 Discreet, my butt!!! I will proudly wear it out, and say "oh, really, I didn't realize my size 12 tag was out!"
-
I eat 1200-1500 per day and have a protein intake of at least 60g per day. I eaten this way since I was banded 18 months ago.

Past weight history question.
crzytchr replied to TapSnap's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No, actually, it shows you can take weight off, but you have problems KEEPING it off. This is what the band helps with. I had a weight history of up and down. This time it is just going down. It is my understanding that they want to see that you have attempted weight loss previously and just aren't able to sustain it. -
six years out and having eating problems
crzytchr replied to sjwilde's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sounds like you may need a slight unfill. You may would find more foods appealing if they weren't so difficult to eat. If you could eat foods that are better for you during the day, you may not snack on the sweets (slider foods) in the evening. -

In one week I have lost 10 lbs. Is that average? probably above average, that is about what i did Which are the best Vitamins to take and what dosage? i took the chewable viactiv vitamins, because I hate the regular chewables What are the best supplements (calcium citrate or the other, etc)i took the chewable viactiv Best chocolate Protein drinks or powder without chalky taste?i did not use the chocolate drinks, because of the tast..i did the New whey protein bullets, smaller, so they are easier to get down Best tasting clear liquids protein drinks?i used the new whey, probably not best tasting, but had 42g of protein in just 3 1/2 oz Any lotions or tricks to prevent saggy skin?i wish When will I feel normal again?it took me a little over a week Any good blogs or website that could be helpful now that I have the band? my friend Amy is amazing. Her blog is entertaining and informational. I suggest reading from the beginning. Her before and afters are inspirational and she isn't finished yet! http://cheeseandsunkist.blogspot.com/ Any other good tip you think I should know?don't compare your weight loss to others, we are all different AND***** don't be so eager for fast weight loss that you get your band filled too tight. It is a recipe for disaster! -

3 weeks out and my very first stuck situation
crzytchr replied to Diamondgirl81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 18 months out and I still have problems with bananas sometimes. Bananas are so soft I think we take a bite that is a little bigger than we should. I think this is it, because when I cut it up to eat in cereal, no problems. If I try to eat it by itself, stuck. You can chew as well as you want, if that bite is not tiny enough, you may get stuck. Just try real small bites the next time you try it. -
Kat: check in when you can...you have my continued prayers Suzie: glad your house is nice and warm again. It is so wonderful when the men in our lives are capable of fixing things Tracy: happy packing and moving Jenn: it sounds like that you had fun last night, oh, and my day off, not fun, but I am glad I had it, because my oldest needed me On that note, please continue prayers for my stepdaughter. She and her husband decided the docs up there weren't making any progress. They were treating symptoms (poorly) and not getting a diagnosis. She decided to travel to Baton Rouge (about 90 miles away) to see my doc at Ochsner. I was off last Monday, so I went with her to that appt and the OBGYN that afternoon. The docs in Mississippi were going to fax her labs they did on Tuesday morning. On Monday, before seeing the labs, new doc thought it was probably fibromyalgia, but said he wanted to see the labs to be sure. Labs came in and he called her house on Thursday and said she needed new labs Friday morning. He said it looked like immune disorder like lupus. Well, Friday morning at 7:45 she called me crying. She hadn't slept in 2 days and hadn't eaten in 3. I had her call the doc office. I met her there and she saw the NP, since doc was gone. She had her new labs done. They gave medication to treat the pain until the labs come back on Monday. I requested a shot for her. They gave her demerol and phenegran. She was in so much pain she was still completely lucid after having both of those shots. No slurred speech, no lethargy, nothing. It dulled the pain and she was finally able to eat. Oh, she had lost 11 lbs from her appt on Mon until Friday. Ok, that afternoon, I went with her to the ultrasound ordered by the OBGYN, tech said her uterus was so swollen he could barely see anything (same thing wrong with me last year), he rushed these over to her doc who will call Monday morning. So, on top of everything else, she may be looking at a hysterectomy soon. My poor darling is so frustrated and sad. She is 26, with 3 small kids and a husband she loves. In the condition she is in now, she knows she isn't able, at the moment, to be a good wife or mother and it is killing her. So, again, any and all prayers are needed and very much appreciated. I just know as soon as they get this properly diagnosed, she can begin treatment, and she will begin to feel better. I just hope it is really soon.

If you are eating too little and exercising regularly, that can cause you to stall. It could be any number of things. Track what you are eating and drinking. Write down what it is and how much. I just started measuring my food again, and realized I was eating 30-50% more that I THOUGHT I was eating. By journaling your intake daily, you can take this with you it to your doctor or nutritionist, and together, you can figure out what to maybe try differently. Keep moving and don't get discouraged.

Hey, Charlene, I hope cutting the dosage fixes the problem. I am still not gaining, but not losing either. I joined the gym and have started walking there. Hopefully, it will help. I make the little pizzas with the sandwich thins, pizza quick sauce and some low fat mozzarella cheese. I toast the bread first, fix it, then pop them into the oven. My whole family loves them. Hang in there, Charlene, we can do this!

After you create your ticker, copy the forum code; it will be the first code at the bottom of the page when you finish making the ticker; then paste this code into the edit signature box. Click preview signature and it should show up. If it is correct, then save it.

Click that link in blue in my post above. I reread it last night and the only change I would make is I wouldn't cook my meat dry like it suggests on day 4 and 5. That may work for some bariatric procedures but not our band. Cook your meat as you usually do.

If you have started bad eating habits again or noticing that you are eating bigger portions, it is a plan that only lasts 5 days but brings you from liquids back up to Proteins to try to get you in "tune" with your pouch again. Many people have success with it, but I have not tried it yet. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test

My doc said no caffeine, so I asked why, since I have been drinking it since I was 2!!! He said it causes insulin spikes which causes hunger. Well, coffee doesn't make me hungry, it actually satisfies me and helps my ADHD, so I drink it. BUT...if you are no longer drinking caffeinated drinks I would DEFINITELY NOT start back. Just make the above mentioned drink with your decaf coffee and enjoy it.:tt1:

Kat I am glad that Rick is coming home and I will say prayers for you both. Please focus as much as you can on just you two this weekend. It will help you both.

Yay Tracy!!! Congratulations!!! Oh, and the link didn't work. It just brings us to the Realtor website, not your house. Oh, and I feel like a little kid when I say this, but... There's no school tomorrow!!!! They have decided that having our little southern Louisiana children stand outside waiting for the bus with the wind chill in the single digits and then having them ride on a bus on roads that are icy might be a bad idea....no, really! Finally they are using their brains.

i think i'm starting to hate my band.
crzytchr replied to mommytoethan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am sorry to hear you are having these issues. I have heard of people who have this problem when they have the sinus issues. It seems the mucus "plugs" your band or something like that. Also if you are that sensitive when you get fills and sick (I am also like that), then when you go back and get your fill put back in, don't get the full amount back. You stomach probably swells easily and you should ask them to take it a little slower so you can adjust more easily. I get too tight when I am stressed, tight in the mornings and was overly tight after my hysterectomy for about a month. That is why after 18 months I have only had two fills and a total in 2ccs in my bad. -
If your cups are still full, you will have to probably go up a cup size when you go down on your band size. I started a 44DDD and now I am a 40G. It is quite frustrating. :smile2:

One day I can eat and the next I can't :(

I am almost 18 months out and I can eat most anything when it is first cooked, but reheat it and it will give me problems. I can NOT eat reheated meat at all. It is just drier the next day. -

I think you probably made the right decision. You were only banded in September and you are halfway to your goal. That is amazing. The band is wonderful when it is working as designed, when too tight, it could be considered a device of torture. If you are able to eat good food, just less of it, then you are right on track.:tt2: -
I never wore shapers either until I started losing weight. Now, I wear one almost daily. I have the most horrendous legs known to man (at least I think so), therefore, I wear the capri shaper under my pants I wear to work. Hanes puts out one that has good control for 8.50 at WalMart. If you ever decide to try the Spanx-type line, the same woman makes the Assets, but they cost less. I find mine at Target. Oh, and yeah, getting them on the first time IS aerobic exercise. Heck, I think we ought to be able to log that time in our calories burned.

I am going to measure, but I'm not writing down JACK! I post mine on Fitday. I don't mind clicking some buttons, but I write all day at work, I just don't have it in me when I get home. I haven't been to my surgeon's office in over a year. My 2nd, and last, fill was in November of '08. I still have restriction. I still eat slow and don't usually overeat. Cereal, however, is a sneaky thing.

Ok, ladies, here's the deal...I just measured out my bowl of Special K (1 cup), and dangit, I have been eating about 50% more than that!!! I am measuring EVERYTHING in the next few week, heck maybe the next month. Oh, I have been a very naughty girl:crying:

You are the multi-quote queen... I bow down to you. I must get you to school me again on it.
