    I'm here to help...

wow, I am joining this party late...Hi, my name is Cindy and I have been banded 19 months. I see a few other July '08 bandsters here. I am currently off today because, even though I live in southern Louisiana we are having a SNOW DAY!!! I am sorry many of you are experiencing problems with your flights. Jeez, who would've thought there would be this many problems right now? Of course, as they keep reminding us down here "the Saints did when the Super Bowl, so why do we keep forgetting that Hell has frozen over?!" I hope that y'all have a wonderful time at your get together, even though it is chilly there too, it seems that the company will be great:thumbup:.

    Sketchers Shape-Ups

I bought my ShapeUps 3 weeks ago and I don't take them off!!! They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I bought the pair that is solid black so I could wear them to work in. I stand and walk around my room all day and my legs and feet don't hurt at the end of the day! This was the best $100 I have ever spent.
  3. I just now read your story and it is good you are doing well with recovery. Update when you can and I hope your band experience is better this time.

    Abdominoplasty @ 300lbs

It could be done now, but the closer you are to goal, the happier you will be with the end result. If you have it now and then lose another 80 lbs, it may look like you need another one. It would be better to wait until you get a little closer to goal. BUT, congrats on feeling the bones...isn't it cool?

    Breat Size

I think everyone is different, but your age may have a little to do with the sagginess. I started at 44DDD now I am a 40G. My actual breasts didn't go down, but the band size did, but the cup size went up.

Hungry in the morning - breakfast ideas?

I am the same way when I eat bars. I love Fiber one bars, but because it is full of sugar, I am stomach-rumbling hungry an hour later. For lunch, I only eat a campbells soup-at-hand and it holds me for about 3 hours. So, some mornings I cook grits at home and pack it to school. I then nuke it for a minute and it tastes great. I have heard that some people like to eat eggs for breakfast, so you could probably pack a hard-boiled egg or two and that should definitely keep you satisfied for at least 3 hours.

    Regrets

Do you regret that it was necessary or are you having problems with your band? Your weightloss looks really good. I also started with a BMI of 50 and I have not regretted being banded at all.

Oh, jeez, I just ate too much. I knew I shouldn't, but I can't eat the meat when it is reheated, so I ate too much of it now and I am miserable. Ugh, well, 1 hour 12 minutes until the Super Bowl!!! GO SAINTS!!!

Well, Tracy, I can't call in sick if I'm not. I just know I will REALLY get sick if I do that. Besides, central office supervisors will be at our school doing observations. They like me, because I do my job well, and I would like to keep it that way. Sooooo, if I am on the list to be observed I would like to be there. As nerve-racking as it is, I like to get it over with. My hubby is grilling today. We are having babyback ribs, burgers and shrimp. I am also making homemade baked beans that are very tasty. I will be glued to my tv at 5:25!!!!

Jenn: have you been to the doc? My friend had both flu shots two months ago and has the flu, and she is doing the same thing...fever of 102 + and bad cough, with backache. It must be a different strain of the flu we have down here. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Michelle: I hope your back lets up soon. It is so hard to get comfortable with that kind of pain; also, regarding your daughter, are they sure that she doesn't have a yeast infection. My daughter would get them when she was younger, but not anymore, and she didn't like going to the bathroom when she had one. I used to have to use the cream on her until it cleared up. I guess she doesn't get them anymore, because she is NEVER sick now and therefore doesn't take antibiotics. I hope whatever it is clears up soon.

Tracy, my dh is grilling ribs tomorrow in the cold windy weather for the super bowl. New Orleans has school off on Monday, I am thinking a few more districts will have to cancel if too many people call-in "sick". My district, however, does not think that our beloved Saints going to the Super Bowl is holiday worthy...whatever!

    Let's play a (new) game!

End....as in...SAINTS are in the ENDzone Yes, I am waiting for Sunday.
  21. Here is the link to the United Way in your area. This is the list of agencies they are affiliated with. AGENCIES Also, I was on the depo shot for one year only. It took me that long to realize that every time I got a shot, I would lay awake in bed thinking about the craziest stuff imaginable. The last time, I was thinking about divorcing my husband who had done absolutely NOTHING wrong. Once I stopped the shots, my crazy thoughts did too.

    1 week out!

Welcome and congratulations on your success with your pre-op diet so far. As far as being jittery, you will be so happy once it is done. After surgery, keep up with your pain meds, walk as much as possible, and stick to your post-op diet and you should be fine. Good luck!

  24. If you are in school, you can reach out to a counselor. If not, check with your local chapter of United Way. They can refer you to a therapist who has a sliding scale for a fee. You will only pay what you can afford. BUT, the point is, if you feel like this, you must find someone to talk to.
