  1. Deekel: it sound like you are doing great. You are making healthy choices, although, watch out for the Pasta after you get restriction. It can be tricky. I only eat whole wheat spaghetti now. You will probably see results on the scale by the time you go back to the doctor. To be honest, it sounds like you are eating amounts you will be for a while. The amounts of food probably won't change from what you are eating now, but with restriction, it will keep you full for longer. sfchick: if you are exercising hard, make sure you calories are reflecting that. If you don't eat enough, your body will hold onto every bit you put in. Also, take a look at the amounts of food you are eating and how long it keeps you satisfied to determine if you need a fill. Don't think just because you feel normal, and not stuck, that you need to add more. It sounds like you are on the path to being a very successful bandster. Keep up the exercising!:wink2:

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

Well, I think Disney still has 4 different parks, PLUS a water park. It takes a minimum of a day to do each one. Also you have to schedule time to see the shows. The only one that is a MUST is the Lion King. The rest can be left alone. It is just so darn expensive, that we would rather do Universal. It is easier to cover in a quick amount of time and my kids are past the Mickey stage. They would rather just ride the rides. For 7 days at Disney it is 280 per person at Universal it is 99 per person.
  3. How long ago did you weigh that, Tracy? I ask, because I am also 5'6", weigh 217 now and I am wearing the smallest LB size and it is getting too big. I can already shop in regular stores. It seems they are making clothes bigger now. Until now, the last time I was a 14/16 was in 1990, so it has been a while! I have set my personal goal at 175. That will put me in a 12 or 14.

Tracy: we are going to Universal Studios, Orlando. We are kind of excited about it. Universal is cheaper than Disney and can be covered completely in 2 days. We haven't been in over 4 years, so there are quite a few new things added since then. A part of me wanted to wait until spring, because they are opening the big Harry Potter/Diagon Alley attraction, but it will probably be a madhouse there for the first year.
  5. Please do keep us updated. Sometimes people think you must starve to lose, but many times it is the opposite. As long as you are adding foods that are nutritious, most people will lose at 1200 per day. I eat 1200-1500 every day. My weight loss is very slow now and I should add exercise, but I am still losing.

    Pjtp...again!

Nah, no fallout. I am sorry you had to work, so did I. I taught about Veteran's Day to my students today and why it is celebrated. It is sad how many of them had no idea what it was about.
  7. Ok, yeah it is all in your head, but I completely understand. I started as a tight 26/28 and I am now a 14/16. I still see fat when I look in the mirror, because well, I AM still fat. It took a while, but I realize that even though I still have more weight to lose, I look a heck of a lot better than I did. I feel phenomenal and I am more confident. I just still have moments when I don't see a difference, and THAT is all in my head.

Ok, I saw the followup of Daniel, but I didn't see Shay's. I saw when she went home, but not the "look what she looks like now". Dangit. Did they show it?
  10. At mushy stage you can try eating some refried beans with sour cream and cheddar or even chili that is blended up with the sour cream and cheddar. Try foods that have a little higher calorie count for now just to try to get more in. The tuna is great, but isn't helping you get your amounts in. Or, make the tuna into tuna salad by adding a little mayo and relish. Also, I realized I never answered the original question... at my 4 week appt post-op, I had lost 25 lbs.
  11. Try to get your calorie count up some. Are you on liquids, mushies or solids now? At whatever stage you are on, you need to find a way to get more food/nutrition in. You are probably correct about not getting fill, but if you aren't eating now, you don't need one. Please be honest with your surgeon when you go for your checkup. List what/how much you are eating on a daily basis so they can analyze it for you. Good luck and update after your appointment.

Michelle: I already told you on another post, but "I love it" Tracy: We are planning on going to Florida for Thanksgiving. My kids are older, so we are going to Universal Studios for 4 days. We haven't been on a family vacation that didn't revolve around my daughter playing ice hockey in over 4 years, so we are really looking forward to it. I am NOT, however, looking forward to boarding my sweet doggie.:tongue_smilie: Suzie: It saddens me on a daily basis what some of my "babies" go through everyday. Many of them hate to go home everyday. At school, they know just what is expected of them. It is consistent, and positive. At home, sometimes they never know what is going to happen. Jennifur: I am doing ok, thanks for asking. I just talked to my dad and I will need to take a day off on Thursday to try to help him get my mom to the doctor. My brother and my mom have appointments at the same time and my mom can't be left at appointments anymore. Her Alzheimer's is too advanced. She walks around angry at him all the time for some imagined thing he has done. She refuses to have tests done because she has irrational fears that it will kill her. We are at a loss as to what to do. It is taking such a physical toll on my dad that he was in the ER last week from not keeping food down. He had gastric bypass in June and if he is overly stressed his stomach knots up. It is almost like being banded when he is stressed.

    Pjtp...again!

Michelle, good luck with the haircut and post pics if you feel comfortable. I would really like to see it, because the styles you have picked are great. I have never had short hair...EVER. My hair is thick and wavy, so I couldn't sport a cute hair style like those. I just wash mine and let it dry. That is why it looks like it does.:tongue2:
  17. It depends on how restricted you are. I don't have any problems taking pills, but if you are concerned, you may want to try miralax. It is relatively tasteless and can be mixed into any liquid. I just use it in water.
  18. I'm in, although I am pretty sure I won't lose that much. I am mainly focusing on not gaining anything during the holidays.:w00t:

    getting started

I attended a seminar in May, called the surgeon's office on June 23rd for a consultation, they called and told me my insurance approved it on June 26th, did preop on July 3rd and had surgery on July 14th 2008. It went extremely fast. If I wasn't working summer school, I would've had the surgery on July 3rd.
  22. I had surgery at 11 and was home around 4. As far as time off work, I probably would've needed a week to be safe. I am a teacher and was off of work anyway, but a week would've been necessary, at least for me.

    Will I Pass Out??

I haven't sipped water since my post op diet. I guzzle it, and it never gives me a problem. It shouldn't pose a problem for you unless you are severely restricted.

    Pjtp...again!

Michelle: yes, my name is Cindy. My DSD is doing a little better. Her husband has taken a three week leave to help until they can try to get her pain regulated. We will be going this weekend to see them, so I will know more then.

    Biggest Loser Fall 09

Tracy was on the Leno show last night. I thought they weren't supposed to be seen on shows until the finale, since that is only a few weeks away. I guess not. I know that she and Abby have been on the morning show I listen to and Tracy did not say how much she lost so far and she did not tell her weight last night on his show, either.
