Help! Help! Need Some Advice
crzytchr replied to m1971jimenez's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What are you eating? Take a good look at what you are eating and how much. Write it down and preferable put it online at fitday or dailyplate so you can get a calorie count of it. That is the only way to examine your food intake and maybe figure out what is wrong. How do you feel when you eat chicken or other proteins? -

Mushy/Soft foods at 1 or 2 wks post op?
crzytchr replied to bevanfranks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On day 8, if I was "starving", my surgeon allowed a test meal of a soft scrambled egg. If I could eat it without any problems I was told to proceed to soft foods/mushies. I was, and did proceed, and I haven't had any problems and I am now 10 months post op. I was on clear liquids for 7 days, full liquids for 1 day and then I proceeded to mushies after that scrambled egg. If your surgeon says it is ok and you are comfortable with it, then do it. If you are scared, then stay on full liquids for a little bit more. -

Hello Cajun Girl and welcome. Considering your name, are you originally from Louisiana? And if so, where? -
How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
crzytchr replied to lotzasunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are doing a great job, a lot better than I am. Plateaus are normal and it will pass. Hopefully your next fill will give you the restriction you desire. Good luck, and keep up the good work!:rolleyes2: -
How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
crzytchr replied to lotzasunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you click on my weight loss ticker you can see that I have had my share of plateaus in the last few months, starting in January. I have hit two! BUT, the weight is still headed in the right direction, so I can't complain. Also, if I would exercise, I am sure it would begin to come off faster.:rolleyes2: As long as your weight loss goes downward and doesn't move up, don't worry. -
Do you wake up with a tube in your throat?

I have had 2 surgeries in since July and I don't remember the tube been in either time. -

Question about diet history requirements
crzytchr replied to HolliJ's topic in Insurance & Financing
Lisa, yeah your coverage sounds typical. Most companies do require all of that. It is the company and your employer that decide all of the requirements. I have no clue why it was so easy with mine, but my friend and I both worked for the same company and we were both APPROVED in days. Good luck! All of the preop requirements will actually help you once you start your banded life, so it is all good. Make sure you ask how much you are required to lose during the supervised diet. Also, if your bmi is low, are you going to be penalized and turned down if you fall too low? -
Charlene, that .5cc will probably make you feel so much better. Keep us posted.
-
Ok, most of the rules sound like what I follow. I stop liquids 30 min before meals and I don't drink for an hour after. Now, the 3 min chewing "crap". NO WAY. I chew well and I pause maybe 20 seconds then I eat another bite. I eat consistently 1200-1500 calories per day and I log everything that goes into my mouth on fitday.com to make sure I am honest. I normally take 15-20 min to eat. For instance: If we go out to eat I can eat about: -1/4-1/3 of a regular cheeseburger and maybe 7 fries. -Pizza- would be 1 slice of a 10". -2 chicken tenders and maybe a few fries -1/2 cup refried beans with 1 serving of chips (yes, I count them out) with cheddar and ff sour cream Also, I drink a Starbucks venti non-fat caramel mocha no whip (2 pumps mocha, 4 pumps sf caramel ) every day

How much were you eating...
crzytchr replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our docs are just different. My was really lenient, but you should do what your doctor suggested. What your doctor said (liquids for 2 weeks) sounds kind of typical for a post op diet. I was advanced to mushies fairly quick, but stayed at 1/2 c for a few weeks. -
3rd Fill, Lots of Restriction - water is slow to go down
crzytchr replied to Abbykins's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Abby, I have been at 2ccs since November. I became a little tight after my hysterectomy in December and my wreck in February. I seem to be at my sweet spot. I am now only too tight during times of high stress, like now, the end of school. Other than that, I eat 1200-1500 calories per day and I am rarely ever hungry. So, I consider that my sweet spot. I hope it lasts.:crying: -
If you have 9ccs and feel nothing, I would probably request a fill under fluro. Does your dr pull out the Fluid each time to check the level? When was your last fill? If it has been a month or more, go get another and see if it helps. I know everyone is different, but I can't IMAGINE being almost to capacity and feel nothing. Good luck. I know it must be discouraging to go through this and then feel like you haven't been helped at all. Try to stick it out until you find out what is wrong.

3rd Fill, Lots of Restriction - water is slow to go down
crzytchr replied to Abbykins's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You will know more tomorrow, but my PA didn't let me leave the office when I told her I could feel the water going down slowly. She gives cold water so you can definitely tell where the water is. She immediately pulled out half of the fill that she put in and it was just right. Try a protein shake in the morning and if you have problems with that, call and try to get some taken out. You definitely don't want to be that tight. -
Sticky Tape, Get it off!!!
crzytchr replied to chevul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure they want you to take it off. I was told to let mine fall off on their own. It took about 2 weeks. :sad:After that, I hear some people say a pencil eraser helps to get the sticky off.:crying: -
depressed and inspired watching the Biggest Loser Finale

depressed and inspired watching the Biggest Loser Finale
crzytchr replied to Just Banded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be inspired because they look fantastic, but be aware that working out with a trainer was a full time job for them for 17 weeks. In the real world we are lucky to get one hour a day in. If we do our one hour a day, we will see results. That being said, I LOVE watching the biggest loser. I am a big loser too, it is just taking longer. Now, back to you, are you too tight? If so, do not hesitate to get an unfill and start back over when the swelling goes down. My friend had to and it doesn't take long to get back on track getting filled again. If you stay too tight, you will remain miserable, cause more swelling and possibly do damage. -

How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
crzytchr replied to lotzasunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I understand what you mean, Marie...I have lost 80 lbs, but still can't believe that I am not bigger than everyone around me. I still see myself as 300. I wish I could fix my brain. -
Can't take deep breaths...
crzytchr replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I never would have remembered that word, but I did use mine exactly as directed. I figured they wouldn't have sent me home with it if it wasn't important. -
Can't take deep breaths...
crzytchr replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aspirator, yeah, that is what the breathing thing is called! Thanks... I absolutely could NOT think of what it was called. -
Can't take deep breaths...
crzytchr replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did they give you the breathing thing to do to expand your lungs after surgery? If so, are you doing it? It is supposed to keep you from getting pneumonia. You probably should call your doctor, because it sounds like it is bad enough to have you worried. -
I was also told "no way, never" because of the appetite stimulant reason. I have been drinking it since I was 2 and it does not stimulate my appetite, so I drink it, just as much as before and I have lost 80 lbs so far and I am RARELY ever hungry. I also have a venti non fat caramel mocha every day from Starbucks (only 2 pumps of mocha and 4 pumps sugar free caramel, 220 calories 17 g protein).
