Wow, that is awesome! I lost about 20 pounds on the preop diet then nothing. I had a newborn and lost focus and gained the 20 back.
What are you doing for exercise and diet. People like you motivate me do do better. Thats why I got back on here.
I'm 2 hours from Charlotte in Greenwood, sc. I have family in Charlotte and travel there several times a year. I too have been struggling with getting the weight off but I haven't been doing as I should. trying to get back motivatated.
Hello, I see its been a while since any of you have posted on here... I'm from Greenwood and was banded in Oct. 2011. Just wanted to know if any of you were still on here. I lost focus on the band and need help..
I had to do 4 protein shakes a day and all the jello, pudding, pop sickles, and I ate a bunch of tomato soup. I also had chicken and beef broth and tomato/basil soup was my favorite!
I know the feeling well... I'm 7 days post op and still on the liquid diet.. i went to Costco's and walked through the food part and thought I was going to lose it! I have to keep myself under control but come Thanksgiving, I'll be eating turkey!
My Nutritionist told me that I needed 80 to 100 grams of protein a day. I get my Protein shakes from GNC and they contain 20 grams per scoop mixed with 8 oz of water or milk. It's all based on your size... I'm 6 ft and was 280 at the time of talking to my nutritionist.
I feel your pain on this .... I have to keep telling myself one more week and I'll be on soft foods. I'm 7 days post op and its about to kill me. Think of the weight loss as your motivation..... And remember, come Thanksgiving you'll be eating turkey!
If you are only three days out you should be on liquids I imagine... 3 to 4 shakes a day and you can still eat soups, jello and so forth. The protein will curve your hunger. You should be taking in around 80 to 100 grams of protein a day.
I have a question for you post surgery banders.... I had my surgery last week and I noticed that my left incision (large insicision) feels hard around it while my other incisions don't... Just wondering if that was normal.
I'm on day three post op with the band and can't get used to the gas... I wish I could burp or something but I can't and it hurts. Does this gas ever go away or is this just going to part of my life for now on with the band?
