably because I don't eat enough food. I hope you stop soon!!!!

ROFLMAO!!!!! THANK YOU! That was my good laugh for the day! -
Hey! Sorry, I remember that feeling. Try some cream of chicken soup. Add a can of skim milk instead of water when you heat. Also add a little garlic powder and sage. The taste is more satisfying this way. My 16 yr old liked it so much she took it to work for lunch the day I made it. I am sorry for your discomfort. My dr, fortunately, allowed me to move on to mushies after day 8, but each surgeon is different. Hang in there, it will be better!

My surgery is in the morning!!
crzytchr replied to kw3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am sorry I missed both of you before surgery! Please let everyone know how it went when you feel up to posting! -
You will definitely have my prayers. Food is something we must face everyday. It is an addiction that can not be avoided. Are you able to exercise? It may help you feel better. It works for me. If not, try to eat something allowed that is protein, then immediately find something to fill your time...read, listen to music, find someone to give you a massage, pray. It isn't going to be easy to stop old habits. Believe me, I know. Also, a question...Even though you are making bad choices, are you eating less of them? If not, you need to try to get your first fill scheduled. Good Luck! I will be praying for you.

Hi skinny mike! I am not sure about how to post the pic, but for the ticker you can click on mine below and it should take you to the website. Then create your own. When it is complete you will have a page that gives you codes. Copy and paste the first code (for forums) in the edit signature portion of your profile. You can type in your band date and other info before you post the code for the ticker. Good Luck!

Wow! You are doing great! I didn't recover quite as well the first week. I hurt bad. I have 6 incisions. Only the big one hurts, though. I am much better now and I am going to the gym. I find the biggest problem is trying to get enough fluids and calories in me. Imagine that! I used to drink 72 oz of coffee everyday plus more! Keep up the good work!

Who's up for a 'Vegas reunion' party in 2010
crzytchr replied to siouxsie sioux's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have never been to Vegas....mmmmm....that's a strong maybe. I am a teacher, so I could only go if it falls during a break or long weekend. It sounds like soooo much fun! I think we will all be making plastic surgery plans by then! Keep me updated. -
How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
crzytchr replied to lotzasunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats! I also had no preop diet. I have lost 13 lbs since my preop appt weigh in at the dietitian. I have probably lost more than that since surgery since my surgery day weight was probably higher than the preop weight 11 days earlier, because I ate anything and everything that didn't eat me first before surgery!!!!! I am eating mushies now, but I am not nearly consuming enough calories. I also began going to the gym 3 days ago. -
Congratulations! MEN! That is all they think about. The weight loss is really helping. Keep up the good work!
-
I noticed it also. I feel it is due to our urine being stronger, due to our decreased fluid intake. What you see in the toilet (sorry) may not be dark, but that is because the amount being output isn't alot so it appears to be paler than it actually is. I slowly increased my water intake and it is getting better. How much water/fluids are you getting. I was maybe getting 24 oz until the last few days.

Switch to mushies early??
crzytchr replied to lotzasunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr allowed mushies after day 8 if I could keep the test meal (scrambled egg)down. I did, so now I am eating scrambled eggs, sf pudding, and tuna salad (very finely chopped). I think each surgeon is different. I am doing fine so far on this, but definitely stick with what your dr says. Good Luck! Call, maybe he will feel you are ready to move on. -
Looking for someone banded on the 14th July 2008
crzytchr replied to tkelsey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi! I was banded on the 14th. I progressed to soft foods on day 8 (my dr. allowed a test meal on day 8, a scrambled egg). I have lost 13 lbs since pre op. My dr. did not require a pre surgery diet, so all weight lost is since my weigh in which was 11 days prior to surgery. To be honest I have probably lost more, because I ate anything and everything prior to my surgery. :/ I have had quite a bit of soreness but felt better yesterday enough to go to they gym. I also went this morning. Good Luck! -
For recent bandsters...
crzytchr replied to missrach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am having a hard time getting enough protein. I have the new whey bullets. They don't taste bad, but they have an after taste that I'm not too fond of. I am consuming maybe 300-400 calories per day . I am eating tuna salad (2 oz at a time) and sf pudding. I am not getting nearly enough water. GRRRRRRR!!!! I am getting a little better each day, so hopefully by next week I can get enough water to thoroughly hydrate me. -
I was banded on the 14th. I wanted the sleeve, but my insurance would not pay for it. I have two teenagers and could not afford to self pay it. I am, however, happy with my band experience so far. The fact that most sleeved patients don't even think about food was the biggest motivating factor that had me desiring the sleeve instead of the band.

Those who have been banded, what are you eating?
crzytchr replied to zeama's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on the 14th. My dietitian at pre op said my dr allowed a test meal on day 8 if I was STARVING. I ask you, who ISN'T starving after 7 days of liquids?????!!!! This test meal is a scrambled egg. She said if i could keep it down I could move on to phase II. So.... on day 8 I ate and kept down my egg so I am now eating soft scrambled eggs, tuna salad and sf pudding. Prior to this I ate clear liquids and then creamy soups. Each dr. has their own preference. I am doing fine and very full eating 2 oz of tuna salad for about 3-4 hours. -
Good luck! I was banded 7/14. I don't mind telling anyone about my decision to have surgery, but the people around me are all supportive. I am sorry your mom is a cause of stress for you. Find people who uplift and support you....maybe HERE! This seems to be a wonderful caring community.
-
It is strictly personal decision whether or not to hide the fact that you are banded. Personally, I don't mind telling anyone. Maybe if I do well, it will help someone else to make positive changes. I think hiding it may be difficult during your liquid phases. After that just say you are watching your portion sizes. Good luck!

Post-Op & 10 days of Liquids....
crzytchr replied to hopea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was banded on July 14th. My dietitian at my pre-op appt. told me if I was "starving" my dr allowed a "test" meal on the 8th day. This consists of a scrambled egg. If I could keep it down, I could move on to phase II. I had that egg this morning and it was the best meal I have ever eaten. Granted, it took 15-20 minutes to eat it, but I was ecstatic. Phase II for the plan they gave me consists of mostly "soft foods". I can have tuna, turkey, or shaved deli meats (all chewed very well or pureed), soft cooked vegetables, creamy soups, yogurt or sugar free pudding ( I am SICK of jello) and protein drinks. SO..... today I had one scrambled egg, 2 oz of tuna salad, 3 oz of sugar free pudding and some protein drink. I think how strict your plan depends on your dr. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
