New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
MeMeMEEE replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I use 2% too but water it down half milk/half water simply because we cannot have 2 gallons of milk in the fridge without wasting it. Using a spoon of instant decaf in my shakes got me through some tough times when I didn't like them. Also, beneprotein or nectar unflavored are both pretty mild - I put them in hot chocolate. Jay Robb is expensive but I find it at Kroger and I believe Whole Foods has it too. Again, it got me by and has a smoother taste than alot of others. -

I just want to drop in and say - I had a leak, I had complications, I was off work for 5 months total, had a feeding tube, etc, etc. But you know what? I am at goal now, I have been healthy (not even a COLD) since my leak healed, I feel WONDERFUL and YES I would do it again! My recovery wasn't easy, I spent a big chunk of time with everyone here telling me it would get better every day and it didn't - I kept thinking man, I am a WUSS. Well finally I had a bad lab test that showed, low and behold, a complication! I am a very positive person. I am so thankful for Tiffykins and some other ladies I know on FB groups who also had complications and encouraged me through it all, let me know I would get through it. I did and I LOVE MY SLEEVE! -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery

How are you doing? We were sleeved the same day. Do you track your food anywhere? I use myfitnesspal - I honestly think I will always have to track. -
Weight Goal Challenge For New Year's Day
MeMeMEEE replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok I swear I had already updated here somewhere but can't find it so here goes! Today I was 111.2. So well below my goal of 117. I haven't been doing well with walking or maybe I should say keeping track of how often I walk. It turned cold and I mostly walk around Walmart or run other errands and make extra laps around the stores. It's working for me so I am ok with that. -

Visiting my local urgent care
MeMeMEEE replied to kpaige77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure to tell the urgent care you feel dehydrated too and maybe they can get you some fluids. I hope it isn't surgery related. -
Questions for those who have had a leak....
MeMeMEEE replied to Biellita165's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I followed my diet to a T. My nutritionist told me i was being too strict with myself. They found mine at 11 weeks but my labs indicated it at 6 weeks. It was in the top of the sleeve which is a common place. My doctor said it wasn't anything i did. -
Leak Survivors - A Little Help!
MeMeMEEE replied to Lissa_S's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a year out from my leak now, had a feeding tube for 4 months and off work the whole time. A couple fistulas, abscess. Oh the joy. But it is a distant memory now. I am at goal - no way was I not going to get here after everything I went through! Sometimes I wonder if having RNY instead would have saved me all the complications - but they just have different ones at different times. -
Ticker - date goal reached - still unable to edit?
MeMeMEEE posted a topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I had complained about this a while back, when our outside tickers were taken away, and was told we would now be able to edit that date? I have tried twice since then, and still it says the date I update it. I am deleting it from my signature for now. Is there a timeframe when this will be fixed? -

Scaring the crap out of me!
MeMeMEEE replied to ThinnerTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A few things - are you on ANY meds?? If so, you need to make sure they are still needed - blood pressure meds/low blood pressure can do this to you. Also, make sure you eat around taking vitamins - mine make me sick even at 16 months out if I don't. How many calories are you getting in? Are you getting your fluids? -

Approval/denial DELAYS due to holiday?
MeMeMEEE replied to hurley911's topic in Insurance & Financing
Yes, it can have a delay affect - it's a time of year alot of people are on vacation as well as many people are submitting claims they have for the year. -
Ticker - date goal reached - still unable to edit?
MeMeMEEE replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
When you reach your goal it says "Goal reached __/__/__ but the thing is the date isn't able to be edited - so I met my goal on 8/20/12 but because I set up or change my ticker after that date it will say whatever date I change my ticker - so if I set it up today, it says Goal reached 12/13/12 - obviously not accurate. I assume the date isn't there until you reach goal. -
Well the holidays are in full swing! So far, so good here! Still small trickle losses but most days I do get my calories in for maintenance. I am still trying to keep my walking up but darn the cold weather. I do a lot of trips to Walmart to wonder around for exercise. Have been taking advantage of some of the nice weather we have had as well. Have a great holiday, everyone! Be safe and enjoy your loved ones! Date Goal Reached Is Not Correct On Vst Ticker
MeMeMEEE posted a topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I set up my VST ticker since the external ones have been taken away - and it adds that my goal was reached the day I made my ticker - I see no option to change the date or remove that but it is incorrect - I reached my goal 8/20/12. Also, I don't like the rounding of weight. -
you don't have to wait, I asked my NUT the same question. But you may feel full after, especially early out.
-
Well you aren't getting in alot of calories first off so that will make you weak. Are you getting plenty of protein and fluids? Also, be careful - you probably shouldn't be pushing something around so heavy, I was told not even to vacuum becasuse the push/pull is bad.
-
I would call your Dr and run it past them.
