Dang, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I hope you did take today off. It sounds like you needed it.

Just like a man to need his ego stroked...I MISS YOU PLAIN WHEN YOU AREN'T AROUND!:tt2: I want the Kinect, because I does look like a lot of fun, but my son wants the Halo Reach Bundle, so the Kinect add on will have to wait. I would try sleeping before him, but he goes to bed by 7!!! So...I do the "honey, you are snoring" tap numerous times till he rolls over or just stops. Eventually I go to sleep. Well, today I had my central office formal observation. They come in and watch you teach for an hour and go through the process folio that has all the lesson plans and assessments. It went really well, so I feel better knowing that is out of the way for the year. Now, I just get observed by the principal and asst principal. I am tired and would love to go to bed, but I want to watch DWTS. Bed will have to wait, I guess. Have a wonderful evening everyone!

This isn't the full keratin, it's called a blow out and it only lasts 6-8 weeks, so it is half the price and you only have to wait 24 hours before washing. Now, if I like it, I may do the regular thing next time. It sucks about the propane tank. I hope that gets straightened out soon. I love me some Tracy! Sounds yummy! I would like having spiral curls, but what I have is waves (not bad) but I can't stand the frizz that goes along with it. Sounds positively sinful, although not as bad as the evil peanut butter pumpkins that kicked my butt for the past month. Thankfully those little buggers are gone for now. Now, I get to see the freaking peanut butter Christmas trees.

Angela, it is the same hair, just less frizzy. I was uncertain about getting the keratin treatment and then today we had what is our usual, although we haven't seen it in a while, yucky, all-day rainy, humid Louisiana weather. Uh, my head was a frizzball. So, I plan on calling tomorrow and maybe getting the mini keratin thingy done Thursday. If I like it, I will invest in the more expensive thing after Christmas. Posting a pic of my hair and then one of my friend Mary and I when I picked her up for the reunion.

Yeah, do the liquids, but a few doses of liquid ibuprofen always helps me too. I hope you feel better soon!

Tracy, congratulations on that excellent willpower. Giving away a desert is something I have done in a while. I should probably start doing it again.:hi:

I am so glad it went well. I was hoping it would! My mom's friend went through that, meaning the not wanting to be around others and being just down all of the time after she started menopause. It lasted about a year and when it passed, they jumped right back into their friendship. She was just down because she felt she was too young to start going through it and it depressed her. Hopefully your friend will be able to move on from it soon. I think I teach that kid... well, actually, a few came to school today completely hyped up on sugar. One was holding his book upside down and didn't realize it. His little eyes were darting back and forth and finally he crashed from the sugar rush around 9:30. I requested that he not consume any more candy before school. Well, my son had a mini meltdown last night. All the stress from my mom getting worse just finally got to him. I wanted him to talk to a therapist for a while now and he wouldn't so now tomorrow I am taking him to his pediatrician first so she will convince him to talk and then I am taking him to the counselor. I don't want this to overwhelm him. He is worried about my mom and my dad who is trying to care for her. I hate how this affects my children. I feel so bad for them. I will probably have my meltdown during Thanksgiving. My body usually allows me to function for work, but then when there is a holiday and down time, I get really ill. I plan on going to the gym this week so I can start relieving my stress. Oh, but my partner teacher told me all my second period students think I am prettier than ever. I had my hair cut/trimmed Saturday for the reunion and they blowed it out, so it isn't its usually wavy, slightly frizzy mess. I was trying to convince myself that I didn't need to get the keratin treatment, since it costs so much, but now I am rethinking it. Everyone commented on how nice my hair looks. I may actually get it done tomorrow, if time permits. Have a wonderful night and tomorrow, my dears.

Happy Halloween everyone! I am tired, the reunion went well and I believe I was the only sober person in the building. It is kind of fun watching all of the drunk people get loud and act foolish. Good times! Oh, and Tracy, I think you are doing a fabulous job! Congrats!:wink2:

Ashley, that is a sticky situation. If you really want to go to the party, y'all could do as your dh says, and not stay long. Go to the party to make your appearance and see your friends and leave before anyone has had too much to drink.
-
Deb, that was awesome! This is the one thread that I check daily (usually). I love all the people here, and I think it is great that our group keeps growing. Kat, it isn't stupid that it makes you jump. Hell, going through that probably left you with PSD. It sounds like you were living in hell.

I hope you get to feeling better soon, Suzie!

Wow, plain, I gotta tell ya, that new pic is really doing it for me. Love the curls!

Well, I got home from work/tutoring/shopping about 7:45. I opened the door and was greeted to the most amazing smell. My dh had cooked me dinner. Now, I am a really good cook, but this man made the most incredible meatloaf I have ever eaten! After almost 20 years, it seems he is still a keeper! Ashley, I hope you are able to get the mice under control. Once you get their entrance into your home blocked, it will be easier to get rid of them. Again, good luck! Tracy, this time of year is here to tempt us! It sounds like you have the right idea though...Just do the best that you can and make adjustments where you can. Kat, I hope Manda is able to get back to roller derby soon. I remember how excited you said she was about it.

Oh, I can be in, but I am certain y'all will whip my butt! I will try.:huh2:

I want mine before Thanksgiving, but if I can't get it in the next 2 weeks, I will wait until the week after. I don't want to not be able to eat turkey and a little dressing. :blushing: I am going to call either Monday or Tuesday and then I guess I will take the day off. I don't like taking a half day, since I have to plan for a sub.

Kat, OMG, I just checked in today and went through all the emotions of your ordeal in a span of 5 minutes. I am so sorry you had to go through that due to someone's incompetence. I am very glad Rick is ok and you finally got some sleep. Ashley, you can spray the foam, but steel wool is better for sealing small openings. Rodents don't chew through the steel wool, but I think they may on the foam. Oh, and every little crack has to be closed, since they are sneaky little suckers and can squish really small when they need to! Good luck!

I am sorry your trip got canceled, but congratulations on dh's job being permanent. That is a blessing, I am sure. Tracy, I think you are doing a great job. You were able to eat less of something and choose a healthier alternative. That is what this is all about! You are going to do amazingly well, I can feel it. Kitty cookies... Oh, and the pb pumpkins called me again this week. I MUST get control of myself! And, you mom will definitely be in my prayers. Awesome job, Suz!!!! I hope you get to feeling better soon. Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

Ugh, I need a fill. I had two slices of regular crust pizza yesterday! I have only had two fills so far, so I don't even know on what days they are done. I am calling this week!
-
 Just tell him, he should feel grateful that you want "it" bad.

That is my favorite flavor too! It has been my stand-by for chocolate cravings since I was first banded. Hello, Ashley and welcome. I am Cindy, and I live near Baton Rouge. I have been married almost 20 years and have 3 kids. 27 year old stepdaughter who has blessed me with 3 granddaughters; 18 year old daughter and 16 year old son. I teach 4th grade math and science in one of the top school districts in my state and I love my job! I work 50-55 hours a week, but it is worth it. My daughter is attending LSU and majoring in business management. It didn't take her long to decide she didn't want to be a big girl any more. :w00t: Actually, I think it was at the end of the first week. Most kids can't wait to leave home, and I think mine would never leave if given a choice. Well ladies and Trey, I am tired. Today was district walk-through day. It is when a lot of people from all over the district come in to evaluate the instruction and overall effectiveness of our school. We always do what we are supposed to do, but it is stressful anyway. My kids were great and were doing exactly what they were supposed to do. I love them. They are awesome. Oh, but one day last week, a few of my darling Hispanic girls were sitting by me after lunch and they were discussing that their moms were getting them hightlights when they turn 14. I told them I thought that wasn't such a good idea since their hair was so beautiful naturally. Alexa turns to me and asks "Your hair is so beautiful. Do you highlight it?" I answer, "no, hun. I only have a few gray hairs that I call natural highlights. Marisol, looks and says "Oh, yeah, I see a lot of them!" GRRRRRRRRRR. I love Marisol, and she gives the most amazing hugs ever, but I admit to thinking a not so nice word about her for a split second. Have a lovely evening, dear friends.

Good morning! Healthy eating? What is that? Y'all are so much more disciplined than I am. I must get with the program. Deb- I didn't see before and afters, but your profile pic looks great! I think my best friend from high school and I have decided to leave our husbands at home and go to our high school reunion together. She said a guy we were friends with contacted her on facebook to see if we were going. She told him if we decided to go, it would be as a couple...I told her that would give them something to talk about. We can't help but stir things up. I asked her what the "dress code" was and she said she didn't quite care, she was wearing jeans. I love her and her attitude. She had cancer a few years ago and lives each day to its fullest. Have a good one, my dears!

 Thank you, I needed that laugh. And super thanks for the prayers. You too, Michelle. I love this thread and the peeps here!

Well, it has been a crap couple of days. Friday, on my way to work, a dog (BIG dog) ran in front of my car. It was 6:05 am, completely dark and rural. I was so upset that I hit the dog and then upset again, since I just paid the second note on the car today. That road is awful and now I am looking at whether or not I need to travel on the interstate through Baton Rouge to go to work, since deer season is coming up. It will be about 50 more miles round trip each day, but if I hit a deer, it could kill me. Not sure what I am going to do at this point. Well, my mom is officially in the final stages of Alzheimer's and is not doing well. My dad is doing his best to care for her at home, but it is getting difficult. He is getting less than 2 hours of sleep per night. He is delaying the 4,000 per month nursing home as long as possible, but I am not too sure how much longer that will be. Yesterday, I fixed her plate and we were eating dinner when she looked up at me and asked me where my mom was. I keep it together pretty well, until she gets upset and cries and then I just hold her and cry too. Ok, depressing post is over.

Tracy, dirt cake is amazing, but it isn't really a cake at all. It is basically vanilla pudding, cool whip, cream cheese and powdered sugar. That gets mixed together and then crushed oreos go on top, so it looks like dirt. Serve it in a flower pot with gummy worms crawling out and maybe an artificial flower or two. I found a pic of one that is decorated for Halloween, but usually it is served in a new flower pot. Dirt Cake I Recipe - Allrecipes.com

There may be something to the magical 2 fills. I have had exactly 2 fills and each one was only 1cc and I have a big band. Every time I think I may need to return to get a small fill, I realize it is really just my overeating and not the band not being tight enough. My band works just fine, it is my big mouth that opens. Still, I started to slowly lose again and even made it to 100lbs down, so I can't really complain. Tracy, you are doing an awesome job! I am attempting to stay away from the pumpkins, but the little buggers call my name sometimes. The last time I bought a pack I was in Target. I walked into the Starbucks in there, one of my favorites, and shared with all the barristas. They were happy to get them and it meant I couldn't eat them all myself! Michelle, I hope you are having some good days now. Suzie, I am sorry your Thanksgiving is being derailed, but happy your surgery is finally scheduled. I had my Christmas messed up 2 years ago when I had surgery 3 days before. It isn't fun. Shar, just find happiness that you are still moving downward. It will pick back up again, I am sure. I went months and months without any loss at all. In 2 1/2 years I have hit more than one big plateau, but I got through them, and so will you. Angela, love, love, love the kitty litter cake link. I have made the dirt cake many times and people always love it, but I have never seen anyone do kitty litter! Parent conferences are tomorrow and I scheduled all 40 parents!!! I have back to back conferences from 8:40-3:30. Wish me luck!
