Very Confused--Weight Up
MeMeMEEE replied to haragl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would not trust a public scale at a gym - most likely it isn't cared for or calibrated like it should be. I am sure your Dr's office wouldn't mind you stopping in to check on their scales. -
I am not actively trying to lose anymore, I am fine if I do, sure would love to see 112.5 which would be smack dab in the middle of a normal BMI for me but I'm not trying to get there. Just working on maintenance and getting in my calories and such, in as healthy a way as possible. I made it through Halloween with minimal candy eating. I don't forbid myself anything these days and I think that helped. If I want candy, I will have it no matter the day - but I find knowing that, I don't want it at all. I am looking forward to continuing to maintain. I will log my food daily and weigh daily as well, to keep myself on track. For exercise, I walk as everything else I lose interest in eventually. I reached both of my mini goals this last month, weighing a normal BMI fully dressed as well as weighing in at 121 which is half of me. No real info yet on the plastic surgeon consult - they have submtted to insurance and waiting to hear decision on that. Still enjoying my Weight Watchers meeting and the accountability it gives me each week. Started taking a mindful eating class through my program, it is kind of odd to go through it when at goal but I am learning a few things. I didn't wear my black dress yet - too cold, it might have to wait til next summer. Also, have you went to the bathroom lately? Are you getting your water in? These two things can mess with your weight. -
Wine! No Really...a Question For Serious Wine Drinkers :)
MeMeMEEE replied to iggychic's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I love me some wine! I didn't have any until abour 7 months out and by then everything was tasting pretty normal. Foods tasted way off and smells really got to me early out. I think your palate will come back! That said, I went out last weekend and was apparently drinking mine and my SIL's wine and got falling down drunk! UGH! I can't even think about wine now without getting a headache! -
What Can Cause A Leak?
MeMeMEEE replied to drexelgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought my chewable Biotin at walmart. Cherry - yum. Leaks can be caused by over eating, over exertion, etc. But they can also just happen! I had one, I followed every rule to a T, my dietician even told me I was being too strict with myself. Low and behold, the whole time I had a leak. My Dr said most likely it was there from the beginning (think a missed staple or something) but the swelling keeps it shut in the beginning. Left shoulder pain was my only sympton other than a super high ferritin level which they referred me on to a hematologist for (thinking lung cancer) and when he did the CT scan of my chest, they saw the abscess. The next day my Dr said he couldn't believe I wasn't sick - then bam, the day after I woke up with full blown pneumonia. -
Sharp Pains In Left Shoulder And Left Aide Of Tummy
MeMeMEEE replied to dee92's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please call your Dr! This was the ONLY symptom I truely had of my leak!! I chalked it up to healing for weeks! I didn't get sick from it til 9 weeks out - after they had discovered the abscess! -
My husband said he didn't approve but he would be supportive while I was losing. I had major complications in the end. He still gives me alot of greif about having a surgery that almost killed me. I personally would do it again. I don't know what more I could have done to help him approve, he absolutely refuses to go to any meetings or support groups with me. I spent about a month in the hospital and he came up 2 times during my last stay of 3 weeks.

If you want steered away from the bad, the revision forum is where to go! I also considered the ban in the beginning, after my orientation I decided NO WAY did I want that contraption in me! Took me 2 months of looking in to the sleeve to decide, but I am glad I did!

High Protein "snack" Ideas.... Lets Start A List To Refer To When We Need Ideas
MeMeMEEE replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
all great ideas and many I use nearly every day! -
This sounds about like me. However, that said, if I eat eat carby sort of things, they are mostly sliders and I can eat way more. I try to avoid these things or if I am going to have them, limit it. If I "think" I need more I will eat a Protein - instant restriction.

If it's skin, it's probably not going anywhere. I am 4'11'' also and at goal. I figure I won't be wearing any short shorts so no biggy!

Help - Maintenance And Going Back To Eating Carbs
MeMeMEEE posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anyone who is in maintenance - how long did it take for your body to get past the ups and downs of carb weight gain when you added them back in at maintenance? I am where I would like to maintain but as soon as I add in carbs, even staying well within my calories for maintenance I gain 3-4 lbs! I am sure this is a blip but it completely freaks me out and sends me straight back to a strict low carb diet. -
Help - Maintenance And Going Back To Eating Carbs
MeMeMEEE replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess my issue is my goal IS my normal BMI - as in, just inside the range. So any gain pushes me outside of it.I want to maintain HERE, not 3-7 lbs more, you know? I can't lose track of the number on the scale as that is how I gained all my weight + some after reaching goal on Weight Watchers. -
A few things I learned while looking at homes in FL - if it was built before 1995 (pre-Hurricane Andrew) insurance will cost you $3000-4000 a year, after is under $1000. Personally I would rather put money in to the home than insurance LOL Also, newer homes you have to be careful of Chinese Drywall - maybe missmachine can give more info on that, I am not completely familiar with that as it was discovered after we moved back to IL. Clearwater is the same, some good and some bad. My mom has a high school friend who has lived there for 30+ years. I am totally up for a meet up!
