  1. I am completely freaked out. I basically have been threatened with a feeding tube if I don't turn it around in 3 weeks. I can't do the protein shakes at all, the smell makes me nauseous and when i drink them my heart starts racing and my blood pressure shoots up. I am supposed to be getting 60-80 grams of protein and 800-1000 calories a day - I am getting 25 grams of protein and 200-300 calories a day. I have been told I can nibble all day on a protein bar or peanut butter if that helps and continue to drink. She wants me to still some how work in another 2-3 servings of unflavored protein plus get my calories up. I am just so stressed.
  2. Hi Mike - just to let you know we have started a weekly check in thread that is posted each Saturday in the August 2011 forum too - it's been going on for 2 weeks yesterday. I have lost almost 24 since surgery. I am really struggling with Protein as so far no shakes agree with me and I became lactose intolerant. I can't get in the calories I am supposed to either, I suppose that has to do with the shakes as well. I'll be 6 weeks out tomorrow.

    Sept 17th check in

Hi everyone! 4.6 loss for me this week weighing in at 189.6. I was basically told this week up my calories and Protein or get a feeding tube in 3 weeks so I am trying! It might require me nibbling on cheese sticks or Peanut Butter all day but somehow I will get there. Just so frustrating. I am happy with the weight loss but at what cost? Hope everyone else is doing great!
  4. Are you getting your protein in? How are your calories? Mine are both in the toliet and I am tired and I know that is why. Also, are you taking your vitamins? What sort of vitamins are you taking?

    seriously.....HELP!

Do you see your nutritionist? I am 5 weeks out and am in a very similar spot. I was just told if I don't turn it around in 3 weeks they willl put a feeding tube in. I can't do the shakes but she did give me some ideas - I have the ok for Protein bars, protein Jello (apparently at GNC), she told me I can nibble all day long on Protein Bar, cheese, yogurt, Peanut Butter and continue to drink if I need to. I know it's all against the rules but she told me I need to be doing anything I can.
  6. When I was on it years ago they called it a spend down - basically you have to spend that amount first before you have coverage that month. So it's sort of like a monthly deductible. If that happens to be the same thing.
  7. Bathroom scale Tanita brand - you may have to order online but I have 2 10+ years old that are completely accurate!!
  8. V8 splash can do it - also check your mix ins for your water - acid is not an ingredient you want!!
  9. I just posted a similar topic in the nutrition forum. I am to the point where very little tastes good and I struggle all day long.
  10. trying to decide whats for dinner - thinking chicken livers from KFC - has anyone tried these? Did they agree?
  11. I don't plan to do fried foods either but right now I am getting 200-300 calories a day and being threatened with a feeding tube if it doesn't turn around in 3 weeks. Believe it or not there isn't much breading on them and what there is I would brush off. I was considering a McD's chicken something, my daughter was at work there and it would have been so easy to text her and have her bring me one but chicken breasts don't sit well with me so far so I skipped it.
  12. There was a restaurant here that used to do that - they called it rumaki I think - YUM
  13. Let you in on a secret - IL TX NM and OK are all under Health Care Service Corporation so they would be similar med policies That is so awesome you got approved with weight watchers! I have always heard they wouldn't.
  14. Kelly I was thinking with some gravy - I agree they may be dry too but I was thinking a great source of protein.
  15. wendy's chili - trying to get the protein in!
  16. Yes and gizzards! But I am thinking those are too tough! I think I have given up - I am stuffed from lunch still.

    I NEED YOUR ADVICE!!!

I agree with telling at some point, November is a ways off so you have plenty of time to lead in to it. Regardless if the person is heavier or not, if they like a heavy woman then this could certainly change your relationship.
  18. I couldn't have. I went back at 4 weeks and have been exhausted. I am only getting in 100-300 calories a day and a shower wipes me out. Thankfully I work from home and have been able to nap and spend my days in pj's as needed. I am 5 weeks out now and still exhausted. Good luck!

    **OFFICIAL** Team Line Up!!

Hi Susie! Welcome!! It was the last update they did I believe that took away the edit option
  21. I am 5 weeks out today, getting in between 150-350 calories a day and exhausted all the time. I have a hard time taking time to eat because of the fact when I do I have a hard time meeting my liquids goal. I assume I am a lucky one who still has swelling in my sleeve. I can't drink the protein as it makes me sick (physically) and all of a sudden in the last few days my calcium is making me physically sick. I go this week to the Dr and nutritionist - even that has me exhausted thinking of it, a 30 min drive each way and having to actually get ready for my day early. I work from home and I can't get up and shower, that activity exhausts me also. I nap 2-3 times a day. When was your turning point? Seems like so many people say 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, seriously when will it get better?
  22. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks, one has come of and a second is partially off but the other 3 are holding strong. When did yours fall off?

    Would you sleeve again?

I'm 5 weeks out and on the fence. I don't know if I would. I have struggled with acid reflux (not warned how bad this could be!!), I am struggling with calories and fluids - this is an all consuming thing, I think about what and when to eat and how I will get my fluids in more than I ever did before. By the way, I did lose my hunger so that is a blessing. The protein shakes that were so simple before surgery make me sick now. Sure I love that I have lost nearly 20 lbs in 5 weeks but wow have I felt exhausted the whole time! I felt very prepared. I had no physical complications and feel blessed by that. Latest thing? My calcium has begun to make me sick - all 3 kinds I have an option to take now. No going back, someday I will be skinny which I like the idea of. But right now, today, I don't like the whole thing much.

    Is this normal?

My understanding is that you are still healing at that stage and the "full" signal may not be present. Follow your rules so you don't do damage!
  25. Amazing!! Thanks for sharing! You have done great!
