Yes. Exactly! That's the important part.

What my surgeon explained to me (this question was in my long list of questions) was that saying our stomach sleeve won't stretch isn't entirely accurate. According to him, your sleeve can stretch but only after long periods of constantly overeating your stomach. He said it isn't something that happens with a couple or even many random/sporadic meals larger than you should eat, but instead meal after meal for a length of time. Basically, just as we stretched our regular stomachs out overeating over time, the same can be done with the sleeve. (Also similar to RNY patients who stretch their pouch....but that stretching can happen a bit easier for them because of where their pouch is.) He said that the sleeved stomach initially makes overeating so uncomfortable that most patients won't need to worry about overeating regularly...but it will be something interesting to watch once 10+ year data is available on the VSG.

Such an inspiring transformation. I just love that you are at goal and look strong and shapely! I am going to need to use exercise to sculpt some curves LOL -

Hi everyone!! I would love a buddy (or 5 LOL) to help get through this journey. I am pre-op, tentatively getting sleeved in July/August. I'm in the Chicago area, am in my early thirties, married with two children. My friends say I'm pretty funny and I consider myself a great listener. I'd love someone local, but I'm at a computer all day and live on my phone so that's not a big deal. We can totally text, email, etc. If possible, I'd love for the person to have lost or need to lose 150+ pounds just because I'd like them to relate on that level. If you're just starting off, great! We can motivate each other! :-) Thanks!

"there Is Not A Downside To Weight Loss Through Bariatric Surgery,"
BKMama replied to nabird77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Interesting article, thanks for posting! I've been worried that the rush of hormones post-op would make my already moderate acne worse, but hadn't considered that increased hormones may be causing it to begin with. I'd be happy with no period though, this baby factory is closed for business! LOL -
Easy recovery vibes to you! You're officially on the "other side" now. :-)

I like watching the biggest loser because I love seeing the transformations from the start of the season until the end...but your right it isn't very realistic at all. They exercise for hours every day and can only eat the food provided for them on the ranch. I'd love to have that large sum of money as incentive though! LOL The celebrity weight loss ads that annoy me the most right now are the Janet Jackson ones. You really want me to believe that someone who has millions at her disposal is eating nasty freeze dried food in a box?! Not to mention we've seen Janet lose that same weight before using a chef and trainer. Gimme a break.
