    Six months today

Susieq, It sounds like your from the New Orleans area and so am I! Where are you from in New Orleans. I would love to find out more about your weight loss since you are doing so wonderfully. I just got sleeved on 3/3 so I am just starting on my journey. I would love to hear about your experiences. Congratulations on all your NSV's. I can't wait to experience them myself. I look forward to hearing from you and continued success. You can add me as a friend and send me a private response if you would like. Have a great day!
  2. Hey Kim, It's your march sleeve buddy. I'm all sleeved and already 5 days post op. I can't believe how time flies. I am like you and have been doing well and not really had any pain except at night I have had some hip and back pain but when i get up, I don't even feel it. I am alos surprised at how much water and protein shakes i can get in. I guess that will change as we move to more solid foods and I can't wait for that! I just wanted to let you know that I was doing well and have yet to get on the scale. I told myself that I would not do that until my two week check up so I wouldn't stress over it. I will keep in touch and hope that you do the same!

    Going to Disney before Surgery

Disneyworld is very ride friendly to people our size, or should I say, people our size for right now! I love Disneyworld and at 303 lbs.(the weight I was the last time I went) I could ride all the rides comfortably. The only ride that I find a little difficult is Space Mountain. It's not that I didn't fit in the seat but I have bad knees and it was hard getting up from the seated position of the car. Do yourself a favor too if you go, go on Rockin' Roller Coaster. It is an awesome roller coaster and the bar comes down over your head and locks that way so you don't have to worry about another belt. You will have so much fun. Also, the tower of terror has a seat belt but like I said before Disney is one of the only companies I know of that tries to accomodate all of its guest and all the seat belts had enough for me to buckle! The only thing to watch out for in Disney is all the good treats they have. That could be trouble! LOL!. Go and have a good time! Can't wait to hear how you enjoyed your trip!
  4. That's awesome. I"m only 5 days post op and hope to be as successful as you have been! What kind of things are you eating? Do you work out? I would just love to know because that is amazing. Congratulations again on the results!

Thanks so much for all the helpful info. It's 15 minutes until I have to stop drinking liquids. I think I may have another popsicle, lol! Wish me luck and I'll talk to you soon from the loser's bench!

    sleeved on Monday

Hey Kim, It's your other March (even though you were 2/28) sleeve buddy. I go in tomorrow and I'm so glad to see that you are doing well and that everything turned out fine. How is the pain level? Are you able to get around and walk? Does your new tummy feel weird? It's so funny knowing that a few days ago when I talked to you, you were unsleeved and now you are sleeved. I'm so happy for you and that your journey has begun. I swore to myself that I would not weigh myself until two weeks out, we will see how that goes. I go in tomorrow at 6:30am, so wish me luck and I'm sure I'll talk to you after then. I can't wait for us both to be on the loser's bench! Keeping you in my prayers!

    Emotions

If your on mushie stage, you can always get pinto's n cheese from taco bell. You have ot remember that alot of the restaurants that we always go to, we can still go to but we have to make smarter choices. I have not had my surgery but I have had fun going through menus online and finding out nutritional facts and figuring out what I can have. It is a great realization of how fattening everything is. You will be surpised how low fat pintos n cheese is from Taco Bell and you probably wont eat all of it anyway and the beans and cheese are full of protein! You just have to start being creative!
  8. I know your probably at the hospital today but just wanted to let you know that prayers are being sent your way and hope to hear from you soon on how your recovery is going! Good luck!

  9. Wow, that's amazing. You are truly an inspiration. I am having my surgery on Thursday and am starting off around the same weight as you did. I hope to be as successful as you are! What is your secret? How much do you work out? What kind of things do you eat? I am so curious because I feel that I am going to be the only person that does this and loses like 5lbs a month, lol. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciate and congratulations on your loss. Again, it is truly amazing!
  10. As having only one older sister myself, I know how important the relationship is with a sister. I believe instead of emails, you need to call her on the phone and ask her what her issues are with you having the surgery. If you are like me, whenever anyone asks me why I'm having the surgery, I break down and cry because of all the emotions I have about doing this. I believe if you sit and talk with her as adults, she will understand this better. Ask her if she knows everything about the surgery. Give her all the knowledge she needs and explain to her that this is not a miracle surgery that you are having because you just doin't want to diet again but rather this surgery is just a tool to help you lose and to help you maintain your health in the future. I, myself have finally admitted to my family that I am a food addict. It may sound silly but it's true. When they heard me admit to this, they realized that the situation was more serious than expected and I explained that this tool will help me control that addiction. It is not an easy out, it is anything but that. I believe if you are just straightfoward with her and explain it this way, then she will understand better. I hope this helps, I know how important a sister is. If she still does not understand, go ahead with the surgery and she will soon realize how wonderful this surgery was for you and see why you went ahead with it! Please message me if you ever need to talk and good luck on your journey!
  11. That's awesome! Can't wait to fit into my smaller clothes. Keep up the good work!
  12. Girl, don't you dare, lol! If I'm on the pre-op diet, you are too! Happy Anniversary though! You can each have a protein shake in a wine glass and change it up a little, hehe!

Congratulations! I am getting sleeved on 3/3 and not look forward to the first two weeks! Keep thinking postive and don't mention the stall. You will be just fine! Keep us posted!

Who is that cranky woman?? Oh wait! It's ME!!

I am on day 6 of my two week pre-op and I, like yourself, was about to send heads rolling if I didn't get some bread of rice but as of today, I am so over them. I didn't believe people when they said it gets better but it totally does! My Protein shakes have been filling me up and I've learned to love my sugar free popsicles and jello! It's also amazing that I am already starting to physically feel better. I have more energy and feel like I can move better and not in so much pain. I know this may be a mental thing but I still enjoy it. Keep up the good work! Keep us posted of your progress and congratulations on deciding to start this journey to a new life. WE CAN DO THIS!!!! Sleeve date is 3/3!
  15. Hello from your fellow March sleeve buddy! Keep in touch and let me know of your progress! WE CAN DO THIS!

  16. Hi Mindy, I feel that you have just rewritten my story all over and that you practically were copying my life down in your post. I, also 33, am married to a wonderful husband and loves me just the way I am, but I don't love the way I am. I have an older sister who is a size 2 and I have been big since I was in Kindergarten. I have never been able to shop in more than two stores...the two plus size ones. I, like you, have written down my life's journey through the fighting of my weight, the trials and struggles almost identical to yours. I am getting sleeved on 3/3 and cannot wait to start my "real life". My goals are simple and all I want to do is experience the life that I should have been having for the past 33 years. My husband is a little scared at this because hopefully my energy level with be way up and he doesn't know if he will be able to keep up with me (even though he is smaller than me now). I hope that we can stay in touch since our surgeries will be so close together. If you need anything, please let me know. I look forward to seeing your progress, as well as my own. Please feel free to add me as a friend so that we can compare notes, lol. I hope to hear from you soon!

    ITS TOMMORROW!!!

You will do fantastic! We will keep you in our prayers and please let us know how you do! I am getting sleeved on 3/3 and i'm sure on 3/2, I will feel the same way as you, lol! Everything is going to be fine and you are on your way to a new life! Good luck! Keep us posted!
  18. Good luck with the broth tonigt. I'm sure yours is much better than the store bought one! Keep it up!

  19. Hi Joes, I started my two week pre op diet on Wed and have lost 7lbs so far. My diet is a little different from yours and I can have up to three protein shakes a day and then at night I can have a low fat, low carb, high protein meal. Then at two days before surgery it will be full liquids. The first few days were a nightmare and lots of stress and headaches but I can already feel my cravings going away and starting to even feel better! It will be all worth it in the end. I have surgery 3/3 in New Orleans. Stay in touch with your progress and good luck. You can do it!

    One week Pre-Op

Congratulations on your decision! I started my two week pre op diet on Wed. and have already lost 7lbs. I am already starting to feel better. The first day with liquids was very hard, that night I had the worst headache you could imagine and then the second day got a little better. By the third day, I would drink my protein drinks and some sugar free jello cups and I did just fine! It's funny now, just after this short time, I am already getting annoyed with the "eaters". My family and husband eat around me which is fine but just over the past few days, the sound of their chewing just gets to me, lol. I would love to see what you experience by day 5, lol! My surgery is March 3 and I have never been so ready. Please keep in touch, and add me as a friend because we will practically be going through the same things at the same times and if you need anything just let me know! I have alot more to lose then you do and I can't wait to be as small as you are now! Keep in touch and good luck on your surgery!

    2 Weeks Out!

I'M ON MARCH 3 TOO! WOOHOO. We can be sleeve buddies. If you ever need anyone to talk to, we will be in the same boat and going through the same things so feel free to message me anytime! I'm so super excited! Will be keeping you in my prayers as I hope you will do for me!

    March Role Call!!

    March 3rd here! Woot Woot!
  23. I have not started my two week pre op diet yet but went for my nutrition class and got the Chike protein shakes. I love the strawberry and vanilla and in 8oz. you get 28g of protein! If you can try those, you will gettting a significant amount of protein. Also, you can get shots of protein, while alone they taste very like cough syrup, if you had them to your water, they are not that bad. One shot can have up to 48g of protein in it. Add it a little at a time to your water throughout the day and again you will be getting alot extra!

    Bad Weekend!

I am the same way. My surgery is scheduled for March 3 and I have been eating anything and everything for the fear that I will never be able to eat it again but then as I'm putting it into my mouth, that is when I realize what got me to where I am today. The chips, candy and popcorn have gotten me to 304 lbs and swore to myself that I would never do this to myself again. I have found that when I get a craving, I stop before I grab for something and think "How will I feel after I eat this" and that usually does it. Just remember, " Nothing taste as good as skinny feels". Good luck on your journey.
  25. You really are an inspiration! I have been reading many of your post and you give me faith that I can do this. My surgery is on March 3! I'm nervous but at 32 and 304lbs., it's time. Thanks again for all your helpful insight that I have been reading and congratulations!
