I think it is cool that you got the tattoo done. I feel that loving and accepting ourselves, where we are now, is the thing that most of us struggle with. Charlene, who is that adorable baby with you? kimaly, I hope you are having fun on your trip!

I definitely think they could build a new school faster than this, but the school was built in 1925 and is considered a historical landmark. I believe there are also plans to build a new gym and a parking garage. I have attached a couple of pics of the original school. The second one is my son standing in front of the school when he was about 7 inches shorter a couple of years ago! Suzie, they are allowing an extra 2 minutes to get to class...gee thanks, huh? I suggested to my son to ask to go during class if he needs to rather than get a tardy, because yes, they get detention and then suspension if they accumulate too many tardies.

Thank you ladies for thinking so highly of me. I really do LOVE what I do, even on the days when it is extremely difficult. Today was the first day of school and it actually flew by. My partner teacher and I didn't get through nearly everything we had planned. Well, there is always tomorrow. This week is for teaching rules and procedures, so we don't HAVE to start real lessons until Monday. Angela, I am glad you slept well last night! Happy Birthday, Macy! My youngest started his junior year today. His high school, which is the same one my daughter graduated from, is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation. It is a big, majestic-looking school that is basically falling apart. So, in order to accomplish this, they have moved all of the students to a high school that was closed 2 years ago. This school was built to hold 700 students. My son's high school has approximately 1400! When we went to orientation last week, I couldn't find any bathrooms or water fountains, but I found out some do exist. Josh came home today and said he found 6 restrooms in the entire school. Each boys' restroom is an 8 x 12 room with one stall and no urinals, plus there are two toilets (not in a stall) in the weight room in the gym. That equals 8 toilets total! The trailers they moved in to help with the overflow of students don't have running water in them, so the bathrooms in them are not usable. In addition to this, only two water fountains could be found and those were located in the gym. Did I forget to remind y'all that I in live in southern Louisiana where the heat index is over 100 each day?!?!?! You live in the heat too, so you know what it is like. If parents complain, they would gladly tell us pull our kids out, since the school has a very long waiting list. It is the number 4 high school in our state and is a nationally ranked school of excellence. Therefore, even though it is outrageous conditions, we are expected to grin and shut up or pull them out. So, my son will finish his last two years of high school like this. Ok, dear friends, I think that was my rant for the week.

Tracy, I started back to work today, and tonight was "prep night". The parents get to come and pay the fees, fill out papers, bring supplies and meet the teachers. It was supposed to be from 5-7, but the last parent didn't leave until 7:40! It made for a long day, since I arrived at work at 7:15 this morning. However, I like the fact that we have parents that care, so it is good. Tomorrow is another teacher work day and the students come on Wednesday. I wish I had an extra $500. I REALLY need to get Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish. I have 6 ELL students and 3 of the parents don't speak English at all. I would love to be able to better communicate with them. Suzie, I loved the pics!

Kimaly, I bought my shapeups around march and they are the most comfortable things I own. I got the black ones and I wear them with my black school pants. I can walk around my class all day and my feet still dont hurt. Let me know how the juicer thing works for you. I am not a big veggie juice person I like fruit juice, but the whole V-8 thing never did it for me. Marie, congrats on the weight loss, you are definitely on the right track.

Tracy, my MIL wore a monitor like that for a month. If I remember correctly, she had to plug it into her phone and it would send the data to the dr's office. It is gives a much better picture of what is going on than that 24 hr thing they used to do.

Kat, didn't you have a really bad episode with your tinkling parts not too long ago? I hope you feel better soon so you can have fun on your trip. Well, ladies, when it rains it pours...figuratively and literally. Electricity was out for over 3 hours last night and it was enough to let my house get to over 83 degrees. It was awful. Also, my mouth has been giving me problems and I though it was just a sensitivity issue, so I used sensodyne toothpaste and went through the tube in a month. Well, my mouth still hurt so bad at times that I nearly cried. Today, in the pouring rain, I went to the dentist and found out I needed a root canal...yep, $1600. Obviously my dentist doesn't care that my daughter is starting LSU this fall and also has expensive car insurance. Luckily my dental insurance covered $800 and I have my flexible spending account money for health stuff that covered the rest. I have spent a total of $1300 of that fsa money in 2 days! I am just glad that I have it taken out from each paycheck. I just don't seem to miss it that way. Since, 3 people canceled their dental appts this morning he was able to go ahead and do the work today, including the temporary crown (2 hours in the dental chair) Luckily my dentist is a major hottie, 40ish with sexy gray hair and gorgeous blue eyes. Really, y'all, he is worth driving many miles for. That, along with the nitrous, made the visit not too terrible. Now, however, I am hurting even after taking the Lorcet. I will try to check back in later.

Hello ladies Well, my daughter finally got her license Thursday, which means I needed to turn over the 2009 Corolla to her, which I did. This meant I needed a new car, which my son will get when he graduates in 2012. So, I went and bought a 2010 black corolla. It is cute. The only thing that killed me was the insurance. The insurance isn't too much on the car, but since my daughter got her license, she had to be factored into my policy now. . . Yes, it made me cry. $2,000 extra per year just to add her!!!!!! So, my dear people, I know pay almost $5,000 a year in car insurance. That was after increasing my deductible and dropping some extra stuff. It was going to be $5900. Teenagers are expensive.

Michelle, I hope your birthday was a fun one and good luck with your last day of work. Jenn, you are setting a wonderful example for your daughter right now by taking steps to advance your career. Tracy, my dad had bypass a year ago and has done very well so far. He hadn't had any problems until the ulcers were diagnosed a little less than a month ago. Problem with the ulcers is, that since his stomach is so small, now the two ulcers cover a good portion of it. He still would do the surgery all over again. He is like a new man. If your insurance covers it and you have thought it through, go for it. Just please be sure to take the supplements EVERY DAY. Good luck. Kat, I am glad things are quiet. Did you ever find out anything else about the cape? That sounded creepy! Angela, how did your some come out with the summer school work? Terri, take it slow. What kind of post op diet are you on? Suzie, have fun swimming! SOS with me all the time. Sick so I went to the doctor on Monday...steroid, antibiotic and cough medicine. Oh, well, my son has orientation today and an orthodontist appt. I need to get my shower and start my day. Have a good one, y'all!

I'm home. She is doing well and was discharged this morning. I didn't want to get stuck driving in a lot of rain so I came home today. Yesterday my dad had to take my mom to the ER. She was having a major delusional episode. They did a ct scan and did some tests and her Alzheimer's is in the advanced stage. The doc told us we are looking at 2 years at the most. She isn't retaining anything and he said we should be looking for a home, because she will need it soon. We have a good one, not far from my dad's house, but it is 3,000 per month private pay. Jeez...Well, ladies, I am going to get a shower. Oh, Kat, that is some scary stuff happening to you right now. Sorry. I hope it gets straightened out soon.

It could be an attention thing, but some of them are probably full-fledged "furries". There was actually a CSI episode that was about furries (had no clue that this existed until then). So, yeah, it could be a sexual statement. google furries and see what you find. I am leaving in a few for my 5 days without Starbucks or internet. See y'all Sunday.

Tracy, I saw the Last Airbender also and enjoyed it, even though the acting wasn't that great. My son and brother, however, were fans of the Nickelodeon series and they hated the movie. Oh well, it entertained me. Suzanne, it sounds like you enjoyed the outdoors a little too much. I hope it feels better soon. mscpotts, I am not sure if there is a specific thread for that, but you can find support here. I posted a link to a thread that you may want to read and join, also. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/getting-back-track-113687/ Well, I have a new toy. An 8G Ipod Touch. My daughter bought her mac book yesterday and if you bought an I touch and a printer, you got a rebate back for each. It was the good kind of rebate that I filled out the paperwork on the computer there at the apple store so I don't NOT do it, which is what usually happens. So, basically, I got a $200 Ipod and my daughter got a $100 wireless computer free (except for the 9%tax) Not bad. I have been playing with it and adding old music (mostly 80s) to it since yesterday. My stepdaughter is having her hysterectomy on Wednesday morning, so I am spending 5 days at her house in Mississippi to help take care of the grandkids. Poor thing. The doc found 2 tumors 4 weeks ago, and then when he rechecked last week because she was having severe cramps and passing clots, he found she now has 6. It kind of sent up a big warning sign, so he said she has to have it taken out. Hopefully when this is all over she will feel a lot better. I know it made a huge difference in me after I had mine last year. Oh, and that means no internet for 5 DAYS!!! I don't think I have been without my internet for 5 days, well, since I got the internet about 15 years ago...:scared2: I have 4 James Patterson books to bring with me. Between that and the grandkids, I should survive....

Despicable Me is awesome! My kids and I went to the midnight showing when it started and it was worth staying up for. We also did the midnight showing of Eclipse. It is much better than the first two movies in the Twilight series. It isn't great, but it is also worth seeing.

Well ladies, be jealous, because I am going to Chuck E Cheese's tomorrow. For, I swear I am telling the truth, my husband's birthday. Yes, he wants to go to Chuck E Cheese. I have always suspected that I married a 10 year old, and now I know I did. My dd's boyfriend and best friend are so excited and going also. Yes, they are 18, at least in actual years. Then Sunday, we are going to my inlaws for my dh and my mil's bdays. MIL's is tomorrow and dh's is monday.

Congratulations kimaly! Cynthia, I am glad you are on the forum. You have done a fabulous job with your weight loss so far especially considering that you have definitely had a rough year. It is hard losing a parent and then to have your own health haywire makes it harder. My stepdaughter was having some crazy health issues. They were going back and forth between Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Her tests always come back mixed. She is fine for about 6 weeks and then she will have a week where she can barely walk. Please update next week when you get your results from the nerve biopsy.

Congratulations on the bandiversary weight loss blaze and 2good! Well, ladies, with my bandiversary approaching, I have to admit that I suck at this right now. I have only lost 14 lbs this past year. I am glad that I haven't gained, but come on, really? It is my own fault. I need to call and get a "teeny, tiny" fill and then exercise. If I did this, I am certain that I could lose again. UGH, I guess I will call Monday. Good luck ladies!

Kat: I am glad to hear the surgery went well. Suzanne: it sounds like you weekend is going to be a blast! Have a great time. Michelle: It is good to hear that you and your manager are doing well now. You were excited about getting the job and it mad me sad to hear you weren't happy. Tracy: I am glad your move went well and it feels like "home". No, I don't have any vacation plans. Honestly, I just can't afford it. Alex's fee bill for LSU will be printed on July 19th and is due by Aug 5th. She has the tops scholarship that pays from most of the tuition, but it covers no books or extra fees. Heck, parking alone is $100, then they have technology fees and other such crap. She is taking 6 classes, so the books will be 500-700 dollars. Yeah, I just can't afford a vacation. Ugh. I am enjoying not having summer school, but I still have to get up at the buttcrack of dawn to take my kids to work (27 miles away). Then I spend my day reading, which I love. I am reading a book a day. Nothing thought provoking or helpful, just "reading for fun". My dad had bypass last year and hasn't had any problems from it. He has, however, had really bad stomach pains where he couldn't eat solid foods. I told him to go to the doctor that it sounded like gallstones or an ulcer. He had an ultrasound last week and they found gallstones. Then Thursday he had an endoscopy and they found 2 ulcers ( 1 was 3mm) and a lesion on his esophagus. It is bad enough that his tiny little stomach has 2 ulcers, but the lesion has me concerned. It is medium sized, and, from what my brother and I have read, is almost always cancer. He already has to watch out for my mom with the Alzheimer's. He was feeling better than he had in years from losing the weight and now this. I am trying to convince him to let me go with him to the doctor (opposite problem from you Suzanne). He insists he doesn't need me to. I will persist. I know him. He will go and then not tell any of us what they say because he doesn't want to worry anyone. We are going over to his house again today for my mom's birthday. I will insist he let me go. He thinks he is inconveniencing me, even though I don't act like it. Now I am rambling, sorry. Hopefully I will know more by the end of next week.

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Kat is right. Call a locksmith and see if they can meet you after work or set up an appt for tomorrow or ASAP. Stay with your dad or a friend until this is done and file a restraining order immediately. The safety of you and your children is too important for this to go on. Be careful and be proactive.
