Sinus Drainage After Lap Band Surgery ?

I have had the same problem since being banded. Not throwing up, but coming close. And lots and lots of mucus. My primary care physician has me on nasonex, which has helped some.

Hungry And Needs 1st Lap Band Fill

I was banded on 10/26 and my hunger is back. Back to eating as much as before being banded, but still losing just not a lot! My next appointment is next week and am hoping for my first fill. But since I'm still losing I'm not sure he will give it me!

    New Nsv

Somebody told me I looked Stylish today! WHAT!!!! YAY!!!! The weight I have lost gave me the confidence today to wear my jeans inside my new tall boots. And the compliments have been rolling in. This is huge for me. I am 100% a jeans and t-shirt girl, which is allowed at work. But I knew for sure, one day soon that Stacy and Clinton from "What Not To Wear" would be banging down my door! Stylish....who knew! Thank you lapband

    Port Pain- Banded 11/22

I was banded on 10/26 and still have mild soreness near the port. But I was finally able to sleep on my stomach for the first time this week But lots of movement throughout the day and I'll be sore at night. It just takes awhile for your muscle in that area to heal.
  7. I am just thankful that the numbers on the scale are moving down! Whether is be .5 pound or 2 pounds. It is all better then the upward movement that was happening before!
  8. Glad everything went well! I used Dr Wagner in STL and he is great as well. Hope you recovery continues to go well and you have a successful journey

Keep coming back to this site! I had a lot of my questions preband answered here. And some that I didn't even know I should be asking! And now postband I still come back daily. There is always something new to learn, someone new to inspire you, and a group of people to support you as much as possible

    9 Days To Go...

I went into surgery with Bronchitis. NOT FUN. Try what ever you can to get rid of that cough before surgery. It was very painful for me. And 3 weeks post op I am STILL sick.

    the new me !

Needed to read these success stories today. Going out for my first "Girls Night" since being banded. Started at 255 and down to 230, but still self conscious about getting dolled up and going out. But these posts helped me realize that as long as I stick with the band it will have great effects and I will just continue to lose the weight. Great job everyone!

    Hungry After Lap Band Surgery

I am 3 weeks postop as well and get hungry usually about 2 hours after eating. So I may eat something but after a few bites feel full again. So luckily that stops me from over eating. My first fill in on Dec 6th and I can't wait. I just try and keep busy and stay away from food. And continue to drink fluids, sometimes that helps the hunger pass as well.

Will Insurance Reject Me The First Time ?

I used United as a secondary to cover my surgery. All I had to do was meet the BMI requirement and go through some testing. I was approved in 5 hours. I would just call and check with the insurance company on all your requirements. Make sure they check your specific plan as well. Some companies but clauses into their insurance plans the exclude bariatric surgery to keep costs low. My insurance declines that coverage, thats why I had to wait to get on my husbands insurance as secondary to get my surgery.
  19. I'm down 25 pounds, and most people have noticed my new hair cut but not the weight loss. I got a few comments from the girls that knew I had surgery that my face was looking thinner.
  20. Went to see the primary care physician today. Still have Bronchitis after 5 weeks. Had a chest xray. Got lots of meds :(

    Ooh Ooh Oooh!!

I had surgery on a Wednesday and tried to go back to work on Monday. I also have a desk job. Only made it a few hours and then got sent home. I did work from home Tuesday and Wednesday and then was able to make it in on Thursday. I would definately recommend a week for recovery. I'm not sure what the pending status means, but I'm sure the billing dept of your surgeons office could answer that question for you. I guess I got lucky with the insurance approval process. The office called me at 10 am one morning to tell me they had everything they needed and that they had submited my case for approval to insurance that morning. Then they called back at 3pm to say I had been approved and could schedule my surgery in the next two weeks. 5 hours and I was approved! If you don't get any answers from the surgeons office you can also try calling the insurance company. Mine is always good about answering questions, but I know some are not. But it is worth a shot
  22. I'm three weeks out as well and still at a constant level 3 pain in my mid section. I had a single inscision surgery at my belly button which has healed nicely and no issues there. But the 2 inches above my belly button are still very sore and it goes across my whole stomach, not just the side with the port. I also feel that "pulled stitch" sometimes. Anyone else have this post up? Is it just part of the healing process?

    Food Funeral

I felt the same way! And wouldn't you know it, but my surgery got moved up 4 months. And all of a sudden I didn't have months to get in all of my favorite foods. And the moment I thought I needed to start eating 6 meals a day to get all my favorites in....I got sick. Sick to where I wasn't hungry/couldn't eat for a week! In the end I had 2 days before I started my preop diet to get in my favorites. And guess what, it was pretty easy to narrow down what I wanted. And now.....3 weeks post op, I can still pretty much eat those things. I just eat way less then I would have before. I thought I might have to go through a grieving process with food. But I really didn't! If I want some cheesecake, then I have it! But instead of a huge slice, I have one or two bites and am done. The mental aspect of eating is a hard one, but so far I have found the band to be on my side and really help me realize that I can beat my food addiction. I wish you all the best in your journey, and keep us up to date on how you are doing

    Surgery in 2 days...

I was a mess before my surgery to! I found shopping to be a good way to pass the time. Dreaming of myself in all those smaller clothes. I had a rough week after surgery as well, but just kept telling myself that all of this was worth it. And every day I started to feel better. Now I am 3 weeks post op and loving life! Good luck with surgery, I'll be praying for you
