The best advice I can give is to walk as much as you can, and keep up with your pain meds.

I don't understand!!!
crzytchr replied to Bell1138's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you have PROPER restriction, you don't feel sick all the time, you just feel satisfied on less food. I think many times the problem comes from doctors giving big fills and people wanting restriction so desperately that they are willing to stay with a band that is too tight. The only times I get sick (about once or twice a month) is if I eat bites that are too big, too fast OR if I eat dry, stringy meat. Other than that, I eat pretty much what I want, I just eat less of it. -
I agree with humming bird, you will need something more than motrin to help with that. Call and see if they can give you a liquid lortab so you can sleep at night. I had that same problem with my wisdom teeth until I had them taken out. It was awful. I hope you feel better soon.

Sndy, my kids are older too, 15, 18, and a 26 yr old stepdaughter, but I still run if they are hurt. Oh, and I have 3 grandbabies!!!

Sounds like bad gas, but you should call your doctor to be safe. -
Help! not losing!!!
crzytchr replied to dmcguire0408's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It definitely sounds like you need to up your calories some. I eat 1200-1500 per day. You can add some by adding a couple of healthy snacks each day. When you go in for a fill, discuss this with your doctor and see what he/she says. -
Kat, you would think with all of the newspapers having problems and cutbacks they would try to keep their loyal customers happy.

Run?...ummmm...Nope, can't say that I do. I run if my children are hurt or something is on fire. Other than that, it is walking for me:tongue2: I do, however, admire people who can and do run. Bad joints run in my family (degenerative cartilage problems) and my knees already grind .

Well, the nurse called and he didn't even check the iron or D, he checked the B12 levels and my cholesterol, which both of those are good. I think I will just supplement iron and see if it helps, if it does, I will continue.
-
I have been feeling blah as well. I just am tired and cold all of the time, so I thought maybe I have a possible low iron thing going on, not sure.I went to the doctor Monday and I have a sinus infection (which I knew) and the doc decided to check my blood, so yesterday I had fasting bloodwork. I guess I will know next week.

Self sabotaging........
crzytchr replied to esv2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't skip lunch and don't stress over 3 lbs in one day, it is most assuredly water. Unless you gorged on food all day long, you don't gain 3 lbs of fat in a day. Drink extra water to flush the fluids out and you should notice a difference in a day or two. Skipping meals really won't help you and could slow your metabolism down. -
Yep, Auntie Flo appeared two days prior to surgery and I wasn't allowed to have anything on:scared2:. I was mortified, but they assured me it isn't a big deal to them at all. It happens all of the time.

I also use allrecipes a lot! I highly recommend reading the user reviews. Many times I take into account the things that they say so I can modify the recipe.

The last 3 dogs we got were rescue dogs. We found all of them on petfinder.org. You can put in the breed and sex you want, your zip and they can locate dogs that are as close to you as possible. Also, when you look at each individual pet it tells you the temperament of the dog and whether or not it is housebroken or has any health problems. We adopted the first two, each with health problems and had them 5 and 7 years. The one we have now had no health problems. She is a malti-poo and an absolute doll. We will never again get a dog that isn't a rescue. There are so many out there that need a good home and you know what you are getting when you adopt these dogs!

Congrats on the loss kimaly. I still sit at nothing, but it is my fault, so I can't complain.

Help!!! with Preop Magnesium Citrate
crzytchr replied to mcastane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, it does usually work pretty quick for most people, but give it until the morning. If it doesnt' work by then, I would call the surgeon's office and ask for advice. Oh, btw, did you drink the whole bottle? -
Help!!! with Preop Magnesium Citrate
crzytchr replied to mcastane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whatever you do, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE! When it starts working you MUST be near your bathroom. It should work and probably soon. Is your surgery tomorrow? -
That sounds like so much fun! Lucky! I would love to learn how to dance. I haven't actually gone clothes SHOPPING in a while. That may be because my big butt is in the middle of a killer plateau and I haven't lost in a while! I will, however have to shop in about a month, because I am still a size smaller than last spring, so I will need new tops. In order to keep up with this group, I MUST learn how to multi-post.

1 of 2 things probably going on...either your band was installed prefilled, which some doctors do, or your stomach is sensitive to being messed with (mine is). Either would explain you having restriction from drinking water. I never experienced true "bandster hell" because I had restriction just from having the band placed. I have only had 2 small fills in 19 months and I get tight when I am stressed. Whichever is going on, just make sure you are consistently sipping water. You must get the water in. When are you supposed to start Protein Shakes? If you aren't able to get in enough, you may want to try New Whey Protein bullets (42g). They were considered a clear liquid by my doc and have a lot of protein in only 3 1/2 oz. Because they are so small you can get the whole thing down in less than 5-6 sips. The taste isn't the best in the world, but since it is a small amount, it is doable.

Fanny Moves to Phase Two
crzytchr replied to Fanny Adams's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You are going to be fine. Acknowledgment is the first step, so you are on your way. I still think your decision to stay a little looser at first was a good choice, and I doubt you wonderful new body will have any lasting effects from the 12lb. You are on a great start with the Optifast and will probably drop at least 4 lbs before you get that fill. -
Me too, Tracy. I went to the doctor today. I have a sinus infection so I am on another round of Zithromax. Jenn, I am glad to see you are feeling a little better.

It is good to hear you are doing well. I am glad to hear you think it is worth it, because I am definitely looking at this in the next year or so. -
My weight fluctuates up and down one pound, so I never change the ticker. Until I decide to exercise regularly it isn't going to drop. Luckily, I guess I don't overindulge toooooo much to make it go up. But believe me, I do indulge. Do Reeses Peanut Butter pumpkins, trees, hearts, eggs, ring anyone's bell? They are the work of the devil!!! When I walk down the isles they whisper to me "buy me, I am soooo good":scared2:
