Tracy: I spoke tooooooo soon...It rained almost all freaking day! Ok, I am now convinced my husband must secretly love torturing me, or he wants to keep me fat so no one will look at me. The man I have been married to for 19 years, came home with a 1 lb 10.8 oz bag of REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER PUMPKINS!!! I hear the possessed demon things calling me. I am right now trying to type this and still cover my ears. cindy....cindy....cindy Can you hear it?! AAARRRGGGGHHHHH:scared2:
  2. Continue to research the lapband and make the decision that is best for you!

STOP THAT RIGHT NOW!!!! STEP AWAY FROM THE CANDY AND PASTRIES!!!! :scared2: Now, I must admit I am a big hypocrite. I have been consuming peanut butter pumpkins all week.
  4. Being banded was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I would do it again in a minute.
  5. If you exercise 7 days a week and eat the above amounts of food, you probably aren't eating enough. Journal everything you eat and drink for a week and write down the activities you do. You can use fitday.com or sparkpeople. But, it definitely sounds like you aren't consuming enough calories for the amount of activity you are engaging in every day.

Tracy: It hasn't rained here today, thankfully. It looked gross almost all day, but no rain. Suzie: regarding Halloween candy, I do believe that reese's peanut butter pumpkins are the work of the devil...they will be the downfall of me yet! Luckily they are so yummy,:cryin: there are never any left on the shelves close to Halloween, so I am almost safe!:wink2:

    Smoking and the Bandit

Congratulations on your decision to be banded and quit smoking. It is such a big step on your road to a healthier future. Be aware that if you are using patches, you are still getting nicotine in your system and it will should show up on the test. You would be better off trying Chantix or Wellbutrin. Many say Chantix is better, but more expensive. If you want to be quit by December 2, please try to get one now. Good luck!
  8. It sounds like you just did a bit more than your body was ready for. If it continues to hurt after rest, you should call your surgeon to be on the safe side. They really should have been a little more sensitive to the fact that you probably shouldn't have driven them to EAT when you just had surgery and are on a liquid post op diet!:blushing:

Orea, I am so sorry to hear about your surgery. That is a bunch of complications. I am glad to hear you are healing now. Definitely concentrate on getting better. Please check in when you get a chance and let us know. I am sending warm thoughts and prayers your way.

Suzie: I am glad to hear you are feeling better Irene: I am glad you and your band are a happy couple again!!!! I didn't check in yesterday. I did planning with the other fourth grade teacher, from the moment school ended, until 8 last night. This is what we do every Friday night. I was so tired when I came home, I jumped in the shower and went straight to bed. Now I am headed off to take the children to take their ACT this morning. Then, I am headed off to see my DSD. I will catch up and check in again later.

I have seen quite a few posts from bandsters about tightening of the band during their cycle. It seems to vary from one person to the next, just like some people's band getting tight from stress.

Well, it doesn't sound like she needs a costume for Halloween...just buy her a BROOM! I can't STAND people like that.

Speaking of celebrating successes...has anyone else become freakishly obsessed with their shoulders or collarbones? It had been so long since they were really visible, that I can't stop touching them. It is really WEIRD!!!!

Tracy... HELLO!! I agree, celebrate your successes and don't dwell on anything else. It is counterproductive.
  18. I would get the unfill. The swelling from surgery will probably leave you a little restricted anyway. I had a hysterectomy last December and was told I didn't need one by my surgeon, who called my band surgeon and asked. I only had 2ccs and it left me too tight for a month.

    Cold Weather and More Restriction

I have heard that it can affect the band and now I believe it. I have extra stress worrying about my oldest child but hadn't had issues until our cold snap this weekend. I pbd for the first time in 6 weeks on Sunday and yesterday. It happened on food that normally doesn't give me problems...grits. Grits, really? How in the world should THAT give me problems? The only thing that had changed was our low temperature dropped 30+ degrees, so that is what I think happened.:cursing:

Call your doctor and go in to get an unfill. It sounds like you are too tight.

It is fun when you first notice it. I am at that point now. But my "girls" are being kind of weird. I went from a 44DDD to a 40G. When I take pictures I still look huge because my boobs won't get smaller. I can still wear a 14/16b at LB, but yesterday when I went to get dressed, I realized I didn't have any cold weather clothes that weren't work clothes. My 17 year-old daughter suggested I wear one of her dad's sweatshirts. I looked at her like she was crazy, cuz he weighs 155 soaking wet! I put it on and IT FIT!!! He came home and saw me wearing his shirt and was shocked. So, today I went to Old Navy and bought some misses XL sweaters and fleece tops and went to Kmart and Walmart and bought some men's Medium sweatshirts....Feels kinda good.

I am only 5'7". The men's sweatshirts are a perfect length, but the women's is way too short. They are wide and short, dangit, so I bought the men's today. Now, I did find some misses fleece and sweaters at Old Navy today, so I bought them.
  23. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. What stage of liquids are you on? Still clear or are you at full? Once on full liquids, you can have soups that are much more flavorful and that will help a lot to satisfy your need for food. My favorite was cream of chicken. I prepared it by adding skim milk to it, instead of water. Then, I would add a little sage, garlic powder and pepper. It was so good, my teenager took it to work for lunch! I am a teacher and I have to eat everyday with my students. By the time they are all seat, I have less than 15 minutes to eat. This means that lunch is soup for me almost everyday. I just don't have time to eat anything else properly. Not enough chewing time! I use the Campbell's Soup at Hand that you just heat and drink. The liquid stage is a complete pain-in-the-butt. Luckily it doesn't last forever...it just SEEMS like it.

Does the weight loss increase your sex drive?

As my weight has dropped, my confidence has soared and the sex is definitely better. Now, keep in mind, it isn't because my body looks great. I have lost over 90 lbs, it is smaller, but can not possibly look fantastic naked. BUT, the confidence I feel everyday definitely makes its way into the bedroom.

My darling friends, please understand I am excited about it being my smallest adult size in 18 years, but it is still an adult Large. But dangit, it feels good to me!!! I went shopping and realized I can't really wear a misses L in a sweatshirt, because it is too short. The misses XL is too wide. WTH?! I am going to need to buy the men's just to get it long enough. I am going to vent a little bit too. What is with all stores selling petite and average lengths only in the stores? Kohl's, Target, etc... I need longer lengths, so most of the time I have to order online. You all know it is hard to figure out what size you are when you try to move from plus to regular sizes. I am frustrated. Oh, my DSD and her husband decided to spend the night away to try to have some alone time from the girls. He is having a hard time coming to terms with his wife, who is 11 years younger than him, being the sick one. Thank you all for your prayers. Y'all are a great bunch of ladies.
