I have always been the heavy girl but a few years ago my weight got really out of control. I quit smoking and in less than 2 years gained 80lbs putting me at 303lbs. I was really depressed and felt hopeless when it came to losing the weight. I think I had become comfortable with being invisible and on some level used the weight as a shield to keep people away. They don't see me so they cant hurt me. But I was just lieing to myself - after all aren't the biggest lies we tell - the ones we tell ourselves? I finally just got tired of being tired all the time and decided to do the lap band. The after part was harder than I expected - i had a lot of problems and pain after the surgery but it was worth it. I have lost 107lbs so far and already feel so much better!
