reflux, lapband, and Sertraline (zoloft) issues
LB304 replied to YankeesFan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMG I thought I was the only one too. I talked to my dr about it and they told me to break it in half and that didn't work so I got the liquid form. OMG that was the most horrific thing I have ever tasted in my life. So, I went back to the pills and I have been so bad lately about taking it. I usually take it every other day instead of ever day. Ok so I haven't had a chance to read all of your replies yet because I was so excited to hear I wasn't the only one! so off i go... -
I am plateau-ing too right now. I think I need another fill because I feel like my portions are WAY too big. My first 50 came off so easy now I am STUCK at 225. I am going to try the Plateau Busting Diet and up my exercise a little more and see how it goes. Wish me luck!

Hi -- I had a fill last tuesday (11/6). I wasn't have any trouble. I was feeling a really good amount of restriction but nothing troublesome. Probably a little TMI but I started my period 2 days ago and ever since then I am having trouble swallowing my pills. They are tiny tiny pills. I have never had trouble before. At first I thought I drank too much Water with them. Tonight I tried just a sip and i am still having trouble. It is a strange burning in my throat. I get a little slimy nothing major and my stomach knots up and I get waves of pressure in my throat. Does anyone else get this? What helps? What am I doing wrong??

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
LB304 replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello -- I have the VG band. My last fill (which was my 4th fill) I had 6cc's. It worries me that I am getting close to the max and I am only feeling a little restriction. Has anyone gotten to where they have the full 10cc's and still not felt any restriction? I go for my next fill wednesday and I am so scared my dr is going to tell me that the band just isn't for me and there is nothing he can do for me... -
Hi February Banders -- I haven't been on in a long time (March 2nd to be exact) :-) I have had 2 fills. The first one gave me a little restriction for about a week and I lost about 5 lbs. I wasn't happy with that. The second on which was May 14th gave me more restriction for about 2 weeks. I definately am eating less but I am still SOOOO hungry! I have lost about 10 pounds since this fill and I keep fluctuating between 246 and 250. I have scheduled my next fill for next tuesday (june 19th) and I can't wait! I really feel like it is just not working. I read all these posts from people that have already lost so much weight and here I am, I have only lost about 25 lbs give or take a few. Does anyone else feel like this? Does anyone have any good food ideas that keep you full?

Hi Everyone! I was banded on 2/15 and the shoulder pain is about to kill me... I feel awesome other than that. Just a little tender on the port side and I am still not able to sleep on my side yet. I think I have a pretty high pain tolerance but last night I was sobbing it hurt so bad. I had a heating pad on it and I was taking the mega pain pills. So, I am a week out. Did anyone have their gas shoulder pain last this long? I don't know if I can take this much more...:yield:

I completely know how you are feeling Lee. Stiff Abdomen and STARVING... I was banded on the 15th and am counting down the days until I can eat some cottage cheese or yogurt. Also, my stomach is itchy and I am having shoulder pains... Other than that, no real bad pain in my abdomen just some tenderness. I can't wait until I am able to sleep on my side again...

Well, I am four days out and I am not having much pain in my abdomen just soreness. And I am puffy on my right side where my port is. I read that this should go down in about a month. I am having horrible shoulder pain and can't seem to get rid of it... Any tips for this?

Hello Everyone... I was banded on Feb 15th (Thursday). I feel like I am doing really well. Just some pain at my incision sites and I am finally getting rid of the gas pain in my shoulder. I would love to get outside and walk but it is snowing and we already have about 10 inches of snow on the ground:( . So I have been trying to walk around the house as much as possible... I hope everyone has a great weekend and Congratulations to all of the other Banded Newbies!
