Jenn, my start weight was 221. Do we need to update you periodically to get it changed, maybe on a certain day, or would you rather us just report back on Halloween?

Months to get to sweet spot??????

Please realize that I do eat more than 1/2 cup of food. I eat more like 1 to 1 1/2 cups, but I am losing and it is an amount I am happy with. If you go for that fill, I would suggest it be a small one. If you feel at ALL restricted when drinking water, then have them take a tiny amount out. When you get close to your "sweet spot", your fills may only need to be .25cc at a time to "tweak" your band. Good luck!

If you know how to use Google docs, it would work nicely there. They have used it in a few of the weight challenges before. The Thanksgiving Day challenge is using it now. I don't know how to create them, or I would do it for you.:seeya: Or, we could do it like we did last year, and just type and update our info the copy/paste/edit way that the old challenges used.

Months to get to sweet spot??????

I eat about 1/3 of what I did before being banded. Immediately after my fills, for about 2 weeks, I couldn't do bread, but I can now. Examples: pizza: i eat 1 slice of thin crust from a medium pizza instead of 3 slices of hand tossed I HOP breakfast: now I eat 1 pancake and half of a egg and cheese omelet, instead of the 3 eggs w/3 pancakes meal with a side of toast Chilis: I eat a cup of chili with 4 crackers and maybe some skillet queso, instead of 1/2 of a skillet queso order and 1/2 of an order of chicken quesidillas Chick fil A: I eat 1/2 of a chicken biscuit for Breakfast instead of a whole chicken biscuit and a cinnamon cluster ( those things were so good, but I haven't touched one since before banding, cuz it's not worth it) As you can see, I can still eat many foods and I like having the ability to eat them. I don't want to be any tighter, even if it means I can lose an extra pound per week. I am happy like this and I think if I ate less, it would feel too much like dieting and that is not why I was banded. To me, that means this is my sweet spot.:seeya:

    No Longer Afraid

Congratulations on making positive steps to make your transition easier. It sounds like you are off to a great start. You may want to start trying to cut out drinking with meals. It seems that many bandsters have a problem with that at first. Good luck with getting your date!

Months to get to sweet spot??????

I was lucky enough to have some restriction since surgery. I have never really not had it. I was just a little tighter after each fill, but could usually eat most of the foods I want. I have been at my current level since November of last year, which was 4 months after surgery.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Bernadette, I am so glad your dinner went well. As far as the tiredness, you are probably just worn out from the stress of yesterday. Get some rest.

    I finally did it!

Congratulations! I can hardly wait until I reach that wonderful that I have not seen since 1990.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

If you could try to work in even a small amount of exercise, it may help. My plateau broke once I returned to school. My eating didn't change, but I NEVER sit at school. I am constantly circulating around the class. I started losing again. Not alot, but I am losing. Although, I must say, it seems my H1N1 has given me some more loss. I don't recommend it, but I think I am down another 2 lbs since Wednesday. I am not vomiting, but I just don't feel like eating. This sucks:crying:
  12. Your progress pics show you amazing results! Congratulations, you look awesome.

  13. Be careful not to flash the little children:ohmy:. That is why I am CONSTANTLY buying new clothes. I started in a tight 26/28. I have a pair of 28 khakis I taught in before my journey (were tight) and I look like a kid holding up a pair of "grown up" pants when I tried them on the other day. I now wear the LB right fit blue size 1T (started in a 6T). I can also wear a misses size 18, but I have to take the waist in. I wear a 14/16W top. I may not ever really get out of plus tops unless I get a reduction. I can wear a misses XL or XXL but it is tight in the bust. I love my band and the control it has given me over my appetite.

Kat: sorry to hear about DS. I remember getting in a wreck when I was 17 and the other driver was 40. I was ticketed and faulted with the accident. The ticket was unjustified and thrown out. My parents wouldn't fight paying for the accident, although we should have. The accident wasn't costly, but to me it was the principle of it. It wasn't my fault. They just paid it to get it over with.
  15. My band is not tight, so I can eat most anything, even Pasta, bread (toasted whole wheat) and pizza. I just eat a lot less of it. I do not eat meat that is dry. If it is dry, or reheated, then I have a problem. I have not tried to eat lettuce, but my friend who is banded, eats it all the time. Oh, and for some reason, scrambled eggs seem to stick, so I eat them fried. The key to being able to eat a variety of foods, is not being overfilled. I was banded a year ago in July and I only have 2ccs in my band. I can overeat if I TRY. The key is to put the serving you should have on your plate and eat that. You will be surprised to find that it is satisfying. I eat 1200-1500 calories per day. Some people eat less and that is great for them. That would make me feel like I was always on a diet, and that is not what I want. I love my band and the control over food that it gives me. Good luck in your journey with your band!

    Galveston county let's meet

It is wonderful that y'all want to plan something like this. The bandsters from Louisiana aren't very vocal or active on the board. If I were closer, and not carrying the H1N1 right now, I would go. But, alas, I am in Baton Rouge and highly contagious.:tongue2:

I was stuck but now I am really concerned

Stay on liquids this weekend and I have heard it recommended to take children's motrin. It will reduce the swelling. No matter what, you should probably call your doctor on Monday morning. Good luck. Oh, and if at any point you can't keep liquids down, immediately call and get unfilled.

    Plateau myths?

Breakfast is the most difficult, but I can eat it. I can not eat scrambled eggs, but I can eat them fried. I like grits and sausage. If you like coffee, try drinking coffee before you try to eat. The hot beverage may loosen your band. I have also heard that being slightly dehydrated can cause tightness and sometimes we may wake up needing extra fluids. I am not sure, but on days when I drink extra Water, I can eat some foods easier. If you cant find anything you can eat in the morning, you can always do a Protein drink or just have some skim milk. Also, be sure you really need that fill before you get it. You don't want to become too tight. The plateau will eventually play itself out. Mine lasted a while, but it did finally break.

I teach 4th and believe it or not, I have a thumbsucker in my homeroom class. Does the thumbsucker get the flu?! NO, the handwasher does. That just isn't right. :scared2:

    Plateau myths?

Click on my ticker at the bottom and see the plateau from hell. From April until August:unsure:. It was a pain in the behind. Once August came, my weight slowly started dropping again. Slowly, but at least it is dropping. I remember being this weight about two years after my son was born and stayed there for a year. Oh, and at least I didn't gain any. Prior to banding, the plateau would have sent me on a "forget it then" eating frenzy and I would've packed on the pounds. So, my band is my friend.
