Suz1: I really enjoyed eating cream of chicken soup. I would mix it with skim milk and then add a little sage, garlic powder and pepper to taste. It was so good that my teenage daughter brought some to work.

Fanny, those pics are beautiful.

I think basically he never served his full "sentence" the first time, he fled the country. Congratulations on the hair. Jeez, I certainly need to do something to mine.

How do you deal with judgements?
crzytchr replied to ldswims's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can promise you I have lost and gained a couple of Sumo wrestlers over my lifetime. I have never been able to keep it off. I think the biggest testament to my band journey is my over 3 month plateau I had that JUST ended in August. Prior to banding, I would have said "screw it!" and then proceed to eat anything and everything and gain back everything I lost. That is one big difference my band has made for me. I made it through the plateau with my weight stabilized and began to slowly lose again in August. The weight is coming off slowly now, but at least it is still coming off. I never feel as if I am deprived. I eat what I want, heck, I even eat ice cream around once a week. I just don't eat a lot of it. I eat out all of the time, I just eat a lot less than I used to. I love my banded life. I wouldn't change anything so far. -

My friend delivered her band baby on Sept. 15th. She kept her fill the entire time and the baby was 7lb 7oz. Talk to your ob/gyn. It depends on how much they want you to get in each day and what your diet consists of. If you can not get in good quality food, then you should probably get an unfill and stay unfilled. -
Michelle: I slept like a log. We have a king-sized bed, and my husband loves when she sleeps with us, because I sleep in the middle and have to be up against him. When it is just us, I don't sleep that close to him. I love him, but in the bed, I like my space. Have fun at the picnic today!

The difference is that with the band you are satisfied with the restricted portions, so it doesn't feel like deprivation and dieting. -
The movie was creepy, but it didn't scare me. My daughter and her friends, however, were VERY scared. My 17 year old slept in my bed last night/this morning.

Hun, you are riding that "I am wearing a freaking size 12 Jeans" high. You won't come down off of that high for a while. At least I know I wouldn't. Enjoy it, you certainly deserve it.

Michelle: I'm not at 100%, but getting a little better everyday. Thanks for asking. I am just hoping the prednisone doesn't put a few more pounds on me. I am truly fighting it. I am so glad it is Friday...Just went and saw Whip It. Cute movie. Now, I have to meet up with my 17 year old and a few of her friends for the midnight showing of Paranormal Activity.

 I love it!!!! I almost spewed my precious Starbucks latte out my nose. -
Major congratulations for that! I am so happy for you and yet green with envy:biggrin: Kat: try not to overdo it with family coming in. I hope you get better real soon.

Quickly popping in to give my Friday WI. 219

I think the danger of the situation is evident in the comments of his ex sister-in-law. She claims he is a good guy and the sex was consensual. There is no way we should consider an adult drugging and having sex with a 13 year old consensual.

I also do not understand this. The crime was horrible and I don't care how much time has passed, he needs to be held accountable.

Tracy: I am feeling a little better everyday...I should, I am on day 8 of the antibiotics and did I mention I HATE prednisone?! This really messes up my October/Halloween Challenge. I realized there are way too many movies that I want to see this weekend. I am currently trying to convince my teenagers they want to see the Toy Story movies in 3D with me. I think they may cave, if not, I will look like a major dork, but I will go solo. I LOVE TOY STORY!

Irene's here!!! Hey, Irene...It is good to see you here. Jenn: I hope you day is getting better:sad: Kat: We had problems with my stepdaughter for a few years. To my knowledge, she never told lies about us, but when our oldest was very young, my stepdaughter would "hug" her tightly and my husband caught her pinning her down on the floor. He straightened her out, but it was jealously because she wanted the life my daughter had. She wanted to be able to have a stable parent to live with. She was actually afraid of her mom in many ways and wanted to live with us, but mom threw a fit. We saw an attorney and it was not going to happen unless she testified and she was too afraid of her mom to do it. Her mom finally relented and let her live with her grandparents. We, of course, still had to pay the child support to her. The day my stepdaughter turned 18, she moved in with us and to this day, she calls me mom and goes for a year or more without speaking to her mother.

Yes, ma'am...done!

Thanks for the well wishes. The doctor said I was cleared to return when the fever subsided so I returned on Monday. I teach the inclusion classes so my kids don't do well with subs. It is difficult for them to handle change. I feel bad, but me at 60% is better for my kids, than a substitute. We have good subs, but the kids are really hard on them.

Tracy: I am glad that Macy is feeling better. Watch that cough, though...see below. Kat: I am so sorry your husband is feeling so bad. I hope he feels better soon. Apologies to Kat, Diva, Heart and others who read this on PJTP. I returned to the doctor Monday afternoon, because I finished the 5 days of tamiflu and zithromax and I still felt like someone was sitting on my chest. I could barely breath after coughing. He ordered a chest x-ray and it seems I had pneumonia on top of the flu. If he hadn't given me the zithromax as a precaution, I can't imagine how bad it would've gotten. I am asthmatic, so he gave me a steroid shot to hurry and get the inflammation down. He also prescribed 5 MORE days of zithromax and 9 days of prednisone:mad2:( i hate taking prednisone). My asthma since dropping the 90 lbs is so much better. The inhaler I was using was from August 08. I maybe use it once a month. I can not even imagine how bad this would've been if I was still at 310. I could've been one of the people hospitalized with this dang H1N1.:scared2: Just another reason to love my band.

Ebony and Colorado Chick: I hope y'all feel better soon. I am STILL fighting it. PJTP: Being sick has helped me appreciate my band more than ever. I returned to the doctor on Monday afternoon after being on tamiflu and zithromax for 5 days. I still felt like someone was sitting on my chest, but my fever was gone. They did a chest x-ray and it seems that I had pneumonia on top of having the flu. I am asthmatic, so my lungs are weak. If I still had the 90 lbs on me I would have certainly been in the hospital. I am also fortunate that my doc put me on the zithromax last week, as a precaution, or it would have been much worse. So....Monday, I got a steroid shot, 9 days of oral steroids and 5 more days of zithromax. Dang, I didn't know you could take that crap for 10 days! Jeez I hope the steroids don't make me gain:scared2:. Oh, and apologies to my friends at the homeless thread who may see a similar post if I update there later.

If you cook the beans you can lower the sodium yourself, but you will still have to add SOME salt, at least if you want it to taste good at all. I don't know that there is really any more to it other than adding the seasoning mashing the beans. You can try the one below and just adjust the salt to satisfy your sodium concerns. 1 onion, peeled and halved 3 cups dry pinto beans, rinsed 1/2 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped 2 tablespoons minced garlic 5 teaspoons salt (may want to cut this in half?) 1 3/4 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin, optional 9 cups Water Place the onion, rinsed beans, jalapeno, garlic, salt, pepper, and cumin into a slow cooker. Pour in the water and stir to combine. Cook on High for 8 hours, adding more water as needed. Note: if more than 1 cup of water has evaporated during cooking, then the temperature is too high. Once the beans have cooked, strain them, and reserve the liquid. Mash the beans with a potato masher, adding the reserved water as needed to attain desired consistency.

Kat and Tracy I am sorry your family is sick. Tracy, I can imagine not giving it to your child if there are side effects. Luckily I haven't experienced any. Kat, if he has the H1N1 and you get it, you may not experience the vomiting. Luckily, I haven't.

Tracy try to bring her as soon as you can in the morning. If it is the flu, the sooner she can start tamiflu the better. My fever stopped after 3 days. I feel much better now, except that everything has settled in my chest and isn't moving. I am taking mucinex to try to break it up, but nothing so far. This is what my dr was afraid of. My lungs as so weak from 35 years of asthma. :seeya:
