Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

It isn't possible to comprehend cold in September where I live. It is still in the upper 80s during the day and mid 70s at night.:scared2:

    Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

No, thankfully, no vomiting. I have a terrible sore throat, fever and body aches. My chest also is hurting, if it gets worse, I am supposed to go to the ER, since I am asthmatic. I am taking tamiflu, so I expect it to clear up quickly. I can't stay away from sick people, I teach:rolleyes2:. Hand washing is the only thing that kept me from getting it the first 6 weeks of school. Yes, we have been in school since the beginning of August!:scared2: Each week we have at least one in each class out with it. Now, it is myself AND one of my students. I hope to return to work on Monday.

    Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

Everyone seems to be doing great. I still have not joined WW, but I do journal my foods daily and I started losing again since school started at the beginning of August. Melly: congrats on the milestone! I also read and commented on your blog. Oh, and I am at home during the middle of the school day because I have the freaking H1N1 flu!!!!:scared2: It is the sixth week of school and I really thought I had dodged it, but alas, no. I am sick as a dog!
  7. You can really see the progress. Feels great, huh?

    Rashes????

It sounds like a yeast rash like the previous poster stated. Most of the above mentioned things will help, but I suggest you let your doctor (pcp) look, so he/she can start documenting it. If it continues, you MAY get a portion of PS paid for in the future after your weight has stabilized.

    Biggest Loser Fall 09

I got on the Tara bandwagon early when she won a challenge/phone call home. She gave it away to someone who wasn't on her team, because he had children. I also liked Mike for giving his food for a year to the mom who needed it. It was his DAD that kept me from voting for him. This season, I am leaning toward Dan and Abby also.

Ebony: actually, I didn't make the connection until AFTER I had the hysterectomy. I don't know whether or not it was causational or just coincidental, but I had lost 40+ lbs when the headaches started and almost 50 when I had the hysterectomy. But later, I realized there was probably a connection since estrogen and fat are connected and I didn't have the problems until after losing the weight. I don't know what test to ask for, but just ask them if they can test your hormone levels since this all started after losing the weight. Again, I don't miss my uterus, but the headaches were a killer.:scared2: I am so glad those are over.

Ebony: did your menopause start before or after your surgery? We have lost a LOT of fat since surgery, and fat is where estrogen is stored. Our hormones are whacko right now. I had a hysterectomy in December because I was having migraines daily from October until after my surgery. As soon as the surgery was over, no more headaches! I also now suffer from acne but that could also be from the hormone fluctuations. My acne is not bad, but it sucks since I was acne free as a teenager. I will take the acne and loss of my uterus for the 89lbs I have lost so far. Slim, check with your gyn and see if maybe you hormones are out of whack. It may help solve some of the problems if they can regulate it.

Well, dangit....I just posted a few times on the PJTP thread and it gets closed! Ebony: thanks for starting this again. plain: I am glad to see you back. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see you engage in playful banter and sexual innuendos any more. TPG: I hope your surgery gets scheduled soon. smsmithart: cougartown was hysterical. Did you watch Modern Family? slim: Celebrate your successes. I know I am far from my goal, but dangit, I look a lot better than I did, and I feel amazing, well I did until... PJTP: It is probably my fault for thinking I was the invicible "super immune system teacher"...I made it 6 weeks, and now, I have the H1N1 flu. We have had at least one case per week in my class and I didn't get it. I, of course, get sick two days before training that I have been waiting for since last year! UGH! Now, it looks like next year.:scared2: Colorado Chick, I am glad your daughter is feeling better. My children have some how managed to not catch it, even though they had 1/4 of their highschool absent for a week! Hopefully they will survive their mom having it. krtork: stock up on purell and lysol. Spray, spray, spray...those children are full of germs. Who wudda thunkit?! Now I'm off to take my tamiflu and zythromax:crying:

Tracy, I feel a little better while the fever breaks, then it comes back and it hurts again. I had to get up and take my children to school and then go to my classroom and get the sub work ready. I also sprayed the entire classroom with disinfectant so my kiddies don't catch it. I called a student who is out for the third day, and yep, he has the flu also. My only concern is my lungs. I have asthma, and my doc said if my chest begins hurting I have to go immediately to the ER. Jenn: I would love to join the challenge, but I am certain I won't lose 10 lbs by October. I am doing the Thanksgiving challenge and have 11 to lose before then. You can add me, but I doubt I will make it....Just don't judge:tongue2: Starting weight 221.:scared2:
  14. I would definitely take mimi's advice and call right now for an unfill. It is possible that he can just take out .5cc but if you wait, you may need a lot more out. You want your stomach to lose the swelling as quickly as possible. Also, be certain to do liquids only for a few days until you KNOW the swelling is reduced. You don't want any more episodes of pbing. Good luck and keep us updated.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

That is good to know. On the plus side, 1200 calories a day is not bad for a bandster. But, Jeez, I wish it would have given you better news. Well, Butterflies...yesterday I felt great. I was at school teaching my kids and doing my thing. At 2:30, all of a sudden, I started feeling like complete crap! I started whining, which made me apologize to my kids. I normally don't whine. This morning I got up and went to school, still feeling like crap, and told them I would go to the doctor this afternoon. They said, ummmm, No. You will leave and go NOW. I went and I have the H1N1 flu!!!! UGH!!! I am so upset. I had training I have been waiting a year for on tomorrow, and now I can't go!

Ok, I will start on my whine fest then move to constructive talk...I felt great yesterday. I was teaching my kids and feeling great, then 2:30 rolled around and I felt like complete crap! I heard myself whining during social studies. I clamped my hands over my mouth and apologized to my kids. Five minutes later, I did it again! I felt horrible! I really thought maybe I just developed a sinus infection, since I get 1 or 2 a year, thanks to living in Louisiana. I went to school today and told them I would go to the doctor this afternoon. They said, ummmm, no go to the doctor now!:tongue2: So, I did and I have the freaking H1N1 FLU!!!! I am not surprised since we have had numerous cases in our classes the last 5 weeks. Worst part is, I had training tomorrow that I was waiting a YEAR for and now I can't go. Ok, does anyone feel the need for some cheese to go with that whine?! Laura, I use fitday.com to journal. If I had to write everything, I would NEVER journal my food, and I do on the computer everyday except maybe 3 days per month, when I forget. Mimi, pardon my French, but your doctor is an ass. A royal jerk. They overfill you and then want to call YOU the failure, ummmm, I think not. They need to look in a mirror to find the failure. As far as goals go, I am also trying to be realistic. I am 5'7" and I want to weigh 175. Technically still overweight, but I remember being that weight, and I looked GOOD! So, poop on the charts that will call me fat. I will say, though, that even if I stay at the weight I am at now, I will be happy. I have gone from a tight 26/28 to a 14/16. I used to wear a 6T blue right fit jeans and now I wear the 1T blue. That was done in a YEAR! I DARE my surgeon to call me a failure! I feel GREAT! Well, except for this whole swine flu thing. That kinda sucks. Tracy: did you see Kelly dance last night? She did an even better job. It was so good. I hope she does well on all the dances. I am really thinking she will be the one I am voting for this season. She has really come a long way and maybe this will give her the confidence to stay straight.

My name is Cindy. I have lived in Louisiana my whole life. Yeah, it is getting nasty in there and it is just not good. I REALLY don't like it. So, I won't post there anymore until it calms down. Too much poison right now.

    I'd like some input.

Wow, that is a full plate. Ok, she can definitely get back on track after the birth of her baby if she is ready and willing. It is possible for her to keep the fill she has now, as long as she is not getting sick. If she is having morning sickness, though, she should get the entire fill out. Otherwise as long as she can get in enough nutrition for the baby (check with the ob/gyn) then she should be fine. Now...there is a thin line between restriction and being too tight. It is very possible that she won't reach proper restriction within the 3 months of the birth. You may want to contact the band surgeon and see if they can give her an extension since they aren't seeing her for now. If not, you may just have to pay for a few past the third month. I would probably add 1cc the first fill to get her to 7.5, then if she is not too tight, go very slowly from there, since you KNOW that 8.5ccs is too tight. There are people who get .25cc at their fills just to "tweak" it. My friend just had her "band baby" last week. She kept her entire fill the whole time, and the baby was 7lb 7oz!!!!

    September 30th.

I would ask him when you go in how much is in it. It may not seem like a lot to HIM, but if your stomach is sensitive, it may be too much for it. I was one of the few people who had restriction from having the band placed (mine had nothing in it). I have only had 2 small fills and I was banded in July 08. If your stomach had swelling JUST FROM HAVING THE BAND PLACED, you are restricted, but now it is from constantly being sick, which causes swelling. If there is ANYTHING AT ALL in your band, my advice would be to ask to have the entire Fluid taken out. It would probably give you instant relief. From there, I would get properly hydrated by drinking the recommended amount of Water a day and intake full liquids for a few days so the swelling to go down. You will be able to drink it once the fill is taken out. This will also give you a lot of relief.

I am not really homeless, yet, but I have been following this thread. I am technically a July (08) Butterfly, but we aren't posting regularly any more. I know about the drama in the other thread and it makes me sad... Can you pm me the addy for G4E when you get one?
  23. I eat 1200-1500 per day and have since about a month after banding. I am still losing slowly, but I can eat almost anything I want. I do NOT exercise, but I know I need to. If I start, the weight loss would probably pick up. I did not get banded to eat below 1000 calories per day, but I know there are some people that can do that, I am not one of them. Once you are off your post-op diet and get restriction, listen to your body. It is also really good to journal your food intake so you can see how much are consuming each day and what kinds of foods you are eating.
