Do You Ever Wake Up......
AngieG0410 replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, I did the same thing. In reality, yes, you COULD do it without the surgery. You could lose weight, then life starts happening again and it all comes back. For me, the sleeve FORCED me into a life change. I needed that. I was queen of losing 30-40 lbs and then gaining back 50-60. I have now lost 73 lbs and feel great! -
I find most Protein shakes disgusting - but I have a few that I really like: Syntrax Matrix Mint Cookie - mix with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk - 24g protein Dymatize Elite Rich chocolate Dymatize Elite Cafe Mocha I like to mix 1/2 scoop of the chocolate & 1/2 scoop of the mocha with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk. It is really good and 23g of protein

Maybe you need to add in some carbs to your daily diet. Eat small "meals" throughout the day - every 2-3 hours to keep your blood sugar stable. Try to eat healthy carbs (yogurt, milk, nuts, etc) and not junk carbs (flour, sugar, etc).

I have only gotten sick 1 time and that was the day after surgery. I wouldn't let that be a big worry for you. *Most* of the time, vomitting isn't a problem for sleevers. Just take it easy. Eat slowly and stop at the first sign of being full (you will learn to recognize this quickly).

I was sleeved April 10. I was rockin on the weight loss (69 lbs so far!) until about 3 weeks ago. Now my scale won't budge. I am stuck. It is getting so frustrating. I am getting all my Protein, staying around 800 calories per day (never above 950) and exercising (elliptical and walking). Am I done? I still have a long way to go (at least 60 lbs left). I need some encouraging..

Thanks everyone.. My carbs are very low - I keep them below 40 for the day. I need to be patient. I know my body is reshaping itself because my clothes keep getting bigger. -

My first suggestion is to start tracking your calories on MyFitnessPal. You might be eating more than you realize. Start there. Keep track of everything that goes in your mouth - otherwise it is easy to eat too many calories.

Want Honest Immediate Post Surgery Opinions
AngieG0410 replied to ShannonK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is so different with this. I had very little pain - just felt sore like I did a thousand crunches. I was tired, but not to the point that I couldn't take care of my kids. By a week and a half I felt good. I was back to work at 2 weeks. I think you will be fine. Just have the 11 & 9 year old help out with the 5 year old and you should be fine. Good luck! -
