Hopeful this time got a reaction from Debbie3sons in My pathetic two year anniversary story
    Here's my band story:
I started at 235. During my 6 months of nutrition counseling prior to approval of getting the band I got down to 215. That's not uncommon for me. I've been able to lose 40 pounds quite easily, only to gain it back and more every time.
The day of band surgery I was 215. 5 days after band surgery I was 203. drinking only liquids will do that to you.
Then through the course of 12 months with the band it was a lot of trial and error. for the most part I kept getting fills. Still felt hungry, albiet I didn't seem to have the cravings for food I used to have. But then one time I got a fill and I threw everything up. Went back right away and had a little taken out. From there it seemed to really mess me up. some days I could eat nothing, some days I could eat everything. But what frustrated me the most was that I couldn't eat the foods that I believed were necessary for me to be healthy. I couldn't eat salad, chicken or eggs. At that was at all levels of Fluid in the band. I'd feel like I was chewing until my food was oblivion and yet something would get stuck. And for me, every time something got stuck, it was a violent 30 minutes of throwing up. I didn't even know my body could produce that much saliva but it did. It would happen everywhere. I became a recluse. I couldn't go out anywhere and eat because it would get stuck. I did get down to 180 pounds but it was a miserable, violent way to get there. I was DONE throwing up. So then I started reverting to foods that I wouldn't throw up with, like mashed potatoes and lots of them. Once I was back to 205 pounds I called it quits. I went and had the fluid out and i've been better ever since. I'm down to 190 now. And i'm happy that I am not throwing up and can eat chicken, salads and eggs.

It's now been two years since I had the lapband surgery done. For a year and a 1/2 i struggled with eating. I was throwing up almost on a daily basis. After a total and complete meltdown I finally decided 6 months ago to have all the Fluid removed and now i'm just saving my money to have the lapband taken out.
I wish I had a success story, but this simply didn't work for me.

Thank you for your honesty about your experience. I'm sorry that your journey on that road didn't work out for you. It is indeed a cliche but "One size doesn't always fit all"....I pray that you find your way out of what sent you to the lapband in the first place. And that you are blessed beyond measure....
