    Antibiotics HELP!

Hope you feel better! Maybe this has been coming on and thats what has been causing your funk!
  2. Mostly I do bottled water (even filtering our tap water doesn't make it good). Sometimes I will use a 16 oz or 20 oz Tervis Tumbler if it is other than water, I love the lids and they are great to keep things cold/hot. Lifetime guarantee too!
  3. I use bjsbariatrics.com they are north of Indianapolis and I am in IL so I get my order in 2 days. Most of the vitamins are very closely priced, I haven't found a big difference at any specific place.

    Frustrated with United Healthcare

So glad to hear your happy ending!! Keep us posted on your date and surgery!!
  6. I didn't have a real mushie state - I went from full liquids to being able to have tuna, fish, canned chicken, crackers, cottage cheese, eggs, oatmeal, applesauce, etc. Which sort of sounds like mushie except no potatoes and no puree soups. I would love some wendy's pureed chili - I can have bean soup but not ground beef yet.

    Not eating enough?

I'm just 3 weeks out and I have a hard time eating - everything right now sits heavy - even the protein drinks are too sweet. I had a hard boiled egg this morning and it was so heavy, won't be doing that again. I just couldn't bring myself to eat the rest of the day. I know I need to. I got in less than 300 calories today and I know I need more.
  8. Not sure when you were sleeved - but I was told tylenol too. I couldn't tolerate the liquid so got permission to take the juniors chewable - 4 does it for me, still not a full adult does but I haven't needed to take more so far.
  9. How are you doing this week?

  10. My fatigue went away when I got real food haha! Not that I can eat much but I guess having the extra calories (more than 100 a day) make a difference. I am still weak, picking up and cleaning wears me out, but better. I go back to work Tuesday - not sure how ready I am for that yet! Whats you nausea deal? Don't know if I knew about that?

  11. well I've lost 2 more so I just have 2 left but so far they are hanging tight!
  12. I was told by co-workers that had RNY that the Dr bills as co-surgeon which should pay - however mine is showing assistant surgeon so I owe 1687.00. Which is fine I guess, can't do anything about it now. I am not sure when this changed but they do NOT pay for the assistant surgeon. I knew this going in (I work for them) but as I mentioned co-workers who have had the same Dr do RNY says he bills as co-surgeon. Not on VSG apparently.

BCBSIL does not pay for assistant surgeon

My Doctors do all surgeries as co-surgeons. For whatever reason they don't bill it that way. It is a recent coding change that a co-worker came across - there are "bits" on most codes and one co-worker noticed within the last few months it had changed for VSG. They still pay for a assistant surgeon on RNY but not VSG. I called my Dr's office and they had no idea. Of course BCBSIL changed in March from 3 to 6 months so many have been delayed in surgery and I know I was in the first wave of ones to finally get approved again. I am calling today to see how they billed - my RNY friends insisted theirs were all billed as co-surgeon and paid (different code used). I'm not mad at my Dr, this is a warning to everyone who has BCBSIL to check in to what your dr does.
  14. you are so close!! Hang in there!!
  15. yes hang in there - you are one up on me, I am a week further out than you and still on FLMA. The littlest things wipe me out, I am not even ready to go back next week when I have to.
  16. What is your dr's guidelines for right now? Your fluids are so important - make sure you get those in 64 oz minimum - you need that or will be dehydrated, whether you are thirsty or not. I haven't been doing much shakes myself, I don't have a set amount at this stage what I need to have so I have been trying to do what I can do. I find I have to set an alarm to remember to eat, vitamins. I just drink all day. I am one week further out than you.
  17. I have heard chips referred to as "sliders" meaning you can eat alot (my understanding). Now the bagel I have heard most people say bread bothers them! You already know you shouldn't be eating them, sounds like maybe it's time to clean out the cabinets of all foods not allowed - I just can't have it in the house or I want it.
  18. My surgeon told me if any sutures poked out just to cut it off.
  19. I am also a 20/22 I have one pair of 18's that fit (exciting!!!). I also have some 20's that are still too tight. I think the quality of clothes has a lot to do with sizing - the 20's that don't fit are Faded Glory from Wal-Mart, the 18's that do fit are a nice brand name from Bergner's. I read an article on these boards the other day where a woman mentions she normally wears anywhere from a 10 to 0. The 0 is from Chicos. Yes, let me tell you I will be having some of THOSE pants when I get small enough just so I can say "These are 0's"
  20. Lortab can stop you up. Check with your Dr but they gave me stool softners in the hospital, like Colace.

    8/25 and home

Thanks for checking! I bet that nurse will be listening more closely next time someone says they are feeling sick
  22. My instructions said one week after surgery so I haven't used it since.

    Im I the only one??

I was sleeved on a Monday and discharged on Thursday - my Dr requires that you get 64 oz fluid in within 24 hours before you can leave. It was really hard for me - he told me he finds sleeves have a slower start than bypass. Also if you live more than 30 mins away he will keep you an extra night. I think it is very common in my program that people stay for 3-4 nights.

    6 Month supervised diet

Yes this surgery is a major change to your lifestyle and they want to make sure you can commit!! If you stick through the 6 months you are probably committed!
  25. Dawn and HDub - I am 4'11'' so feel the short pain!! What sounds like a small amount to some is a very large amount at our height!
