My story is not any different than most...I was tired of being sick and tired and I needed a change. I tried diet and exercise but obviously, I needed help. With four high blood pressure pills, high cholesterol, arthritis in my right hip and both knees and bordering on diabetes at the ripe age of 45, I decided to take drastic measures.

January 2010 I began my process. I researched doctors in my area and found Dr. Barry Greene. In May 2010, I was initially denied approval by my health insurance company, Aetna. In June 2010, I wrote my appeal and I was approved. My new life begin August, 2010.

And without any complications, I was within 10 pounds of my goal weight within 5 months. It has not been and easy road. It took time for my head and emotions to catch up to my physical transformation. And on occasion, I still struggle with what I call my "fat girl tendencies." But the final outcome was well worth the effort.

I feel as if I have been reborn and I have a fresh start and clean plate, no pun intended, to begin living my life to the fullest!!
