Wow Jennifur, thats brilliant! Youve lost loads of weight and are seriously fit!! & a new job to boot, you go girl!! Judy the dinner and the beatles concert sounds great! Well didnt do a lot today, had my hair cut a bit shorter, did a workout, well 1 & 1/4 miles, some stretches & a few arm weights! Its been a lovely sunny day here too, although not like Terry and chin chila decribed, the heat you described sounded like Purta Vallatra weather in Mexico, very hot, humid, and you sweat sweat sweat!! I guess all you want to do is lie in a swimming pool ....well, I know I would . Sara xxxxxx -

Morning All OMG Judy....You have lost SO MUCH weight!!!!!! You look fantastic, and it shows all of the hard work you have put in. :clap2: Terry, well, personally I wouldnt have a fill prior to your holiday, the reason being is PBing (I did it once in the resturant, when I was so stressed re David and I couldnt eat anything, and I was so embarrased, and apologised profusly, luckily not many folks were near by) personally Id set up a fill a day or so after you get back. Then you can relax on hols, enjoy it, I bet you dont put any weight on....you'll see! Kat, Daves doing ok. The physio told him to walk a mile a day, and hes doing that now, but yesterday Im sure he over did it, he walked up to the hills at the back of our home (2+ miles!) and had to take a pain killer last night. His upper back has all of the plates n pins in, he says thats ok, but lower down (where his mid pelvis is fractured) he says he feels like his skin is burning deep down? I think it must be where his muscles etc were severely bashed, his left bottom is slowly going back to a normal shape too, it was badly dented instead of round, and its only just going back to normal (it was a month ago yesterday he had the accident 10th July) Oh how time flys! But he's doing good so far, he's lucky the girls are home (uni and college) when they go back in Sep/Oct thats when he may get a bit lonely, we'll see.... Tracyk, aw thanks for your kind words, I have missed everyone, and this place is getting me focused again! Well folks, its been a week since I had a fill and got a restriction, bearing in mind Im not drinking any alcohol either (which Im sure has played a major part in this weeks weight loss) Ive lost 5lbs. I havent done as well as you all, I must confess. In total Ive now lost 2 stone (28lbs) so Ive a lot of catching up to do! At least I know my band is working now, and I am so pleased. I really hope I can get a regular weight loss now, but like you all have been doing, I have to really work at it. Have a great Saturday!! Lots of Love Sara xxxxxxxx -

Evening All Well I actually did a workout today...shock horror!! Felt so much better for it too. Aw thanks for the kind words Judy, I really look forward to logging on here every day now. The Disney trip sounds really fun, I took my kids years ago to Euro Disney and we loved it. Huntress, cant you phone up the doc and see if he can do a fill for you next week, or eariler than your pre booked one? Tracy sending you 'happy vibes' for your holiday, I hope you have a wonderful time, go and enjoy yourself...and have lots of fun xxxx Mrs Jen, wow the pics of you show you have lost a lot of weight, its great to meet you too Smly, wow youve done so well weight loss wise, congrats!! Jennifur, let us know about the job, it sounds positive though, do you think you'll find out by Monday? I've got an interview coming up soon, this coming week in fact, but Im unsure if its the right thing or not to be honest, but theres no harm in going.... Take care all, Lots of Love Sara xxxxx -

Morning All Judy, the boat looks fantastic, I love the sherif badge too, its a shame youve got to take it off! Terry, re wine...your right who needs the stuff .....lol Kat, gosh I read your last post, I hope it's not as bad as you feel it could be (I pray not) maybe she gets more love and attention from you, and she doesnt want to leave you, it could be that simple? Nans always spoil there grandkids, I loved mine to bits. Jennifur, good luck with the job interview. Tracy, wow you sound like you have quite a restriction if its hard to eat cheese/turkey etc, I'm a bit scared of that to be truthful, I've got 7.5mls in my 10ml band, and I probably could manage 0.5 more, but I can eat a tea plate full (childs plate) so I figure its ok, before the last fill i could eat a full adults plate and more. I hope it eases off a bit for you. Well its Friday (Yeeehaaa!) and the weekend approaches, Ive had an easier week this week (re work) as Ive not booked so much it, and I feel so much better. I saw my Dr yesterday (a week since I last saw her for stress) and I told her I felt 95% better, she was pleased, so I dont have to see her again for another 4 weeks. Next week I have to get back into full swing again re work, just hope it goes ok, but I feel a lot more calmer, and getting back to my old self. I feel more positive too, Dave is getting better, he still gets pain, but hes cheerful, and more into a routein at home. Look after your selves, Lots of love Sara xxxxxxxx -

Hi All, Tracy you look fabulous, and your so pretty, like everyone else said 'strut your stuff' at the end of the day its your family, and they love you! Judy are you ok? The accident sounded painful, it is a good idea to wear head protection, hope your not too bruised. Tracy, I am pleased to be back with the 'violets crew' this keeps us focused, and its so nice to share our ups and downs in life with everyone on here. You know, April seems like an eternity ago now, doesnt it? Since we all had our bands.......its funny, I remember our trepidation/excitement etc prior to banding, and now were all like 'old timers' getting to grips with what our own personal goals are, how tight our bands need to be and adjustments. I've been lucky, the last time I had problems re slimming/ getting food stuck was weeks ago in Mexico, but touch wood, I havent had any problems since. I've been eating off of a tea (size of your hand) sized plate now, and I dont feel deprived, but its enought. (Long may that last!) Have a great day everyone, Love Sara xxxxxxxx -

Congratulations Judy!! We'll all be saying Ay Ay Captin! and nodding at you Terry, its so nice to be back on here again, I did miss you guys too :tea: Well tonight we all went down to my mum n dads as it was his birthday, I had NO alcohol ...its been a week tomorrow since I cut it out, its weird not drinking, at first I thought, oww I wish I could have a drink, but as the night wore on, it was ok, this is the third social occassion in the past week I havent had a drink going out. I guess as time goes on, it will get easier and easier I hope (I sound like an alcoholic, lol!) but its strange though going totally tee total when everyone else drinks wine etc at celebration events. Got to go back to my own Dr tomorrow and let her know how Im doing on the 'chill pills' (she said no alcohol for 6 months while Im on them).....so far so good...but its only been a week nearly!! Ta ta for now, Love sara xxxxxxx -

Morning All! Did a workout today...finally! Lucy my eldest showed me some stretch exercises too, which was good. Judy, ...wow it sounds like you have an admirer in the singing group!! Wooohooo! Kat, I know what you mean about your inlaws, the other thing it could be dare I say it (as my inlaws are 80 & 86) it may be a bit of dementure, because Im sure my father-outlaw has it, one minute hes real angry and practically abusive, and the next he's meek and mild? It's so delicate 'families' I dont know what the answer is apart from say to them your son needs a break and you need his help and see how they get on? My heart goes out to you, as only a week or so ago, I had such stress from my outlaws, it made me ill, please dont let it upset you, I think looking back, I should have been firmer and more direct, (I hate hurting peoples feelings though, but it ends up hurting my feelings instead!) maybe thats an option, saying it as it is, and see what the consequences are, or having a big heart to heart with her and tell her your upset and why? Good luck with it though Ta Ta for now, Sara xxxxxx -

Evening All Kat I'm real sorry to hear of your concerns about the children, there was a lot of rivalry between my two (3yrs gap) when they were little, the eldest was jealous of the younger one, now they are best of friends! It's a tricky one, I can only think if distraction doesnt work, is sit down with her and talk to her gentally, youve probably tried that though.... Terry...wow....you loser you!! :whoo:in a fantastic way!! in the 180's....CONGRATULATIONS!! Tracy I hope you have a lovely holiday....you off to the beach somewhere? Laura...re fills, it takes a while for my Dr to find the port, I have to lie on a pillow and arch my back, it is weird though on the amounts, I had 6mls in last time I went, (which didnt give me a restriction) he pulled the Fluid out and there was only 5mls, so I know what you mean re confusion? I now have 7.5mls in and it works!! Yaaaaa!! Judy, I hope you get a restriction at your next fill, its weird you do notice that your just not hungry? I know its now working I got on the scales today, and for the first time in a long time Ive lost a few lbs, so I'll weigh on Saturday for the total amount lost after a restriction. The Dr phoned me this evening to see if the fill was working (otherwise I was going to have to go back on Saturday) and I said it was, I asked him when I should go back again, but he said to see how it goes, Id heard somewhere that every 3 stone (42lbs) I may need a fill, so in a weird way Im looking forward to that next goal! Ok, I'm going to do some exercise tomorrow......:faint: Lots of love Sara xxxxxxxx -

Hi All, Im actually typing this from work, so Im nervously looking over my shoulder make sure no ones gonna catch me out!! :eyebrows: Judy, Kat, Tracy and Terry, thanks for the encouraging words re Dave and my outlaws, Ive actually felt a lot calmer since theyve gone, or either the chill pills have kicked in I'm not sure? Well, its really weird having a restriction isnt it, I mean you just dont want to eat after 8 or so mouthfuls. To tell you the truth I was a bit worried my band wasnt ever going to work, but now I know how much fliud I need in it (7.5mls) to make it work Im so relived. Terry...wow....knock em dead honey you have lost loads of weight, and boy does it show in the pics, youve really toned up heaps!! :clap2: So have you Tracy, your face is so slim now, wow !!!!!!!! I am so much more motivated again now, keep up the fantastic weight loss guys, we rock! Lots of love Sara xxxxxxx -

Dear All, It feels like an age since I was last on here. Well Davids parents have now gone, thankfully. Your right Terri, I had to bite my tounge a lot whist they were here, his dad said some pretty hurtful things, and I ended up waiting on them hand and foot. Its sad really as I dont know what Ive done, but I've made up my mind now, not to go up to his parents home again, it gets me so stressed out. I went to see my Dr this week, and shes prescribed me some 'chill' pills, I probably needed them even before the holiday as I was pretty stressed then! Hopefully I'll soon feel like my normal self again. I'm not allowed any alcohol either on these pills, so thats a good thing for my diet too! Well, on Saturday I went to see the gastric consultant, and the dietician, luckily Ive only put on 1/2 pound in weight, my muscle % has gone down too (only to be expected as I havent been exercising) he's put in 7.5mls into my band now, and he said he'd phone me on Wednesday to see if I have a restriction. OH MY GOD I HAVE A RESTRICTION NOW!!!!! :whoo:Finally....... Dave's doing ok, we saw the orthopedic/spinal consultant on Tuesday and he was really positive, were hoping he can get back to his old job by January/February 08. He's still on pain killers, but he's doing a lot more now, and the physio has told him to walk a mile walk every day, and he's really positive. Laura what lovely pics, and what a wonderful cake...CONGRATULATIONS! Lunasa, gosh look after yourself, I hope life gets better for you xx Take care all, Lots of love Sara xxxxxxxxxxxx -

Dear All, :help:I have the outlaws staying now...... Daves quite cherful, were still waiting to see a specialist consultant though. I'm off work till Thursday, and Daves parents are staying till Thursday too. They are pretty elderly.....the first thing his dad said to me was...'Well, you havent lost much weight have you! :angry....I turned around and said, weight is the last thing on my mind during this time! Give me strenght to get through this week.... Kat, CONGRATULATIONS on your 100lb weight loss, that is fantastic news! Thank you for your prayers too. xx GR8, thank you for your prayers and kind words too. xx Well this morning I phoned the Drs secretary and dietician and left a message, I need another fill, I was supposed to go in on the 21st of July, but I was still in Mexico. I think the next fill should do it, I cant remember how much is in my band now, I think its 6.5mls. To be honest its a good job I didnt have full restriction when we went away, as stress tightens it more anyway. Pam, your home looks lovely! I'm hoping to be able to posts some pics on here, but the last few times I tried it didnt load? Lots of love Sara xxxxxxxxx -

Dear Terri, Pam, Jennifur & Tracy, Thank you all for your kind messages and prayers. David can walk, thank god, infact its more comfortable for him to stand or lie down than sit down. The pain isnt too bad now, but hes got loads of meds if it does flare up bad. His profession is a chartered surveyor, and in he has to go up lots of ladders, roofs etc, he would be the guy if you wanted to buy a house and get a loan off a bank etc, he'd go in and survey a house etc, its a lot of bending etc.....so we'll see what the UK Dr says, but he's prepeared now to have to do something else if the answer is no..... Ive taken more time off, but Im going back to work next Thursday, Lucy & Sophie are at home, and mum n Dad live down the feild from us, and my brother and cousins live a few miles away, so we've got a great network of family helping out! To be totally honest though, its made me feel I just want to be at home though, my work lifestyle isnt great, so its something I'll have to sort out pretty soon, as I dont want to be away from home anymore, but something will turn up Im sure . I'll keep you posted, I know I need to sort out the band (as no restriction) but for the next few weeks, I'll leave be until things are more in a pattern here. Take care, Love sara xxxxxxx -

Dear All, My goodness its taken me an age to log onto this site and change my password! I last spoke to you about a month ago, and said I was going to Mexico for my holidays....well a month later I have literally returned from Mexico. David and Sophie (my youngest) did a canopy trip (Puterto vallatra) I didnt go, as I dont like heights. David had an accident and smashed his back on a rock, he was given a wrong rope. 4 weeks later, and a 26hrs journey back home in 2 airoplanes, 3 ambulances we got back home on Tuesday evening, my eldests daughters 20th birthday. It feels sereal, telling you this, its like a dream, and it hasnt really happened, if that makes sence? He isnt paralysed thank god, they did emergency surgery on his L1/T3 and put 2 plates and bolts in his upper back, his coxccix is broke and he can only sit for 1.5hrs. He in a upper body cage, hes ok, and is really positive. The Mexican consultant was fantastic, all of the staff were, he was sent to a hospital in Putro Vallatra called the Ameri Med, who were just brilliant. He told David he wouldnt be able to continue his profession, but were hoping when he sees an UK Dr it might not be so bad. But if not, its ok, he can retrain, or try a new profession. Everyones been wonderful. My diet/band isnt great, I havent got on the scales, Im sure Ive put weight on, living in a hotel for a month with 5 themed resturants and 2 big massive normal resurants, and unlimted drink! I dont care to be honest though, I'll go and get help (fill) again soon. I thought I'd let you know I'm back, Mexico was lovely the people were lovely, but my life has changed drastically now, my whole future.....my family are just bricks, and I love them so much, so I'm blessed. Take care all, All my love Sara xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx P.S Just seen your post Kity, bless you xxxxxxxxxx Trying to add 2 pics, one of dave on his birthday prior the accident, and one of Sophie my angel xxxxxxxx (Daves in the strectcher!!!!!) -

Hi All, Judy - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! I hope you had a wonderful day, and Im pleased the wedding went well, I thought your pics are gorgeous, and your gardens looks lovely......and the charm youve got is gorgeous too! Terrie - you look stunning! Youve got a different hair style too which really suits you. Pam - lol, I thought the pic of the dog was cute. Good for you too re exercising...I know I really need to get back into the habit of doing exercise again. Laura - let us know how the house move goes, you must be so excited now!! mdari - I can relate to how you were feeling a few posts back (feeling low/failing) as I was in the same boat not so long ago. We'll get there in the end! Well folks, after being away practically all week on conference I was pleased to get home on Friday! I only had 1 incidence at the stand in the conference when I choked on some salmon (I ate it too fast, it blocked, I kept eating...usual story...luckily I had a servette, as my salavia glands worked over time, I tried to be as descreate as possible though!). Im a bit down with work to be honest, I'm looking forward to my holiday, we go on Thursday night and fly Friday am off to Mexico (purta Platta airport or something like that?) were staying at an all inclisive place, so Ill eat healthily salads and meat etc. Give me time to think too about life/work etc. Well its been a week since I had my fill...I now have 6 mls in my band (its a 10ml band), it is a bit more restrictive than before, but I can still eat more than the size of my fist (I was told that that is how big my stomach is and I should only eat that much) so I phoned the Drs secretary as I was asked too, and Im going back in on the 21st of July to see the dietician, and I may get another fill to get to the right 'spot'. Take care everyone, Love Sara xx -

Hi All, Well 6 days post 2nd fill(s) I do have a slightly better restriction, I can still eat more than the desired amount (size of your fist so Im told) but I am being careful. I think I am going to need a bit more to be honest, but I am off on holiday next Friday for 2 weeks, and after speaking to the consultants secretary today, we both felt it would be wise to wait until I get back (mid July) and phone her then to see how I am restriction wise. I reckon, I need 05ml-1ml more, which would take me up to 6.5 or 7mls. Sackaction-wow you sound like youve definately got restriction, the last time I had that was after surgery, I would have thought in time it slackens up, as the internal fat around the stomach decreases, but Id check with your doctor and see what he thinks, if thats normal, as I havent ever got to that stage yet. Intrestingly I had an e-mail from someone that had a band put in exactly a year before me, and she said that every 18lbs or so she needed a fill to get the restriction again.....so I guess we'll have to see? But Id definately check with your doc to see if its normal re the amount of food you can eat. Take care all, Sara -

Morning All Well Ive been good since Saturday (since seeing the Dr) and Ive actually dropped 2lbs, that my friends is the first time in 5 weeks! So Im pleased. I think banning all alcohol from the house, and not picking in between meals has helped! Teach - I hear ya about e-bay, even after 1 day of bidding, I felt it was addictive, you can be mesmerised by it. But Ive got my 3 charms, so I'll have to work for those re getting the weight off before I can say they are earned! Terri - great to see you again, and thank you for the welcome back! I really did miss you all, and without this support group, well I dont have any support basically. You are all a life line with this, and no body understands what were going through, and understanding having a band, I seriously think, people think that if you have a band, you dont have to do anything else....how wrong they are!! lol...... I'm off up to London today, Im not back till Friday evening, Im at a conference. Im going to stick to meat/salad or veg....and not drink any alcohol...I find these situations so hard though :phanvan Speak to you all again Friday night hopefully, and fingers crossed I wont have slipped up..... Take care Sara xx -

Morning all!! Thanks for the welcome back Jenn Thanks for the e-bay tip too Laura, Lucy, my daughter helped me bid on 2 charms (to put away till I lose 14lbs) and we got them we bid on one other too, but wont find out if we one it till tonight. Its a bit addictive isnt it! My family were groaning when I started to check it every 5 mins!! lol... After reading some of the theards (I havent looked too far back) I realised some of you are finding it hard too (restrictions, food etc) so I guess Im not alone, its sticking to a diet....its not easy is it. Yesterday we all went down to mums for fathers day, she did a roast beef dinner, I can still eat a fair bit (not as much as I used too though) even with 6mls in my band, I didnt have a pudding, but I did have 2 glasses of wine (Dave and I decided to put the booze away in our house now, as it just isnt helping me lose weight, and when I have a stressful day it was too easy to slip back into old habits and have a couple of glasses with dinner). In fact I got a bit told off about that by my Dr, he said I must not drink for 30 mins until after dinner (I was only having a few sips after my meal (not with it) but he told me it was a no no, so Im adhearing too it. I'm not sure if the 2ml extra in my band has made a real difference.....I have to phone back the secretary on Wed, I may have to go back next Saturday again for another fill, I'll see how it goes Have a lovely Holiday Tracy!! Take care all, Sara xx -

Dear All, Aw thank you Pam and Kat. I promise your gonna see a lot more posts from me, I need the groups support more than ever to keep me on track I must admit, without you guys I just didnt keep focused at all, I even gave up on keeping a food diary the lot....still, its a fresh start as of yesterday, and after having 4 injections (2 locals, and 2 fills 30 mins in succesion) from the doctor, and the dietician telling me my muscle % had gone down....I need all the focus and support I can get! Changing the subject, my friend told me about e-bay, shes an addict, anyway I checked out the jewlery section, and looked up links of London (where I my charm bracelet is from & charms) well blow me down with a feather, I can get charms for 1/4 of the price on there! So Im going to keep my eye out on them on e-bay, I may order one (as I am a bit sceptical that it may not be genuin) see what its like, and get a jewller to see that it is silver etc as it says, because for £8 instead of £40-50 is a big difference dont you think? Thought Id share that with you to look for cheaper charms or beads (like the angel one that teach got). It feels real good to be back Love Sara xx -
