I guess this is a question for my dr...I have no idea which band I'm getting! Are there different ones aval in the US?

So, I wasn't told to go on any sort of diet before hand. Any thoughts on me going on a diet anyway? I've thought about doing the first two weeks of the South Beach diet because I've done that a few times, it's just high protein, but I don't know if I should do anything since my doctor didn't tell me to? I keep going back and forth trying to decide, AUGH!

So I haven't been banded yet, will be on March 2nd...but I just had a weird thought. Right now I'm sick and ew I bet I'd have to sip my Dayquil. BLEGH! :mad:

Hi, can I be on your list? My surgery is March 2nd. Not sure what time, I think they are sending me some sort of packet with times for everything. I have to go on Feb 21st for psych eval, meet with the nutritionist and also the dr. I don't think he's going to put me on any kind of pre-op diet though. From talking to some of his other patients I don't guess he does that. I'm still gonna ask him about it though. I want everything to go perfectly!

So my date is set for March 2nd. I'm pretty excited now! A weird question that I haven't seen anyone talk about...how much can you feel the band? Inside and outside? Well I guess the port is what you'd feel from the outside, but can you? ....and the band itself on your stomach...I can just imagine having this tight feeling all the time, so please fill me in on all the details.

No tight squeezing feeling around my stomach...good to know! Feeling the port seems kinda strange...you can't see a bump can you? Just feel it if you're poking around that area? :rose:

I want to ride horses. I went to a place a couple years ago and it said weight limit on the horses was 180. It made me sad, I used to go to horseback riding camp every summer when I was little.

I saw one other thread about loose skin, but only one reply to it, so I would like to ask about it to see if more people will reply. I'm scheduling my surgery this morning, it will probably be on the 16th. My surgeon told me that because I'm still young that I shouldn't have any problems with loose skin. Yah, I'm 29 and I guess it's young, but I don't feel like it's young enough to not have to worry about it. Anyone about my age that's already lost a lot? Or anyone else want to share on this topic? Is it weird that I'm worried about this? Maybe it's because I'm 29 and still vain. ANYWAY....OH, plus I have strech marks on my stomach, have never had any babies though...strech marks are ugly, I want them gone. I guess that's all for now. Thanks!

Thanks, I'm def still getting banded, but I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that I'll be one of the lucky ones, but with my luck, I wont be. I bet plastic surgery is REEEEALLY expensive.
