  1. Kimmom-- I can relate to your situation. I have been very private about my own banding. My parents and siblings know, but not my inlaws. I know how you feel. Chris NJ is obviously very comfortable with his situation, which I commend greatly. I wish I could be that way. Yes it is true that it is obvious to everyone that I am overweight, yet I am an EXTREMELY private person and does not want everyone knowing my business. I feel that this is a long road that I want to travel alone with only my closest VERY SUPPORTING family and husband. I didn't want to deal with all the questions of what can you eat how much have you lost, etc. It does make me feel really good when people notice that I have lost weight, and when they ask how I tell them fitness center and cutting back on what I eat. Which is the truth. As far as what your husband did, I don't blame you for being upset. Because he told something that was very sacred and private that you asked him not to. As to why he did no one but he knows. He may feel pressured by his FIL to knoww all of your business and didn't feel he would stop until he knew. As far as your FIL goes next time he asks tell him you appreciate his concern but for now you would prefer to not discuss it with everyone. P.S. My best friend doesn't know either.

    Too Much Food?

When I went for my first fill (which my Dr said I didn't need unless I wanted it b/c I was losing weight) he gave me a sheet with my instructions that stated I was to eat 3 meals a day each meal only FOUR ounces at a time. A light snack if needed. Everything that i've read has said four ounce meals. I actually feel satisfied after I eat.

    Feb 2007 Bandsters: April Challenge

Exercise and I like the idea of a water challenge!!!!!
  4. How much is everyone eating at a time?? I only eat 4oz for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I try to not snack--no more than 2 a day--FFpopcicle or something. I have lost 24lbs since 2/1 was banded on 2/22. Haven't lost any in 1.5 weeks I too am getting frustated. When I went for my 1 week post op he said that i may continue to lose, stay the same or even gain 3 or 4 lbs. I think to gain would be devestating.
  5. I too was banded on 2/22/07. I feel your pain. Today I feel preety good. Still have a hard time sitting and getting up. Just keep telling myself that it will get easier!! I haven't drank much--I'm terrified of drinking too much and making myself sick!! Best wishes to you!!

    February 2007 bandsters!

I was banded 2/22/07. My stomach is still very tender. I have a hard time getting up and sitting sometimes. Thursday was the worst. I didn't think I as going to be able to get out of the car when we got home--I just started crying because of the pain. My husband has been wonderful. I actually slept in the bed that night propped up on several pillows kind of on my right side. Slept pretty good. Hadn't ate much--the thought of broth makes me cringe--ready for some real soups!!
  7. Surgey date is 2/22. A little nervous. I am doing a 2 week pre op diet-Nutrimed. WHich is not bad at all. Everything tastes pretty good except the strawberry shakes. Lost 8lbs since my dr appt 2/1. Anyway I have a few questions: Can you have caffeine after banding? I know they say no diet sodas because of the carbonation. But not sure if you can have drinks with caffeine in them.

    Mri????

I am a CT/MRI Tech. You have nothing to worry about. The MRI unit consists of a high power MAGNET. Anything that contains metal is a problem, a pacemaker is not compatable. Your port chould be fine but please inform the technologist before your procedure. Hope your test turns out fine!!

My husband went to the seminar with me and I think it helped both of us. I think he got a good understanding about it and it answered both of our questions. Good luck to you and your wife on your journey!

  12. I have been reading many posts on this forum for the past week and have now decided to introduce myself. I am 27yrs old and will be banded on 2/22/07. I am very excited, nervous and scared. I have struggled with my weight for the last 5 or 6 yrs. I have come to the conclusion that this is the best TOOL to Help me lose the weight. I have a very supportive husband. I have chose to keep this a secret from most people that know me. I have not even told my parents yet. I plan on telling them soon, but I know that they will not think this is the right thing and that I haven't tried hard enough on my own. I really need the support and encouragement that I see shown on this forum.
  13. Thank You so much. I appreciate it. I've been trying to find meal suggestions. I'll check them out!
