What To Expect On My First Lap Band Fill

You are still healing so you shoud probably hold off on the fill. From what I read on here the time between surgery and the first fill is pretty tough. Hang in there and just keep following the plan. Don't be surprised if you don't lose any weight for a while. Just keep faith in the process.

What To Expect On My First Lap Band Fill

I had my first fill yesterday afternoon. It did take a bit longer than norm to find my port because it was facing down slightly. I would say it was more uncomfortable than painful. My PA says this happens but not the norm. She also told me that I may not feel any of the effects for about 2 weeks. Apparently there is not anything to back up the reason for the 2 weeks other than that is what many patients have experienced. Most of the visit was spent talking and the fill was just a few minutes including the extra searching she had to do. The PA I work with is great about answering questions and just sharing info. I usually have my mental list of questions before I go in and she does not rush through the visit at all. Most importantly she stresses that this is my personal experience with the band and that getting info from others experience is helpful but to listen to my own body. As far as how I felt after the fill. Last night I ate lentils and had some Water later in the evening. That all felt normal. I am having my first cup of coffee now and with ever drink I pause to make sure I don’t feel any different. (My personal worries setting in) - it all seems fine. I will eat soft food today and back to my new normal eating habits tomorrow. I seems like we are very close in the process, feel free to friend request me if you like. Good luck

    Sept 2011 bandsters

I was feeling the same way till I had a nice talk with myself. I decided to focus on small stuff like making sure I was getting enough water each day and protein. I also increased my calories a bit. So far so good I lost 2 lbs sence my little talk. It's only 2lbs but it's progress and that makes me happy. Keep your head up.

    C02 Pains!!!!!

I was the same as you at day 3. Mess made me sick so I stopped taking them ans by day 5 or 6 I felt so much better. You will make it.
  11. I was banded 9/26 and lost 13 in the first two weeks and nothing in week 3. I kinda feel the same way as you. I'm trying to focus on eating well and not the weight loss number. But it's not easy...
  12. I am also at week 3. I was told to start trying to add meats cooked in sauce or soft meats in weeks 3 and4. (and was specifically told to try chicken, fish, ground beef, and cold cuts). Also in week 2 and 3 to add soft cheese and cooked veggies. For weeks 5 and 6 I was told to try all meats cooked normally but chew very well. I was also told to make sure I try bread. She basically told me to experiment but make sure to chew well and not to over eat. That's the part I'm struggling with, figuring out when I'm full. I figure it's only week three and I have a lifetime to get it right
  13. I'm at week three as well and was wondering the same thing.

    Hernia pain

I had my surgery on 9/26 and also had a hiatal hernia repair. I experienced similar pains and I believe it's normal. It has since pretty much all went away. Hang in there!
