need help getting 60 grams of protein, hair starting to thin.
crzytchr replied to mandze90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make a black bean Soup that I eat with reduced fat sharp cheddar and ff sour cream. My husband and kids love to eat it also, as well as my coworkers. PM me if you want the recipe. -
Tracy...yep, you betcha...students come 15 more days!! I also had my last and toughest observation by the Asst. Principal today and she loved me! So, a lot of stress from worrying about that is over. :blushing: Alex is so ready to be out of school. She is still mailing out her invitations since we just recently got her pictures in...she had prom a week ago and we went to her senior banquet last week. I am happy to announce that there were 10 people at each table and I was the ONLY person to leave food on a plate!!!:tt2:Which is saying a lot since it was mango chicken, roasted potatoes and Caesar salad. Oh, there was carrots and cauliflower, but I don't get props for leaving that on my plate, since I don't like it. I have so far kind of dodged the plague that my family insists on bringing home. I was in pain and hurting last week, but with phenergan, I avoided throwing up!!!! and Tracy, I am glad you are feeling better. Michelle, I am wishing you a speedy recovery. Please take it easy and let yourself heal properly. Kat, have you heard anymore about your daughter's shoulder? I have been thinking about her. Suz, be careful and I hope they get that insurance worked out. I HATE red tape!

One easy way is to use New whey Protein bullets. I used the 42g ones. You get 42 g and each one is only 3 1/2 oz, so it is really easy to drink. I have seen someone else suggest the Pure Unflavored powder sold on Bariatriceating.com. They are out at the moment, but I plan on buying it and adding it to Soups. PURE Unflavored Protein Isolate - 42 scoops per container - perfect for soups & broth - SOLD OUT -
Going to a movie theater....how do you handle it?

I bring my water in with me, usually a cup of ice water from Starbucks and eat the movie popcorn without butter. -
How do people on The Biggest Loser lose so much weight?

It was either Mikey or Kholi who wasn't eating enough earlier this season. I can't quite remember. -

They definitely eat more than 800 calories per day. I have seen on the show where they have chastised players for NOT eating. And, like the other posters have said, working out is their full time job while they are there. -
Just needed to celebrate

I used the tropical punch (only flavor I bought). It is really tart, but since it is only 3 1/2 oz and I only had to drink 1 usually a day, it wasn't too bad. My dad used them and still uses them after he had his bypass last year. Some people mix them with Crystal Lite, but I just drank my straight, one sip at a time. -
Congratulations on the new pants!!!!

You are quite welcome! My best advice is never get so anxious for weight loss that you allow yourself to be overfilled. I keep my band on the loose side. My weight loss has been really slow during my second year of banding, but I enjoy all foods I enjoyed prior to my surgery, I just eat a lot less of it. I have recently started exercising, so that should also help me begin to slowly lose again. Keep up the good work! As long as the scale creeps down and doesn't go up, you are on the right track.

I don't know that it would hurt, you should ask your nut or surgeon's office, but if you do, be careful that you don't swallow it. It could definitely cause a problem.

During the clear liquid phase I used New Whey protein bullets to keep me satisfied. The ones I got had 42g of protein and were only 3 1/2 oz each. During full liquids I really liked cream of chicken soup. I spiced it up with a little pepper, sage and garlic powder. It was so yummy that my daughter took it to work for lunch. -
Tracy, I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I was a side and stomach sleeper prior to being banded. Right after surgery I slept propped up with a wedge in the bed, and after losing the first 30 lbs, most nights I sleep on my back all night. I haven't slept on my stomach since my surgery in July '08. I will say, that even being propped up, I needed help getting up to the sitting position in the bed the first 2 nights, so you may want to try to have someone stay with you for a night or two, just to be on the safe side. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!

Hello all. I am getting banded on May 17th 2010. I am sooooo scared ... HELP!!
crzytchr replied to ChocolateDream81's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello Dana, I understand your fear, because I was there. I was 40 when I was banded, and it was the first time I had ever had surgery. I was terrified. I let them know how scared I was when I got there, they gave me something to chill me out and calm my nerves, and it all came out fine. I don't even remember being wheeled into the OR. It should all come out fine and you will wake up in recovery banded and on your way to a new life. If you have never had anesthesia before you may also voice your concerns about nausea and see if they can give you something to prevent it. Also, ask your surgeon to send you home with something for nausea in case it becomes a problem while recuperating. Cindy -

You are doing great! I understand about not feeling it about yourself, because I am the same way. I have to look at my driver's license or my ALMOST before pic to see a difference.

The PA at my surgeon's office does my fills and hasn't used fluoro. She has easily found and filled me without pain both times. It seems to depend on the position of your port and the expertise of the person doing the fill.

a few post op questions
crzytchr replied to karmaandkismet's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Not drinking with meals has actually been easy for me. You have to chew your food real well, so there isn't a need to "wash" it down. I never realized how little I chewed prior to surgery. As far as recovery and time off, just be sure about your lifting restrictions. I was told not to lift anything over 10 lbs for 4 weeks. 2 weeks after I would've been able to return to work with no problem, but I don't have to lift anything. -
WTG, Tracy!!! You are stronger than me...I have never spit chocolate out. I knew you could do this:thumbup:

Yawns, burps and nose blowing, OH MY!
crzytchr replied to StrangeDz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are probably suffering from some residual swelling brought on by that last fill. My stomach is extremely sensitive to stress and being messed with. I had restriction just from having my band put on and I have only had two small (1cc) fills in almost 2 years. You can try some Children's liquid Motirn for few days. That should bring the swelling down and give you some relief. The next time you go in for a fill, have them take it up in smaller increments. You may only be able to go up .5ccs per time at the most. Good luck, and I hope you get some relief. -
If you are working out daily, you should probably consume more than 800-1000 calories per day. I would add at least 2 protein snacks a day for a week and see if that jump starts the weight loss again. When you are active, your body needs more calories. My coach potato behind (absent from the gym for 2 weeks) could do the 800-1000, but if you are moving and working out, you need more.

I've been banded since 11/08 and not doing so well..help!!
crzytchr replied to eastcoastgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to get a small unfill. You probably need less than 1cc taken out. You will be able to eat healthier food and you exercise enough that you actually NEED this food. You may be surprised to actually lose a few more pounds if you are able to eat a little more food. -
Hello ladies. I hope life is treating you well. I had to go looking for this in my subscribed threads. I thought I had accidentally deleted it. Charlene, did the weather finally clear up for you? Y'all all have so much more restraint than I do, which probably explains why y'all are losing and I am stuck, stuck, stuck at the same weight for-e-ver....
