    Night Eating Syndrome?

Yes, Icon, urge the snack at night still occurs post surgery. This happens to me almost every night. I usually eat 1/2 cup of Special K, crushed ice, a FiberOne bar, or raw veggies if I have them. Like you said, you just have to keep healthy snacks on hand.

28 And Mom To 17 Month Old

When I got sleeved, I was 28, and my son was 17 months old. How funny is that? LOL. The night before surgery I let him sleep in my bed and squeezed him tight the whole night. On the way to the hospital, I cried and told my husband that he'd better raise him right, tell him everyday how much I loved both of them, and told him that I'd recorded videos on my phone for both of them. NeedIess to say I over reacted. Since surgery I have more energy to roll around on the floor with him, run around in the park (instead of just sitting and watching him play), and jump on the trampoline. I was always a great mom, but now I'm an awesome mom! You won't only be doing this for you, you will be doing this for your babies! They need and want an active mommy in their lives.

    My Strange Side Affect

I had really weird, vivid dreams maybe the first week. I was so freaked out I didn't want to sleep. Cant remember any of the dreams in detail, thank goodness! My surgeon said it was a side effect of the anesthesia and pain meds, which I stopped taking immediately after our conversation.
  4. SoS, everyone on this site needs to see this post. THANK YOU for this. I think I MIGHT have done 500 Cal/day my first week post op. 500 cal made me sad, mean, weak, and just miserable. It's inhumane!! LOL! You're stunning just the way you are...curvy and happy. #TeamIDontNeedToBeSkinny!!

I Don't Know If It Is Normal

I couldn't drink cold water the first week; only room temp. Like Amazon said, try warm teas or room temp water.

    It Feels Amazing!

It's amazing that... 1. I have lost 4 lbs while in maintenance. 2. I can get up off of the floor without using my hands. 3. My hubby can pick me up with ease during sex. 4. I only ate 5 pieces of my son's Halloween candy. 5. I don't NEED to eat junk and crap just because its there. I feel liberated!!
  11. Perfectly stated IggyChic. What you choose to do is up to you and only you will have to live with it. Just make sure it's YOUR decision, not one influenced by other people...whether it's on this site or in your life. Let it sink in for a couple of days and let that initial shock wear off first. Good luck Honey.

  16. As you know, this choice is for you to make. Your friend, although she loves and adores you, has no idea what it's like to be overweight for most of her life. So if going to TJ is easier your pocket, you have done your research, and you are comfortable with the surgeon you have chosen, I say GO FOR IT. Search the forums to see if you can find a sleeve buddy. Someone who will be going to TJ when you are going and has the same surgeon. Build up a rapport with your buddy, that way you won't feel alone. I know this sounds scary, and no, I haven't done it, but it's just a suggestion. Who wants to spend another year stuck in a body that makes them totally unhappy? Do what you have to do for YOU!
  17. Try working out on the exercise bike or take a spinning class. Easy on the knees, big on the cardio.

Waiting For My Surgery Date! I Think Im Gonna Go Crazy! Lol

Make sure you request a date before the end of the year because most surgeons take extended vacations during the holidays. I was approved on Oct 3rd (I think) and initially, they scheduled my date for Jan 10th due to the holidays. I said, uh uhh...get me in there tomorrow if you can. LOL! I couldn't bear the thought of having to wait additional 3 months. So they scheduled me for Oct 17th at 7am (the surgeon usually starts @9). Just a something for you to think about.
  19. Happy Surgery Day!! Praying for your speedy and comfortable recovery.

  20. Prayers went up for you Sis! Hope you're doing well.

  21. I guess my body isn't finished losing weight. I can't say I'm mad about that. :)

    Post Surgery Bra

They are my "around the house" and workout bras. When I go out I need an underwire LOL! They are pretty good for that purpose and go back to the original shape once they are washed.

    Post Surgery Bra

I was a 42G and bought the 1X size. Now that I am a 34DD, I bought the Medium Geniebra to sleep in.

    Post Surgery Bra

I wore the GenieBra after surgery. They are really comfortable and cheap. 2 for $19.99 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
