Just see if you can get your fills slowly this time. I haven't been overfilled yet, but I did become tight after my hysterectomy and it wasn't pleasant. I hope your fill goes well. Just remember, if you have ANY doubts about much was filled, have them take a little out before you leave. You can always get a little more put in later. Good luck!

  3. You can use the weights from the beginning of your pregnancies. That should be acceptable. Any doctor visit you went to for any reason would also have a record of your weight. Did you go for your yearly pap? Your ob/gyn will have your weight. Check on it.
  4. You should contact your doctor and find out what he/she says. You may be told to go back to fluids for a few days. I was on regular foods by this point post op also, but I ate less food than that. I was eating less than a cup of food. You ate 1 1/3 cups plus the roll and potato skins. I think you are probably correct in thinking the roll and potato is what pushed you over. Be careful and beware of lettuce, bread, pasta, red meat and potatoes.

  6. I may could've eaten more after my surgery, I'm not sure, because I didn't try. I fixed the recommended amount of 1/4-1/2 c of food, ate it very slowly and "chewed" even though it was mushy, and realized when I finished that I was satisfied. I probably could've eaten more, but I didn't. I know from experience that I will normally eat whatever I put on my plate, so I put on my plate what I was supposed to eat. It has been enough every time. Now, almost 7 months after banding I eat around a cup of food at a time. For example, when I eat pizza, I eat 1 slice of a medium. For dinner tonight, I had two small chicken fingers and 6 French fries. I am more than satisfied, I am FULL! I should've skipped the fries completely. What guidelines for amounts did your surgeon give you for the mushy stage? You may want to fix that amount and try eating it slowly. You may realize that it is enough to satisfy you. Remember, you want to feel satisfied, not really full. Full isn't very fun after being banded.

    Congratulations!!!
  8. Yeah, I agree, you should probably go to your doctor. It sounds like gallstones.
  9. I still eat most things that I loved before. It depends on how much restriction he needs to still eat responsibly. I try really had to not be too restricted, because I don't want to feel punished. I have only had two fills with each one only being 1cc. My favorite food is pizza and I still eat it. The difference is I eat 1 piece from medium pizza instead of 3. I eat spaghetti with whole wheat Pasta. I eat about 3/4 - 1 cup instead of a plateful. I don't eat bread very much other than the crust on my pizza or an occasional biscuit (my weakness). Now, I eat 1 biscuit slowly instead of 4 or 5.
  10. That is good news. The 10 days of liquids should give your stomach time to settle down. Good Luck

    will pbing cause damage?

You may not have coverage to do band testing, but you should be able to go to the doctor if you are having acid reflux. That is a medical issue which may or may not have anything to do with you band. First you probably have a lot of swelling if you are pbing that much. You may need to do fluids for a couple of days. Then you may want to move to the 5 day pouch test. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test Please be certain to slow down and chew well. If you continue to have problems pbing you really need to get an unfill.
  12. Dream, I would probably start logging your food/drinks online to see exactly how much you are consuming each day now. That may give you an idea of what is going on. You may also want to try the 5 day pouch test to get back with the program and start over. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test Good Luck!

    Very curious!!!

Don't be scared to go to your doctor, I am sure it isn't anything he/she hasn't seen before. You may want to try the 5 day pouch test if you think maybe you have stretched your pouch. Many people say it helps to get back on track. Then, after you have completed day 5, if you still feel like you can eat too much, I would call and get a fill. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test
  14. It sounds like when your problems started that you were too tight. I agree with RM, you probably need a small unfill so you can eat the proper healthy foods and start over again. If you are craving chocolate, make homemade hot chocolate. Use Hershey's cocoa and splenda with skim milk, OR sf jello pudding has a dark chocolate flavor that is REALLY good. They are 60 calories each, most nights I eat two of them. If you like hot chocolate, it is better though, because you will get the protein and calcium in the milk.

Real food = no weight loss

Be thankful you have some restriction already, I know I was! If you are only eating 1100-1200 calories per day, the right amount of protein and ARE NOT hungry, you probably don't need a fill yet. Your body is adjusting to eating food again, that is probably why the weight loss stopped for now. I agree that you may want to start exercising a little. That may get you scale moving again. Good Luck.
  16. From what you say, it sounds like you aren't eating enough. Most drs recommend 60-80 g of protein per day, and around 1000 calories. I really think if you could shake your metabolism up by every third day eating around 1200-1300 you will probably start to drop weight.
  17. I would think the taste would get to me. I never thought about asking for a suspension liquid either. It would be worth a try.
  18. You need to contact your PCP to make sure it is ok to take the medications by opening them. Also check on splitting the pills rather than crushing them. It is really hard to be able to do this immediately post op because, if I remember correctly, I wasn't able to drink a lot of fluids at one time. Later on, this should become a little easier for you. I am 6 months post op and not too tight. I take capsules whole and pills if they are small. I would not have been able to do this immediately post op, because I drink about 20 ounces of water with it so I can be certain the capsules dissolve and the pills go through. When I say pill, I mean they are not bigger than an m&m. I make sure I drink more water 5 minutes later.

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

I too have a sensitive stomach. I get small fills and have to be careful. I am 6 1/2 post op and only have 2 ccs in my 10cc band. My last fill was in mid November. Hang in there and you will get back to where you want to be in no time.
  20. During the liquid phase post op I used New whey Protein bullets. They are only 3 oz each and have 42g of protein. It is really easy to drink. Now, I just eat enough protein each day; chicken, turkey, beef, Beans or drink skim milk.

    Endometriosis and Lap Band

My friend was banded two weeks before me. She has a 5 year old son and twins that turned 1 two weeks ago. She just found out she was pregnant. She had to take take fertility drugs for her first two pregnancies so she didn't think she could get pregnant on her own. Her periods were even very irregular. Her obgyn told her that when she dropped weight it must have triggered her to begin ovulating again. She is seeing a specialist on Tuesday to find out exactly how pregnant she is! Sooooo, it seems in some cases that losing the weight can help fertility depending on the reason for infertility.

    Feeling discouraged

It isn't easy when you are first banded, especially since you haven't had a fill yet. I strongly suggest you log your food/drinks on dailyplate.com, fitday.com or some other place so you can get an accurate daily calorie count. Many times when we are first banded, we consume TOO FEW calories. You should shoot for 1000-1200 probably. I do 1200-1500 per day.

    Numbness?

Call you surgeon's office. I also had the same sensation but it was on my upper left thigh. I was told it just happens sometimes. Mine got better on its own, but you should call.
  24. You will know more when you go to the dr on Tuesday. If it hasn't slipped, I would probably ask to be completely unfilled until your swelling goes down. Then, start your fills back over slowly after a couple of weeks or when your doctor says it is ok to. Good Luck and please update on Tuesday.
  25. I am sorry your surgeon is so lenient with the fills. That does mean, however, you probably are less likely to leave his office too tight. You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
